Who'll come to put up with the set up that exists? We're going to end up with some (possibly useless) spineless Quisling of a yes man.
-
They're disgusting. Most of them don't even give a shit. They're smiling, waving jump about and most concerned with getting their rodent like charver faces on the telly for a few seconds.

gutted. Don't boycott the Hull game. Turn up, raise hell and kick up an almighty stink

I'm not against Ashley. I'm not making any rash decision because we don't know what's gone on, who's done or said what etc. There's clearly some problems that Keegan and Ashley need to sort out, and I hope they do. If it comes down to something like either Keegan going or Wise being told to piss off, I hope Ashley will do the right thing and tell the shifty-eyed Cockney dwarf to sling his hook. I think he is the main problem between Keegan and Ashley's relationship. It's a bit of a crap situation, but it's one that can be mended and put right in both Keegan-Ashley relations and Ashley-Supporters relations as well.

Of course I will. Ultimately what am I angry about? I'm angry about what is being done to the club, that's always been the case. Over the past few years I and I'm sure plenty of you have been angry with what certain mangers have done to the club, what a chairman has done to the club and now what the owner is doing to the club. The actual club is what I love and the club is the victim in all of this, as are we because we get hurt at what people are doing to it. Newcastle United is the victim so I'm not going to turn my back on the actual club. You can be against what managers, boards, owners and players do whilst still sticking by, supporting and loving the actual club.

I can't back him. The sooner he's gone the better. He has a long long long long way to go before I feel I can back him. If that happens, and I hope it does - fair enough. But right now I can't back him, I'm embarrassed and ashamed that he plays for us. What I won't do though is boo or jeer him, for the sake of the team.

Not got mine either. This is a right fucking mess. Someone needs to be getting the sack for this. -
Smashing performance. I was expecting us to be well beaten. I'm very happy with the way we played.

Yeah Edgar had his dog with him!! He did indeed, and he went and got Robbie Elliott and some of the other coaching staff a cup-a-soup from Snack Attack, only there weren't enough cup-a-soups left to go around so I think Elliott did without. What sort of soup was it? That, I don't know.

Basically Benfield took it seriously. Like I've said, I watch them a canny bit, and they were pretty much as competitive as they are in their normal league games, and were at just about full strength. The kids were treating it like a kick-about/training session. Weren't that bothered. I can sort of understand that and it's only a (early) friendly, but even so, I think they should've put a bit more into the game.

What were they saying? Not an awful lot, that I could here. To be honest, I wasn't paying much attention to them. I was sat there, and these three blokes sat down, then after a while I twigged that they had southern accents and Hughton said something about "we've all been around Football for a long time" and then I realised who they were. But they weren't saying an awful lot, probably deliberately since they were sitting in a public stand. Second half, I went and stood over the other side of the ground (I often do that, as I go and watch Benfield a fair bit) and I noticed that Hughton was standing with Keegan and Terry Mac.
-
I spoke to Keegan briefly, just to wish him all the best really. I was sat next to Hughton, Money and Vetere in the stand during the first half.

Not suprising. I assumed from day one that he'd step down at some point and go back to his 'day job'. I think he did a good job at sorting out the running of the club and unlike FS who thought he knew what the fans wanted by playing up the 'I'm a Geordie, I know what the fans want' bullsh*t, Mort decided to build bridges and repair some of the damage between the club and fans by actually meeting with fans to discuss things early on. I think that was a good move. His time here gets a thumbs up from me.

I'm glad it's one of those two as it makes a bit of a change. Watford and Palace have been in the prem several times, I find them both dull and there are already too many London teams as it is.

On the subject of Brazilian names, I recommend reading 'Futebol: The Brazilian Way of Life' by Alex Bellos as it has an interesting bit on Brazilian names. They aren't just their actual names or versions of them. Any player with a name ending 'inho' or 'inha' means Little. Ronaldinho = Little Ronaldo. A name ending 'ao' means Big. 'Ze' is a shortened version of Jose (so it's a bit like 'Joe'). Some players are given nicknames refering to their descent. There have been players called: Polaca (Polack or Pole) Mexicano (Mexican) Japinha (Little Japanese) Alemao (Big German) One player was known as Mauro Shampoo because as well as being a Footballer he also owned a Hairdressers. Dunga was called so after the Brazilian Portuguese name of the character Dopey from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Garrincha means Little Bird. Ugly players have been called: Airton Beleza (Airton Goodlooking) Marciano (Martian) Medonho (Frightful) Cara de Jegue (Donkey Face) Others have been named after animals: Formiga (Ant) Piolho (Lice) Abelha (Bee) Jacare (Alligator) Some have been named because of their colour/race (which is acceptable in Brazil) Escurinho (Darky) Telefone (Telephone, at a time when most Telephones were black) Petroleo (Petrol) Gasolina (Gasoline) Meia Noite (Midnight) Others: Preguinho (Little Nail) Bigode (Moustache) Nariz (Nose) Boquinha (Little Mouth) An ex-governor of the Brazilian state of Piaui was known as Mao Santa (Holy Hand) while the president of the Rio State Football Federation is Caixa D'Agua (Water Tank). In the book there are supporters called: Dentinho (Little Tooth) Metaleiro (Heavy Metal Fan) Cotonente (Cotton Bud) Some players have been named because they resembled the styles of other players Canigga Maradona Muller (after Gerd Muller) Gilmar (after the goalkeeper in Brazil's 1958 and 1962 World Cup Winning sides. The original Gilmar was given a Hybrid name of both his parents' names Gilberto and Maria. The book lists an XI of professional players' names. Picole (Lollipop) Ventilador (Ventilator Fan) Solteiro (Single Man) Fumanchu (Fu Manchu) Ferrugem (Rust) Gordo (Fatso) Astronauta (Astronaut) Portuario (Docker) Gago (Stutterer) Geada (Frost) Santo Cristo (Holy Christ)

We were decent yesterday and were matching them in the first half. But they needed the result more than we did, stepped up and right now, if Chelsea step up then we can't match them. Viduka being subbed at half time didn't help, and Smith was pretty useless. Other than that I've got no problem with how we played.

Tranmere away 91/92 season - about Sep/Oct I think. I sat in the main stand with my Tranmere supporting relatives. We were a goal up at half time but ended up losing 3-2.
