In about '95 when I was about 13/14 me and me mates used to stand at the gates under the Leazes/Milburn corner where you could see the pitch, I remember one game I think against QPR where Beardsley scored 2 in a few minutes rifling one into the top corner and a steward opened a door and let us all in to watch the last few minutes; the place was bouncing. I also remember before the Strawberry corner was filled in being took up onto the roofs by my older cousin to see into the ground on a night game. Being a teenager at a time when the club was going through its meteoric rise was just magical. The inky memories I have of those days are still so vivid and it was so easy to fall In love with the club, such a contrast with the post millennium/Ashley eras. Beam backs at the Odeon, even home games too. Being enraged when you got yet another click on your mint blue Asics away top. Before that even when your mam got you one of those kits with the sew on NUFC badge from Kids Style in North Shields and being both happy you had a strip but gutted at the same time. Ceefax like others have mentioned. Getting the Pink every Saturday. Being in the Junior Magpies. Queuing for hours for tickets to cup games then sitting miles away from your mates in the only spare seat in the Gallowgate. Buzzing for a week after we beat Barca and telling everyone at school about the unbelievable atmosphere. Remember going to the parade after losing the '98 cup final where thousands upon thousands turned out and thinking imagine the scenes had we won. My mate going on and on about how much he hated Pistone after he got raped by Overmars and how he wanted to drop a dead cow from an Overpass onto the top deck of the bus right on Pistone's head. We all agreed that it was a fitting and just punishment. Shearer and Steve Watson giving speeches on the balcony of the civic centre and saying how they were going to bring the World Cup home that summer in France haha class.

Was my first game too. Remember being very back row of the Milburn. Absolutely class.

To be honest I am a little gutted about the hand like. The one fingered salute was mainly only used towards the tail end of his career, the statue should have been modelled off a photo of him in his pomp in 1996. Full palm out with little finger sticking outwards slightly.

This. I was thinking the other day when Pardew was here and I actually wanted us to lose games. When we scored it was just a Partridge shrug.gif. Now Rafa has brought all the love back, and considering we're in a lower division than before, that's quite mind blowing! I remember being absolutely gutted at times when we scored. How did it ever come to that?

I thought that with the appointment of Rafa that we would have seen the end of going into the new season with players we knew were not good enough years ago and without addressing our areas of weakness but it seems not and it boggles my mind. Hell even on Champ Man I used to get rid of the shite and improve my weak positions just as soon as that new transfer kitty came through; why is it that this seems to be beyond a Newcastle manager? That said I still believe that we have enough quality and man for man we are better than most teams and once we get a LB a LW (hopefully) and Mitro back, with a balanced team our better players should provide the quality to see us through. Our players need to man up though and take some fucking responsibility.

Amazing that like. -
Just snapped like a twig. Seems like everything just aligned in a one in a million shot for it to just snap like that. Horrible.

Still cannot believe that we have this gadgie as our manager Imagine if we had a decent ownership to go hand in hand then the sky really would be the limit. Its just a shame that we have to do a year in the championship though but at least the tide for us is turning.

Maybe its because I havent bought a shirt since the Virgin one but I had a good look and feel of the current one today and thought it was an absolute pile of cheaply made wank.

That goal on his debut man against Villa. I celebrated like a right mad cunt.
-
What the fucks Hoddle on about, Nani meant that man.
-
Staying, 100% imo based off the way he was acting with Benitez after Spurs and his general overall character.

Sure I seen my first Leicester glory hunter the other day. I was in the Metrocentre and there was this little lad in full Leicester Kit with Vardy 9 on the back. His mam and dad definitely had North East accents so rules out some Leicester people being a long way from home.

Looked quality when he came on. Still cant believe we have this chap. Hope he stays. Hope he goes to the Euro's too but would hate another Michael Owen situation like in '06. My interest in the World Cup ended right there. Was distraught at the time. Now seems funny, the little cunt

Had my season ticket for 12 years and gave it up 3 years ago due to Ashley and swore id never get another one till he sells up but man fuck me this is a hard one. We are served such a diet of shit with the occasional cherry thrown in there that really id be silly not to get another season ticket when we have one of the worlds greatest managers in charge of us in the Championship!

They have a lot in common with County Durham it seems. Wut? Moved to east Durham some years ago and it is an almost daily occurrence. One morning early doors I was walking to the corner shop and across the road there was this old bloke feeding a twix to a horse.

Pardew dancing man.

Think I must have read the body language different to most others. Seemed to me like he was staying. Specially the way he was with Townsend.
-
If he is the kind of man we think he is and the kind of man he comes across as then I think he'll stay. He was looking for a project to build a club up long term and he saw us as the perfect fit. He thought he could keep us up but he couldn't, that will irk him. If he is the man we think he is he will want to right that wrong and if he was genuinely serious about the project at NUFC in the first place then what is one season in the championship? A mere small step backwards. We are the perfect fit for him and long term this partnership could lead to something very special indeed. it's just the ownership that could fuck this up.
-
If Rafa does go he takes mine and I suspect most of our collective give a fucks with him. If he goes, let hell be unleashed on this club, fire, dragons, the lot. Plunge the divisions, whatever it takes to rid the club of this cancerous despot because only then will we have anything even remotely worth caring about again.
-
The only glimmer of hope we have left as a fan base. Couldn't bare to watch this team with someone else in charge now.

Atmosphere played a huge part in this result. Had we been playing them at any other time with a deathly silent crowd we might have just scraped a win.
