I think the thing that makes our lows feel so bad is because as a club we know that we have everything in place here to be a top, top club challenging for honours most years. The fan base, the stadium etc but its always either the owner or the manager or a combination of both who never fail to fuck us up royally. Obviously, we have it better than lower league clubs but its the fact that we know we could be one of the top teams in the country that is galling whereas fans of much smaller clubs know that they cant. meh.

Dont know why this thread has turned into Brits slagging American sports fans for their supposed lack of passion and Americans defending themselves tbh, its daft. I have watched the NFL for many years and more recently some NBA and I can say that both are just as passionate as the other, only difference I see is that British football fans belt out songs in their thousands whereas American fans dont; at least not beyond the basic three or four word chant. Some of the NFL crowds are crazy; entire stadiums on their feet going berserk for the whole game. If that's not passion then I don't know what is.

Always support them in the major tournaments and get quite excited if they progress deep into the knockout phase and get angry and pissed off when they go out; the loss to Argentina in the 98 WC was a particular low and obviously 1990 but I was only a little kid then but still cried like a baby but between tournaments I couldn't give a fuck; would much rather watch repeats of Gok Wan's show than watch an England friendly.
