I thought Dummet was pretty poor today, normally he's good at the defensive side, but today he kept ending up in the middle and leaving huge gaps in behind on the flanks. We looked much better when Haidara came on. Totally agree with this. Don't think Dummett did too badly. Put in a couple of decent crosses too. Wasn't he game pretty much done for when Haidara came on, anyway. The first thing Haidara did when he came on was side foot the ball with his left foot straight into touch. The guy can barely pass a ball now. Used to be a big fan of Haidara but he's been a waste of everyone's time this season.

Maybe wishful thinking but I got the sense that applause for him was a patronising one. As in people were actually surprised he pulled that pass off because of his shitness and usual unwillingness to even attempt that kind of pass. Like he was just a lost kid out there.

Into the goals of the weekend. Seems he got an assist too:

I'd argue the exact opposite. From a common sense point of view you can't just wander off deliberately or otherwise and magically become inactive.
-
Yeah, vs Italy in Euro 2008. Can't remember the players involved.
-
I know exactly what you mean

I swear his hand was on the goal-line. Does that make him technically on the pitch? Well, actually I suppose yes. But even had his momentum taken him completely off it doesn't exempt him from remaining active and providing the cover.
-
What was that bullshit about Sterling's first goal being offside? Bournemouth defender had gone off the pitch, but that doesn't prevent him from covering.
-
Forgot that pathetic "throw myself onto the ball" tackle from Janmaat actually lead to the goal
-
This makes me very sad.

That goal he scored on boxing day at Bolton felt like such a liberation at the time. Finally would he force his way in? But it still took months. Ugh.
-
Imagine him out there against that Norwich defence today Anyway, what Ian said.

Add to that his obsession with just hanging out the back of opposing players and tugging their arms. Infuriating, I hate how he constantly does that. There was a moment in the first where the ball broke away from the guy he was "marking", he was closest and could have been first to the ball but he was so busy grabbing onto his man's arm he didn't even notice.
-
He is shit scared of playing a forward pass. Such a stat padder, as soon as there is a slight risk you see him bricking it. Still, wasn't too insultingly horrible today.
-
What did this guy take before the game? Beyond the actual quality of his play he was running up the pitch all through the 90 minutes. Class. What a maniac.
-
Indeed. This clearly won't be the end of the goals in this game, so it needs to be us. Dreading the second half nap now.
-
This is the chance to put out a positive team, and play a full game like the first half against Chelsea. ... Obviously, no one will be arsed again I'm sure.
-
I put them on my feet and legs, personally. But agree, very necessary... feel uncomfortable if I don't have shinpads on.

Love it when Wullie comes in and sets things straight

Decent game of footy that was, and a good day all round. Thanks all for the welcome, and again thanks to Neesy for setting it all up!

Yes, there's no rule about "over head height"... There, sorted

I am driving from South Shields, if ever that helps anyone for a pick up along the way

So who else is making their debut here?

Ah, yes the ecrus kit.
