Reminds me of what Elland Road looked like when Leeds built their massive stand that seemed to dwarf the rest. Going back about 25 years like.

That doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Firstly that they're cowardly enough to duck out of things by hiding behind an imaginary injury and secondly that he's come in and transformed their attitude immediately and commanded a bit of respect. McClaren was undoubtedly shit but his squad let him and the fans down horrifically.

It's so excited to be engaged in the club again and actually look forward to a game. Not only has the club got a lift but this place has as well, can't wait to get into some actual football discussion instead of calling the manager and players a set of cunts. This may well be the switch that flicks me right back into it again. Yesterday I couldn't have given a fuck, today I care again, if we stay up and Benitez stays and is backed in the market again then I'll get myself and the boy a ST next season. I needed a reason and Benitez is it. Great to hear mate, will be so fucking wierd reading none angry posts from you though[emoji38] I wanted McClaren to be successful and I'd heard all about what a good coach he was and when he brought his own guys in I was hopeful he could build something but it quickly dissolved. It was clear he never had the presence or the plan to make a decent fist of it here despite having £80m worth of players bought for him. He failed miserably, he's not the first and he certainly won't be the last to fail here but he failed never the less.

He used to manage us, he doesn't any longer. What happens to him in the future has zero impact any more. Can't summon any emotion about him other than relief he's been binned.

Massively heartened by the appointment and have watched his little interview a couple of times now. Was struck by the contrast of him and McClaren, the positivity, the organisation, the plan, the goals and the knowhow to get the job done. No bullshit, no spin, no waffle. After hearing him, a proper manager, speak about the club, the fans and the players it's no the wonder the players simply weren't responding to McClaren - utter fraud (nice guy) but an utter fraud and they clearly had no belief in him or his message. I think they'll respond to Benitez. I'm not buzzing yet because we're still very much in the shit but we're looking up now and we've finally got a bloke in charge who can get shit done.

Can we get 2 more points from our 10 than Norwich and Sunderland can from their 9? That's pretty much the question, bearing in mind we play both of them I reckon it's about 50/50 for surviving now. That's dramatically better than it was 3 or 4 days ago.
-
Probably the best appointment that was even remotely possible to make and we've done it. I'm still a bit in shock that they've pulled it off, just wish we'd done it 10 games earlier when the situation was just as bleak as it is now. Odd to look at the dugout and see someone who knows exactly what they're doing, having confidence in the bloke in charge is an emotion I'd forgotten I even had...

It's about 3 league places higher in prize money. So what?, its far more than he's worth. Benitez is the kind of manager you pay whatever it takes to get, Moyes isn't. My point was that even a slight improvement in league placings would ultimately fund the increase in salary of the better boss.

That's a new one for the excuse list - 'spells'

They just fancied a trip away then? Maybe Concur just wanted to do a few brass rubbings at the Minster?

Fucker couldn't pick up 4 pencils, the incompetent cunt.

Sure McClaren was tucking into his Sunday roast in Alne which isn't a kick of the pants from York.
-
Plenty of time to sit and consider what monumental horse's arse you'd made of the situation to find yourself in that predicament though.

Buy a decent shirt, learn how to knot your tie properly and sing the Blaydon Races.

Abut 5 pages back...

Another good one is - 'Well he owns the club so any money coming into it is actually his. He owns the club, it earns money and it's therefore his so aye he is spending money man. What more can he do??' Love that one.
-
..."but he's put his hand in his pocket and spent £80m. What more do you want him to do??" etc.
-
Bet he went for the pork over the lamb too. Fucking heathen.
-
I'd love to think they anticipated this and discussed all of this shit with Moyes or whoever during the 18 day break but I know it never happened. It's far too obvious and sensible and these cunts simply don't do obvious or sensible.
-
Binning McClaren tonight and appointing Moyes is the only thing that gives them a chance to stay up.
-
I bet they're right behind him. He's on the edge of a cliff like.

Should have been challenged abut the dross he's overseeing months ago. If you're a PL manager and the results and performances have been as poor as ours have been then he's absolutely fair game. It's fucking March and the only team below us are going to go down as one of the worst in PL history. He's failed miserably and deserves any criticism coming his way, he coaches them, he picks the team, he makes the subs and he chooses formations and tactics and it's been fucking dire. Other managers have been sacked for under-performing and he's the worst of the lot, it's been fucking wank. Just bin the cunt ffs.
