Someone like Martinez is exactly what they need - young, ambitious with fresh ideas and very likeable. He'd need a couple of years to turn things around and change the culture there though which is where it all falls down. They want either Benitez, Mourinho or Guardiola. They, bizarrely, feel they deserve a manager of that standing and anyone who isn't one of those 3 will be struggling to stay onside with the fans. They aren't even the best team in Liverpool ffs. They'll crucify him as soon as he goes on a bad run. The sooner the Liverpool fans are ignored the better the club will be. Fuck what the fans think, appoint him, back him 100% and they'll start to close the massive gap to the best teams in the country. But they won't....

Really hope he doesn't snap an ankle or anything like that. Ping his ACL. Again. That would be tragic.
-
Or sign enough players to cope with European football. Aye. But even so...
-
He's being honest (again). He's absolutely correct when he says it's unrealistic to match this season in the league AND have a decent European campaign too. I'd like to think that our fans understand the extra strain that playing Thursday/Sunday will have. More games, more travel, more injuries...it's inevitable that you sacrifice one for the other. It's going be a fantastic experience for them to be playing in Europe but there are drawbacks too. Large measures of common sense, patience and and biting of tongues will be needed next year.

Cheers boss. Thanks for the support.

he's a born educator, that's why. That's tombstone material.

Must have made a hell of a thump as he landed.

Sounds like a prison sentence.

No axe to grind with him, he's leaving for the right reasons and he's being totally honest about it (provided that twitter thing is legit). He's a decent footballer and can understand his position.
-
He has started 6 games in 3 years. League games? Surely it isn't THAT bad if you take CL and the cups into contention. League Cup League Cup Europe Other Total Apps Goals Apps Goals Apps Goals Apps Goals Apps Goals Apps Goals 31 5 3 1 7 7 8 5 2 0 52 17 Here's who he got his goals against: '11-'12: Leeds x2, Aldershot. (Both League Cup) '10-'11: Bolton, Blackpool (League). Southampton (FA Cup), Scunthorpe (League Cup) '09-'10: Wigan, City, WHU, Villa (League). CSKA Moscow, Wolfsburg x3 (CL) The snivelling little cunt's finished.

Playground stuff. Shake hands and get on with it.
-
Not beyond the realms of possibility that we've got him all but signed like we did with Cabaye a year ago.
-
Look at you, only using 1 seat for your arse. Pathetic.
-
Limped over the line a bit but that shouldn't detract from a superb season. Qualifying for Europe in 5th place was beyond anything we imagined way back in August. Great effort from all concerned and thoroughly looking forward to next season already.
-
40 appearances, qualifying for Europe, doubling his wages and he still wants out? Fuck him. If he doesn't want to roll with us then we'll roll right over the average cunt.
-
Would probably cost more than £2m to replace him so from our perspective it doesn't make sense to let him go cheaply. If the lad wants to move on so he plays more then I don't think any Newcastle fan would begrudge him that. He's served his purpose I suppose.

And the Hillsborough flames. Mustn't forget them.
-
They'll always prefer graft over craft. That's why their heroes are Kevin Ball, John Kay etc. A crunching tackle gets a standing ovation as much as a genuine piece of quality football.
-
Really? I'm happy with it, especially Simpson. Don't have a problem with Best but I'm confident we'll replace him with better. Just a case of improving the squad for me, nothing more to it. Never said I was(n't) happy with it, I'm just not sure what they're up to. If they've got better players lined up then it's happy days but we won't know for a bit.
