Bit late to the show but him going to Gladbach for that much is way ott. He looked/sounded like he'd be a great addition to our squad but if we had a limit and stuck to it then it's hard to argue against it. I'm all for pushing the boat out to get good young players into the club but I don't like seeing us held to ransom. Fuck that. No axe to grind, it didn't happen, we move on.

Rather look elsewhere tbh. We're a better team without him than we ever were with him.

The cowardly thing comes from his uncanny ability to back off from a LW running at him rather than put a foot in to stop him. Seen him do it dozens and dozens of times and it's frustrating. Jerome Thomas ffs. Yep, i can ignore his lack of talent and treating the ball like it's about to explode. But the whole backing off until he's basically standing on Krul's toes really pisses me off. the backing off thing is cack. it was highlighted on MotD on one occasion then many built on it to the poiunt of blaming it for the spurs goal (season back up i think)when he actually done the right thing. those that say he should 'put a foot in' have obviously never played the game. any player that stands up to put a foot in with a player running at them will get burned. competent defender, not great, poor with the ball. Agree that it's not always appropriate to make a challenge every time but backing off 30 yards and allowing the winger to get a bit of speed and momentum isn't great either. Backing off and allowing them to attack you in the penalty area means you can't afford to make any challenge at all.

Generally when something sounds too good to be true it often is. £5m would be way more than he's actually worth, even adding the 'English' premium to his value. Then again they need a decent RB for this season and if Simpson fits the bill for them and they're prepared to pay through the nose to get him then let them bid as much as they want. They can't afford to leave it until he's free next summer as their need is urgent. Fucking milk them.

Putting us above the Championship now, that's a turn-up for the books. Totally finished at PL level. Interesting to see the spin start though. "17 goals in 18 starts" etc.. Here's who he got his goals against: '11-'12: Leeds x2, Aldershot. (Both League Cup) '10-'11: Bolton, Blackpool (League). Southampton (FA Cup), Scunthorpe (League Cup) '09-'10: Wigan, City, WHU, Villa (League). CSKA Moscow, Wolfsburg x3 (CL) "Bang them in at the top level" ffs. The odious little deluded cunt.

Not that imminent then? Could still happen but you'd have thought if a move was close then he'd hang around for a day or 2 to tie things up. Then again he's only a 2-hour flight away...

Stupid fucking fat fingers stickied this by mistake.

Could be seen as a decent investment tbh. Pay the compensation of about £4m, £50k a week for a year or two then possibly sell him for £12m (ish). Walk away £3m (ish) up on the deal and get him 'free'. Just have to wait and see how it pans out.

He knows that if there is genuine interest then we're struggling to keep him. Aye, we can put a massive price-tag round his neck but if they still want him they they'll cough up. I think he's fucking great and I'd build the team around him but they're one of the biggest and best in the world and any footballer would love to play for them.
-
And how would they do that? By offering sexual favours? What a pathetic article. They'll hoy in a player they don't want any more as part of the deal.

Gaël Bigirimana rejoins Coventry on a permanent basis
midds replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
Know absolutely nothing about the lad, never seen or heard of him until we were linked a while back. It's encouraging that we've spotted him over and above the rest of them so someone's seen something there that's worth getting. The European campaign is going to add stress on the squad so it's nice that were drafting a few bodies in to replace the ones who've left. Just keep building the squad steadily, year on year on year. It's the right way to do things and they deserve time and patience to do it -
If they're digging their heels in to ensure they get top dollar then no-one could blame them, it's exactly what I'd want Ashley to do. They're quite within their rights to sell at their convenience which is a pain in the arse but not the end of the world either. Fairly encouraged that the cash is there to be spent on a striker/RB/CH or any combination to move the first XI forward which is the ultimate aim. Just have to wait and see how it all pans out and where we are come Sept 1st. No point frothing about every spunky tweet or report, just sit back and hope none of our big hitter leave.

He's on the dole, he's on the dole He's on the, Smudger's on the dole He's on he dole...

Sounds fair. Wonder if we'd stretch to that though? If we could shift Best and/or Simpson that would free up a bit of extra cash perhaps?
-
That's an odd one to get wrong.

You didn't mention that you've been a cunt. Try again.
-
If you offer the forum a full and frank apology detailing how much of a cunt you are then you may escape a ban.
-
Just to add a bit of spice to proceedings I'm going to ban him if he can't provide us with a source. Purely for the sake of drama.

Good move for all concerned. Guthrie gets regular premier league football and I'm guessing a better wage. Reading get a decent footballer for nowt. He'll do ok down there without pulling up any trees. He could have signed a new deal with us and sat on the bench but wants to play. Unlike others...
-
That's more realistic. Can't see us going much further than that. (If it's actually true obviously.)
-
With his contract winding down a bit the club had to make a decision as to whether or not to offer hi a new deal or move him on. For whatever their reasons it looks like he's going for a decent fee where he'll do quite well imo. The cash we get for him will hopefully be used to buy his replacement and give us another really good option for this season. He's done nothing wrong really but it was time to stick or twist with him and I can understand why he's been made available. It'll be the same for Simpson too when the time comes. If we can get about £6m for the pair of them and put that cash towards upgrading on RB and a striker then it's good business. Onwards and upwards.

This chap seems to have a pretty good handle on the situation.
