    Alan Pardew

At the start of the season I thought that the absolute best we could have achieved this season was 7th. The top 6 were away and clear in my mind back in August. Having seen how ordinary Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have been this season has made seeing points hoyed away like yesterday really frustrating. We'll never get a better chance to break into that little clique and we can't let all of the hard work of Autumn go to waste.
  2. A derailed engineering train on the line between. Liverpool and London means loads of them won't make the game. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-17169947 Fucking mugs.

At this stage last season we had conceded 39...
  4. Which makes the not signing a CB farce in January, even more of a farce now. Bingo. Zero options at CB for the rest of the season.
  5. Pardew's got no choice but to stick with him. We've literally got no-one else better to play there.
  6. Playing like an upset giraffe at the minute.

Good x 2. We undoubtedly having a very good season but that doesn't mean Pardew is beyond criticism. If he's making glaring mistakes then he's got to expect a bit of flack. The quality of football we're playing is poor, the Ben Arfa riddle, bypassing midfield, the Obertan obsession...it all adds up. He obviously deserves more time but he needs to sort the problems out.

He was getting loads of stick after the match today, people were blaming the players but he was getting more stick than any individual player. Buck stops with him ultimately. It's his team, he trains them, he picks them and chooses how to deploy them and replace them as and when. To be 2 up against a relegation team like Wolves and not take 3 points isn't acceptable. I understand that it doesn't always work out the way it should and poor teams sometimes defy the odds but we should have won today given the state of the game after 20 minutes.

    St James' Park

If he'd smeared shit all over himself and ran around the ground with a big sign saying "It'll always be St. James' Park" he would have been 'doing something'. 'Doing something ' fucking stupid and ridiculous like this doesn't automatically mean he deserves praise.
  10. I think it'll be a draw. 2 points out of 6 from these 2 home games would be disappointing if I'm honest.
  11. Sounds like we tried to do to Wolves what Spurs did to us 2 weeks ago. Start quickly, score a couple and then ease back and coast for the last 70 minutes. Problem is that Spurs still pushed looking for more goals rather than stop playing completely and hand the initiative and momentum over. Why can't we just keep playing football and try to wallop teams by 4 or 5? Is Pardew trying to be too fucking clever and cute by thinking the game's won?
  12. Got a feeling we'll twat them tbh. We've not given anyone a good hiding yet.

Bloke I worked with at the time nearly totalled the car we were in when it came on the radio. THE FUCKING WHAT??
  14. Honestly think Messi will become the benchmark by which all players are compared. At the minute it's still Pele. Maradona and Best - in 5 years time it'll be Messi. He's untouchable and unplayable at the minute. He's a joy to watch.

I don't think it will change that often. I think if they're going to hawk it out then it'll go the the company offering the best deal. That'll change fairly often imo. Best case scenario is that we get bought by someone who gives enough of a shit to revert back to St. James' Park and sticks to it. We'll have to wait and see though.

    St James' Park

The name of the ground will change over time, I still call the Leazes by that name, my kids call it the Sir John Hall because that's all they've ever known. I don't think it's going to be called the Sports Direct Arena for the next 15 years though. It'll change as often as the shirt sponsors do. It won't stay the same long enough to take hold. It'll always be St. James' Park to those who matter.

Neither would I. It would make it easier to deal with though.

Advertising is everywhere in football. It's on the shirts, on the hoardings, on the ball, on your ticket, on the concourse, in the programme, on your hot dog - it's everywhere. The next step is to rename the stadium. The official name has changed but how many of us use it? The BBC may use it, Sky may use it but I've not heard a single person use it in the flesh during a conversation. The change has made no impact on how I view things. Not saying I like it because I'd rather he hadn't done it. The hoardings look shit. The roof of the Gallowgate looks shit, no arguments there but if it wasn't Sports Direct then it would be another company being advertised in the same space. The crux of it for me are that we're getting no benefit from all of this. We've relinquished the name of our stadium for no benefit and that's out of order. Had Sports Direct coughed up £8m (or whatever) a year for the privilege of naming the stadium then it would have been easier to swallow. The fact it's being done for zero benefit to the club is the real sickener. If someone like Nike come in and offer real cash for the right to change the name of the ground then there would be a sea-change in opinion.

  20. Starts 1st March and it's £42.83 per month. Crazy.
  21. Could be this, just a fiver instead. Snide. Was £558 for this season.
  22. Can't understand where the £43 came from tbh.

  24. Got one this morning. Sounds like it's going to become a rolling 12 month direct debit type thing.
