and Hull. and Sunderland. and Blackburn. Blackburn will grit themselves away from it imo. Hull will probably alright aswell i reckon - blatantly a confidence team. When they get a win from somewhere they'll probably stay fairly solid. Mackems, maybe - but they've got Kenwyne Jones. So do you think that Portsmouth, Blackburn, Sunderland, Boro and Hull will ALL finish above us? Do i think we'll get relegated, you mean? It's too early to tell yet - but like i said in that other post - if we lose to the Mackems i think yeah, we probably will. I said it's between us, Pompey and Boro for 18th. Blackburn, Mackems and Hull - yeah - i think they'll finish above us most likely. Putting our woeful away record aside, three of our remaining home games are against the top four (hence the 'if we lose to Sunderland' comment). Gonna be tight as fuck, like. No, I asked you if you could see all of those teams finishing above us. Because if we finish above just one of them, we stay up in my opinion. I still reckon we've got enough about us to finish above at least one of that lot plus WBA and Stoke. If you disagree then fair enough. Finish below Portsmouth, Blackburn, Sunderland, Boro and Hull = Relegation imo. To which i say, i'll tell you after the Mackem game. That's exactly what I've just said.

It's not as if Kinnear was a class manager with a decent record and we're just turning on him because of recent poor form. FFS. He was never good enough. Appointing hiim was a mistake from the start. Let's just get around to rectifying that before we're dead and buried. It was either him or Hughton. Take your pick. No-one else wanted the job. Getting on my nerves how everyone states this with utter certainty. If you were an unemployed manager who'd just left a Championsihp club, would you not jump at the chance to manage anywhere in the Premiership? No matter how s***? Well there are a few of those out there right now. And every last one is leagues better than Joe f***ing Kinnear. Do you blame the players at all or is it totally, 100% on Kinnear? The players are also s*** but they'd be significantly less s*** if they weren't being coached by a complete idiot. Is it impossible in your mind to both improve the squad AND get a new manager? Does it have to be either/or? Not at all. But I can't see a long line of top players and managers forming an orderly queue to join us, can you? In my opinion the players need to take a large share of the responsibility of the blame for where we find ourselves. If you disagree then fair enough. I don't absolve the players from blame in the slightest. I don't see why you keep trying to misrepresent me in that manner. We need to make a couple signings AND sack Joe Kinnear if we want to stay up. There are replacements out there. Name them. Search the thread, I've done so at least five times and I really can't be arsed anymore. I think you mentioned unemployed Championship managers. What do you think the reaction would be if we gave Glenn Roeder or Paul Jewell a hefty 4 year contract?

Wrong context. You dont sack a competent manager who is simply having a bad run But You do sack a manager who is out of his depth Dave's already fielded this one 2 mins ago.
-
Are you having a laugh, man? Do you think Joe Kinnear is good enough? You can blame it on the lack of depth aswell... but then - the reason why people aren't coming here because they won't commit themselves to this cretin of a manager. Yep - that's exactly what I said. Fuck me.

You can't just sack your manager every time you go on a shitty run of games ffs. Why not just sack our manager every Friday afternoon and win the following game?

Got to admire the optimism. Are you still certain we'll stay up, Midds? Certain? No. Pretty sure? Yes. Other teams are on shit runs too. I thought we'd lose this one tonight.
-
Let's just get in 1-0 down and regroup. If we're still one down with 10 mins to go then we can have a go.
-
Just slated Babayaro. Which is fair enough really.
-
Lost a bit of weight too by the looks of things.
-
He's on BBC1 now.
-
The only hope we've got is to try to keep it as tight as possible for as long as possible and nick a goal from a set-piece. Keep men behind the ball and track their runners. Can't see it happening though.
-
Unfortunately I think we're going to get mangled tonight. Just hope no-one picks up any silly injuries/cards. Also hope Barton keeps a lid on his temper.

You're a right iconoclastic c*nt, you know that?

He's arguably the club's biggest legend in the past decade bar Shearer. He's the last "respectable" footballer we have remaining at this club and probably will be the last one of those we have for a long, long while. Of course it hurts more than "just another player moving clubs." If he was 'respectable' he'd have handed an official transfer request in rather than getting his lawyer to release a snidey little statement. He should have been honest about it rather than hanging on for a loyalty payment like Barton did.
-
It's more of a reflection on the position that the club is in for me. I'd agree with that. I'm sad that he's felt he needed to move on but I'm annoyed at how he's gone about making sure it happen.
-
Fucking hell you'd think he'd died or something. Players move clubs all the time. He's a talented footballer who doesn't want to play for us anymore and he's engineered himself a move away on the sly. He's not a fucking god.
