And rightly so. Of course the damage players/people inflict on others in a deliberate action needs to be taken into consideration. It is how I see life, it is how I see football. I don't agree with setting the punishment in line with the damage it does to the player. I'm not talking about crimes or other aspects of life. Just tackles in football. He's going to get a 3 match ban and, imo, anything more than that would be harsh. You obviously don't agree and that's fine.

He was around in the summer when they were buying Dos Santos, Modric and Bentley too don't forget. I'd imagine that he didn't have too much to say about them selling their two best players! They've recouped more though I think. They got about £55m from just Berbatov and Keane.

The FACT and it is a FACT of the matter is that Guthrie had no intention of playing the ball, he just wanted to go through the player. I don't care if he's got a broken leg or a slightly bruised calf, it was an awful challenge and deserves a hefty suspension. Take your bloody Black and White specs off, if that had been an opposition player making that 'Challenge' (and I use that word in it's loosest sense), then you and the rest of us would be up in arms, and rightly so. I'm not disputing it was a very bad tackle and I'd be annoyed if it was one of ours who got chopped down but I wouldn't be crying about it on the internet and wanting him banned for months. The tackle was correctly punished at the time with a free kick and a straight red. Automatic 3 match ban. The severity of the injury shouldn't matter - bruising, fracture, break.. it was the same tackle. It's been dealt with and any extra games added onto his 3 would be unfair imo. How many games did Taylor get for snapping Eduardo's leg in half? 3? That said it was a shocking tackle and I'm in no way defending it. But any more than 3 would be harsh.
