  1. and Milner is helping to establish Villa in the top four. Whereas our 'brilliant' summer of transfers has us on the brink of relegation. if i had a choice of paying a little too much for transfers, and receiving slightly less than we're due on our sales, but getting in exactly who we need to improve us, then i would take that over some clever negotiating for average players like Nolan and Taylor or good players like Given and N'Zogbia. Neither of which wanted to even play for us again though. I'm all for keeping good players but if they refuse to play for us then what choice has the club got? But the reason they didn't want to be here was because the squad building in the summer has left us where we are and because we've showed very little ambition. At the moment, that's still true. No point selling your council house for a million quid if you then go and live in a cardboard box on the high street. That's fair enough. What were the club supposed to do under the circumstances though? The 2 players clearly don't want to be here so what else has the club to do other than to get the best deal possible for the pair of them?

    We now need

    We need a 'Number 10'.

  4. He's Bruce's problem now. He may well turn into a fantastic player but I'd rather he gave someone else headaches than us.
  5. We're certainly getting top dollar for players who are blatantly out of the picture. People will still moan like but there you go..... Hat's off to the negotiators.
  6. Fantastic work from the club getting rid of him for so much. Even if it works out as Taylor + (only) £4m it's an excellent deal for us. Basically, N'Zogbia fr Nolan and Taylor and maybe a little bit more cash. Go the recruitment team.
  7. Medical on Monday according to SSN. Craig David reckons Taylor was on the Wigan coach with his agent tailing in the car behind. Coach pulls over and Taylor gets out and hops into the agent's car and heads up here for a medical. The Nuffield is not available for medicals on a weekend so he's having one on Monday. Supposedly.

    The Mackems Game

I think the atmosphere will lift our players after another shit week in the life of NUFC. Bit like City (H) hopefully. 100% support for the lads and everyone else gets dogs abuse.
  9. Money. That's really why it's hard to have respect for Given in this move. If a top 4 side were in for him fine, thanks for a job well done hope you go win a medal. But there is no promises that Man City will be in the top 8 next year, never mind the top 4. For all we know Shay could be replaced by the time they get anywhere near the Champions League. It's all about the money. And that's what makes it so disappointing. I think that is absolute shite. He's going there cos it has a sign of promise. There is no chance of him getting in a top 4 team so he needs to find a team that has a chance of getting somewhere. The only teams that have a vague chance of getting there are Villa/Man City. The reason Man City have a chance is because of money, yes, but thats not why he's going there imo. Anyone who thinks a move to Man City is a 'sideways' move from Newcastle United in its current state, is deluded. I totally agree. Some very petty barbs being thrown at an NUFC legend in this thread imo. I take your point but I don't think he's acted like an 'NUFC legend' this month. In fact I'd go so far as to say he's been a bit of a snidey, sly, underhanded, devious little cunt this month to be totally honest. If he wanted away he should have said so straight away imo. I understand why he wants away and I'm annoyed he's felt it necessary to want a move though.

    The Mackems Game

It's odd that them winning on Tuesday could actually work in out favour. They're 3 points ahead of us and I reckon they'd probably settle for a draw to keep that 3 point gap. That might affect their attitude and they might just play it a bit cagey when we'd normally expect them to just bomb on and go for it. Or maybe I'm over-analysing things a bit...
  11. In exchange for £17m? I think I'll cope like. Money doesn't help us on the pitch though does it? No it doesn't but that's an awful lot of money for those 2 imo. Obviously it needs to be reinvested back into the team.
  12. In exchange for £17m? I think I'll cope like.
  13. Every silver lining has a cloud eh? Fuck me.
  14. Finally handed one in on the 30th Jan. Fucking hell. If he'd have handed one in 4 weeks ago then he might already be at City.
  15. Pleased it's gone through. Also slightly encouraged that they've opened their eyes and are trying to do something about it. Nolan alone isn't the answer and we still need another 2 perhaps but it's a start.
  16. I've backed him for a long time but this takes the piss. Sooner he fucks off the better.
  17. He's better than Butt and he might get a few from midfield. If the fee/wages are fairly small then it's a decent enough signing.
  18. Good point. After losing what should have been the easiest win of the season tonight, what can we hope for now. Exactly. Every other team that has played City has beaten them. We lost against them. We don't deserve to be allowed to even play the fucking sport, let alone win a game or two.
  19. We should just write to the FA and ask them to relegate us. No point even trying to stay up - we're definitely going down so why even bother turning up. There's just no point. Let's just admit we're the worst team in the league and ask to finish 20th. They'd be doing us a favour tbh.

    The Mackems Game

We desperately need a win from somewhere. Don't give a shit how we do it but we need to beat this lot on Sunday. Set-piece, dodgy penalty, own goal, deflected free-kick, something like that to give us something to build on. Get in front and the crowd should see us home. Got to keep battling every week if we want to stay up.
  21. Fucking wasters. They've probably done it on purpose. And they earn loads of money.

    Relegationometer

and Hull. and Sunderland. and Blackburn. Blackburn will grit themselves away from it imo. Hull will probably alright aswell i reckon - blatantly a confidence team. When they get a win from somewhere they'll probably stay fairly solid. Mackems, maybe - but they've got Kenwyne Jones. So do you think that Portsmouth, Blackburn, Sunderland, Boro and Hull will ALL finish above us? Do i think we'll get relegated, you mean? It's too early to tell yet - but like i said in that other post - if we lose to the Mackems i think yeah, we probably will. I said it's between us, Pompey and Boro for 18th. Blackburn, Mackems and Hull - yeah - i think they'll finish above us most likely. Putting our woeful away record aside, three of our remaining home games are against the top four (hence the 'if we lose to Sunderland' comment). Gonna be tight as fuck, like. No, I asked you if you could see all of those teams finishing above us. Because if we finish above just one of them, we stay up in my opinion. I still reckon we've got enough about us to finish above at least one of that lot plus WBA and Stoke. If you disagree then fair enough. Finish below Portsmouth, Blackburn, Sunderland, Boro and Hull = Relegation imo. To which i say, i'll tell you after the Mackem game. That's exactly what I've just said. Right. You asked me - do you think we'll finish below that lot? I said - you mean, 'do you think we'll get relegated?' To which you said - 'no, actually i said, etc etc...' Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Never mind. I'm simple orite. "Because if we finish above just one of them, we stay up in my opinion." was the key sentence like. Never mind.
