tbh harper has always been a valuble asset. if at any time harper's presence because a hinderance to us, like shola's is, and he turned down the chance to leave, do you really think we'd be defending him then? we've always known harper was a good keeper, and been perfectly happy for him to stay, even though he doesn't get a game, because of this, and if we sold him we'd need to get a replacement, who might cost more, and be worse than him. we'll need to replace shola, whether he goes or not, because he's s****. Both have spent loads of time purely as back-up. The odd run of games here and there but never established as first choice. Harper may have cracked it this time however. They've both just stuck it out but Harper is praised for his loyalty but lets just see how much s*** Shola gets for, possibly, turning down a move. Has Harper ever been the subject of actual bids we've accepted though or just papertalk bids? We'll never be sure but I'm guessing a few bids have come in for him at one stage or another over the past 6 seasons or so. Difference surely being that we've always been happy to have a guy like Harper knocking around in case of injury? I doubt he's on anything like excessive wages, and a reliable sub keeper is always handy to have around. Shola on the other hand is clearly surplus to requirements. He's not seen as good enough, even in a back-up role, and we seem to really want rid of him, and have a chance to get great money for him while we're at it. I'm not gonna crucify Shola for turning it down, don't see why he should have to live in a place that he doesn't like just to appease us, but I don't think his situation is that similiar to Harper's tbh. Fair enough I suppose. Harper is a much better keeper than Shola is a striker so in that respect he's more valuable. The pair have both shown a chronic lack of ambition by not moving on though. One gets praised and the other gets panned. Never mind - I always thought this move would break down but I thought it would be Pulis coming to his senses not Shola being scared to move away.

When Steve Harper does exactly the same thing it's called 'loyalty'.

I highly doubt the biggest football club on the planet will just disappear tbh.

The big soft tart.

I mean doing it publicly.

What a particularly shitty way to treat a manager. If he's going to make a change then there's a way to go about it. To offer the job to Scolari before sacking Sven is bang out of order. Quite like City but Shinawatra is a wanker.

Utter drivel.

Nikola Zigic. 6 foot 7 and hard as a coffin nail.

He's brought all this on himself. You'll probably get panned for that but I tend to agree. He should have chosen his words much better and kept schtum about things that he knew would be twisted. In all of the interviews he gave he spoke an awful lot of sense and was very honest (perhaps too honest) and spoke from the heart. But he should have known the rags would go to town and cherry-pick the quotes they wanted to back up their negative spin. The context of the remarks have been missed completely.

Good attacking football and a top half finish.

I've got a good one. Abolish the Champions League and revert back to the European Cup format. 128 teams from various leagues and make it a 2 legged knock-out competition. Fuck seedings. So if Man U draw Milan in the second round, one of them is out and doesn't rake in as much money. The best team will win it every year and more teams will get further and earn more money than they ordinarily would have under this league system which means the big clubs can afford a slip-up or 2. It's a bit radical I know...

Majestic play by Ameobi.... *fingers still crossed*

Got the Stoke game on. 75 minutes away from making a £4m profit on Ameobi. *crosses fingers*

The thread is about us...

True though, you could see it drain him. Dixon kicked the shit out of him all game and the ref did nowt. He retaliated and got sent off. That was the start of his 'persecution complex' and he was never the same.
-
Ginola was never the same after he got sent off at Arsenal in the League Cup. It affected him badly imo. Edit: Fucking hell Mick!
-
Henry had the touch of a rapist when he joined Arsenal as well. Bollocks.

You mean 13 No. The gap between Shearer and Cole is 73. The gap between Cole and #10 on the list is 74. Took me a while too.

Wonder how many other players have put 14 past Man Utd?

Mellberg, Sorensen and Moore are going. I think we need GK RB x 2 LB RM Striker. At least. It's a long summer this year though. Plenty of time for bosses to scout during the Euro's.
