every two years. This is what bugs me. It should be 4 years. Why? Make it more prestigious. An African player can realistically take part in 6 ANC's whilst he could only play in the world cup 3 times. Don't you think that African football needs a bit more exposure?

the stick shearer got from the press when he played for england was unbelievable, especially from the mirror which had a long running vendetta against him. then as soon as he retired they were all fawning over him and begging him back. needless to say they're cunts. Harry Harris in particular. blueyes.gif

Genuinely think Ashley's made a massive rick in going for Redknapp. He's not a bad manager by any stretch but he's a wheeler-dealer. A loaner and a scrimping and scratching about manager. Which is fine and he's done remarkably well at Portsmouth........but he's not a 'spender'. I very much doubt he'll attract the quality we all want up here. If Ashley's going to splash out big style then why go for Redknapp. He should have gone for the fillet steak but he's chosen fucking SPAM fritters.

Feel like someone's kicked me square in the knackers...

I'm actually quite enjoying not knowing what's going on tttt. If nothing is coming out of the club it means that things are happening behind the scenes which is exactly where the business should be conducted. The shit-stirring hacks on Fleet Street are guessing because they're getting nothing from Mort and it's fantastic. They will undoubtedly have pissed off fans of Portsmouth, Everton and Blackburn too by linking their bosses this morning too.

Chances of it being Redknapp are negligible imo. He's settled at Pompey and he's got them punching way above their weight. There's no way he'll leave all that and uproot his family 350 miles North. Hughes is an option I suppose but I'd be surprised if he left Blackburn for us. Wouldn't be much of an upgrade for us. McClaren is out of the question. The negative publicity he attracted whilst failing miserably with England means he won't get another job at a big club for the rest of his career. Got a feeling it's a biggie tbh.

Really hope you're right. Or you owe me money.

Given the sudden nature of Allardyce getting binned, I think someone's already in the frame. Not sure who it is but I've got a stupid feeling it's someone you don't say 'no' to.

Why would the chairman tell the manager he has to sell a player? anyone Stop being pedantic. You know what I mean. I'm not being pedantic, it was a genuine question. I hope Ashley is not going to restrict trading to one-out-one-in. And I don't think Martins would raise a great deal anyway. He's probably the most valuable player we have? Who do you think we'd bet more money for? Charlie, Given, Duff, Owen and possibly Milner, Beye and Taylor. I don't think we'll find anyone quite as stupid as we were to pay big money for a lad who struggles to do the basics of the game.

Pants down and assume the position. They're going to tear us a new hoop.

McClaren would be the ultimate nightmare scenario...

Think big. Act big. Be big.

Parky has made out a good case. It's all about needing to get the better players, and make no mistake about it, they will go to who pays them the most and convinces them they have the most ambition, these 2 points being linked as part of the bigger picture. Since when did having the best players guarantee you success? We can see that isn't the case with the clubs who are currently hovering around the 6th place position. It's a canny 'rule of thumb' tbf.

;D ;D if it wasn't for level 7 this season then the atmosphere would be dead what is your problem with the toon ultras The Corner and the back of the Gallowgate make the most 'significant' noise, fair play yous go for it for the majority of the game, but so does the corner Where do you sit?

We aren't even close to been in the same league as Chelsea and Arsenal mate, he's a very good player, end of. We never will be signing crap like him. ban this guy please. Chelsea sold him because contract was expiring and wasn't going to extend it! despite being a fringe player never really failed to impress You could always just ignore him. Just an idea like...
-
Would fit in quite nicely but I can't see Wenger letting him go on the cheap.

I'd accept 2 million smarties for the useless fucker tbh.

It's roughly what we need to spend. I wouldn't whine if we spent £70m net over the next couple of windows of course as that would be enough to set us on the way. Is it there? Ashley and Mort are winners and I'm sure they want to compete and MA has made noises about wanting to compete when he took over. The Allardyce part I'd rather refrain from commenting on at this point mate. blueyes.gif That's the crux of it for me. If the money's there, why isn't it being spent? The first thing alex said after City was that it was time to back him or sack him and he was/is spot on. Either give him the cash and cross your fingers or get shot and back the new guy to the hilt. The talent is out there and the likes of Elano are willing to go and play in the fucking Ukraine - they'd come here without a shadow of a doubt.

Is there £100,000,000 available to spend though Parky? More importantly, is £100,000,000 there to spend for Allardyce? Agree with the sentiments of the OP though. We need to attract 4 or 5 top, top players as a sign of intent. Getting the first one through the door will be the hardest though.

Is it true that this is Chelsea's first away draw in 2 years? Surely not?
