Not much blame can be apportioned to Bridge if someone comes along and snaps his fucking ankle though, is there? Unlucky? Yes. Injury prone 'perma-crock' ? No.
-
Not really his fault when some 'no-mark thug' breaks his ankle in the FA Cup and he spends the better part of a year to get back to where he was...

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=477189&CPID=8&clid=4&lid=&title=BIG+SAM+WANTS+BIG+STOPPERS is the link but it glosses over the remarks that I found interesting. He basically seemed a bit frustrated that a few of his targets had slipped through the net because the new owners hadn't moved quick enough. He said it was understandable because they were new to the sport but they'd have to act quicker in the future. Sort of a thinly-veiled dig and a hint that they need to move faster in the market.

Might have just been me getting hold of the wrong end of the stick, but that's how I interpreted it.

Where have people seen this, by the way? Is it on SSN? Was. Some time ago. You've missed it but I'm sure it'll be on again.
-
Didn't see that bit. I doubt he would have meant it like that though before people start cursing the new owners. Probably meant the new owners didn't move into the club quick enough. Nope. He was canny explicit in what he meant imo.

Karma, baby.

Thought the comment about the new owners not acting quick enough to secure a few players was interesting. We've missed out on a couple of Allardyce's targets because they didn't move quickly enough apparently.

To be fair its hardly the most welcoming place is it? If you didn't know what it was like I would imagine after your third post you would think they were all a bunch of c***s and would never go back! The foreign lad on here apparently got a load of abuse for being exactly that! thats the craic though if you don't like it f*** off Never been on. Are they all as funny as you? have a look the might teach you and your cronies how to have a bit banter It's not 'banter' like. Just shit craic from people who've got nowt to say and say it too loudly.

What's wrong with it? It's full for a start! Nothing wrong with a bit of character in a stadium. It's full of fans in a country that isn't one of the wealthiest around and not a Stade de France type job. Vive la difference!

Should bring the Argies out of their shell.

Professionals of such age and experience should require less motivation from others..? I just think that players like Butt and Owen won't be inspired by a young lad who has achieved nothing in the game. They've actually won stuff and collected medals. He's not even become a regular starter for Newcastle and suddenly, he's their captain! Just seems a bit fucked up imo. They shouldn't need to be inspired though? I often giggle at the John Terry comparisons that often show up, but the same thing did wonders for him. One other point of view is that the influence of a captain doesn't really mean much any more these days? I hope I'm wrong. Honestly. I just think certain players won't react positively to him trying to get them going before or during a match. I think it's a bit too much, too soon for the lad and I'd prefer it if he just concentrated on ironing out the errors in his own game rather than trying to sort out and organise people around him. Anyway, fuck it - the Copa America is just about to kick off.
-
Love watching both teams involved so I'm hoping it's a good game with both sides going for it. Fingers crossed.
-
I'll put money on it that he'll have a go at any of them. Aye, but how will they react?

Nothing against the lad but how the fuck is he supposed to motivate Owen, Given, Solano, Butt, Viduka and Carr? Will they respect/listen to him? I know I fucking wouldn't if I were them. He's a decent player who'll get better but is he the right person to get Butt and Owen going before a match? Is he going to lift Viduka if he misses a chance or two during a match? Don't think so!

Was for a while, they sold it to ESPN though. It's still part of the Setanta pack for now. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASN Never knew that... Could sway the decision. blueyes.gif
