realistic summer targets 2009.................autumn 2009

Isn't the problem that people want an owner that will be able to put money into the club (i.e not Ashley or Freddy), wouldn't a fans' consortium do just the opposite? We wouldn't be able to plug the club with money if needed, which it probably would. I don't see the parachute payment and the money from player sales being enough to stablise us. Yeah, I know and I agree. The hypothetical Real/Barca scenario would be more beneficial in the long-run. Even if we are condemned to the Championship for a couple of years, if we can become financially stable and viable, then promotion into the Premiership will mean that we can actually spend money too because of our fanbase. We're not like other teams who need someone to shoulder their spending sprees. The infrastructure at the club is still very strong. We've got a short-run financial problem. If this can be solved, then a Real/Barca style ownership is possible. The Barca model is fine, if you're a club with the money printing ability of Barca. The fan ownership model is an ideal, and it is hard to pick at the principles behind it, it would be a beacon for the rst of football in many ways. But, you;d still be competing against clubs bankrolled by rich owners. 10k average extra punters through the door over your competitors makes little difference these days. That's why football is intrinsically f***ed. Manchester City, 250m transfer budgets, buying everything on the planet capable of standing up, etc etc etc. football isn't fucked. football as a competition is however i can see a renaissance of localism coming.

Find the threads on Smith,Nolan,Raylor and Duff and that blows your theory right out the window Aye but we hate them cos they're s***, whereas Martins is class and we hate him cos he's black, innit. Innit? Imho Martins is a s*** centre Forward and after 35 years watching the toon you get a good chance to compare them and rate them contribution wise and tbh Martins is s*** up there with Billy Rafferty ,Ray Clarke to name but 2 oh i i almost forgot A'@~?i but thats not really safe to say now hyperbole

that will be the small print he'll try to hide......just like was done to him. He only had to look at the accounts that anyone can download, which were even more detailed when we were a plc. Staggering that he didn't even ask the question. what wasn't in those accounts were the terms in which any loans had to be repaid.

This is utter bollocks. If he was in a better team he'd still be a useless t*** who can't control a ball, can't pass and couldn't finish his f***ing dinner. If he got a lot more chances in front of goal, all it would do is give him a chance to come up with new ways to squander them. Honestly, anyone who's watched this lad play for Newcastle on a regular basis, and who still thinks that he's a good footballer, should find another sport to watch. Cos football is not the game for them. Anyone who's watched this lad play for Newcastle on a regular basis.... have seen Martins have had to work far to much back home than what's ment for a striker, because of the mess back there.... i've watched him fairly regular...his movement is cack regardless of wether he is dropping back or pushing up.

"told you so,everything was just peachy before he came in"

the problem is that if you agreed what ashley was doing at the start then for some, you agree with everything he does. they can't understand that they can do well or do something you agree with then do something rotten or that you don't agree with. ashley came in with the idea that we couldn't keep going financially the way we were and that the club has never developed it's talent especially when other clubs are saving millions on transfer fees by bringing through quality youngsters........i agree with him kinnear, not spending (even if only to protect his investment) when relegation seemed more likely than not.....i disagreed with him. it's not too dissimilar with players. those that defend players who aren't doing it because they are their favourites are fools. don't have faves, praise anyone when they play well and slag off when they don't.
-
those transfer window profits (monies that haven't actually been paid yet) wont even be enough to cover the losses from those seasons. the club was running at a loss.

someone has to be interested first

Thanks Merlin this is what it means to me. Thanks for understanding everything. it would depend on what fred learned from last time.

No season ticket= less money for club= more chance of someone else getting laid off Using that logic. No season ticket = less money for club = more money for another part of the economy = new jobs. Yeah, but the lad was angry at lay offs at our club. Spending money at Pizza hut instead is unlikely to help the poor folk we've just laid off. By the same logic the football merry go round may have just created some extra jobs in Burnley, so I suppose that makes things ok?? The fact is if we don't continue to supprt the club, it will lose revenue and more people could be laid off. Conversely, if we get behind it (financially and in terms of physical support) then we've got more chance of going back up and these people might get their jobs back. It may have passed you by but lots of people across the region are losing their jobs. Is there any reason why we should care less about them than employees of NUFC? Perhaps we should all get a loan from Northern Rock and buy a Nissan? It may have escaped your attention but the original poster to whom I was responding said he wasn't renewing because of THESE redundancies. Check your ground before the condescending act. That way you won't make such a knob of yourself Childish insults, the last resort of the desperate. is he right in what he says though ?

if you want to whinge at that you'll also have to say you don't want nufc to be succesful. very sad, unfortunate, but true strange interpretation. if you'd rather pay sales staff than give the money to players.
