good times man. Ive not been away for years but its whetting my appetite. same here. my last away was the 3-1 defeat at charlton (scott parker scored a screamer for us) but i'm looking at a few next season.
-
i think the away games next season could take on a right party atmosphere. (regardless of results)
-
tbf all he's said is what most would say even if they wanted away. he's not asked to be away so if he does move he gets more money. i'll be happier come the first of september.

just stick a "G" in front of the wording you already have.
-
it should be. in shearers position i'd want convincing they have the desire and will to carry out what i think needs doing.
-
if the big pow wow was today you'd have thought the situation regarding the manager may have been mentioned. has anything been decided ? when ashley is sorry mistakes could he also be saying sorry for mistakes made in todays meeting ? is this meeting to be carried on tomorrow ?

Don't think anyone is saying anything other than fair play to him. I'm one of his biggest crtics but I think that's a pretty good statement and it took a lot of bottle. We don't need more uncertainty with the ownership of the club right now. We need stability, if a takeover takes place I hope to god it's fast and slient. The mian thing he needed to do first of all was to sort out the management of the club and again fair play to him, he's begun doing that just 48 hrs after the season ended. If by the end of the week he's secured Shearer as manager then he should be congratulated, his next task is to let Shearer get on with it and back the man to the hilt. means nowt if not backed up with the required actions.

i'm just very wary of goalscorers from lower leagues who don't look particulalrly good. it's only his record that suggests he can score goals at a higher level as opposed to anything i've seen on the pitch (again i'll point out i've probably seen him play only about 6 times in a couple of seasons)
-
is it the statement on posted on .cock or a upcoming statement regarding shearer ?
-
not at all sure about him. great scoring record at that level but even there he doesn't seem like that good a footballer (from my limited viewing of him).
-
anyone care to state what sites they use and more particularly do they carry live football to watch. if so which leagues/competitions. particularly trying to get norwegian/swedish games for the summer.

Why? I don't think he has the talent to compensate for his lack of technique. If our CM next season is Butt-Nolan I'd be very worried. he's got the talent and technique...hasn't got the legs or the players round him to make up for it. Sorry, my comment was meant to read 'he hasn't got the talent/technique to make up for his lack of fitness/mobility/speed. it would be interesting to see him in the championship with a team of movement around him. on those wages and with those questionmarks i'd rather not take the risk though.

prett sure PSG is pencilled in as part of the rozenhal deal.

our recruitment policy should focus on the right players. What was made painfully aware Sunday was the lack of fitness and youth in the team, Villa could have gone on for another 10 minutes our lot looked like they were running on empty. fitness has little to do with youth.

Alternatively it could be that we've not had a solid midfield in 5 years & end up inviting pressure on our defence leading to more & more last ditch tackles, etc. When a striker makes a mistake it doesn't usually get punished too badly, but when a defender makes an error it usually leads to an opposing player being put through on goal. You can get away sometimes, but constant pressure means more potential mistakes and when you have players like Titus did I leave the iron on? Bramble in your defence those mistakes get magnified more often. Bramble has looked alright this season because he's not been put under that pressure since the Wigan midfield has been capable of keeping hold of the ball when required and offering an outlet when necessary. He's still made the same mistakes, it just hasn't happened as often. How often this season did our defenders clear the ball to the midfield only to see it fly right back at our defence because the midfield wasn't there? Too often our players were sitting so deeply they could be classed as defenders or alternatively they'd find a warm spot on the pitch and stay there despite being marked by a defender twice their size. It's why Jonas was important to the team this season, he was actually capable of running with the ball and alleviating pressure, it would have worked better if the rest of the midfield had thought about trying to keep up with him to offer an outlet for him when he got into trouble, but too often they were still wandering around the centre of defence 50 yards away from the ball. It winds me up no end when the media go on about our frail defence. It isn't really that bad, the problem is in the midfield and has been in the midfield since Speed left. Bramble's been brilliant this season. Voted their player of the year by fans and rightfully so. Their midfield is pretty woeful, especially without Palacios and he's had more defending to do this season than with us under Robson. He's just dealt with it better, he's making better decisions, his game is more refined and he has good heads around him at the back give him credit where due, despite what you and others have said about him in the past in what way is wigans midfield defensivly woeful. everytime i've seen them they've been very organised and work very hard as a unit.

did you stop to ask them why they weren't at the match ? i know tickets for our end were hard to come by.

using guesstimates, which is all we really have to go on we could easily cull £500,000 per week from the wage bill just by getting shot of the wasters. Setanta Sports yesterday were saying our annual wage bill was £65million? Is that right? 5th biggest wage bill in UK/Europe? I didn't quite catch it. if not spot on it won't be a kick in the arse off.
-
i hope you mean kinnear. can't see shearer going anywhere just yet. if not newcastle i think he'd wait a while.
-
done it before (pedros first goal for us). that was bad enough.
