  1. I doubt they are even bothered about finishing above Everton. Team finishing sixth starts the Europa League three weeks before the team in fifth, so there is some benefit. I've said this a billion times, but will say it again, we're fooking gash, you'll beat us on Sunday, I would put money on it. In fact, I have. It is other results you need to be looking at, though. I am mentally incapable of not wanting us to win football matches. At the end of the day, if we beat you and you go down, it won't be our fault you went down. It won't happen, though, so this is wasted typeage. And typeage isn't even a proper word. Word. thats gonna have to be your sig as from monday. What, all four lines? Meh well take the first one out. it's a sign of what football has become when i've had more arguments this season with people saying "nah,we're shiter than you" than trying to saying we are better.

That's because he doesn't have a clue what to do with it, and can't dribble worth a s****. Not sure how that has anything to do with his quickness though. Thats the point though, speed is only an asset if you can use it, but too many people quote it as one of his best assets when the reality is that there isn't any benefit from the fact that he can run fast. Kieron Dyer, now he was genuinely quick, and when fit would piss on Martins from the top of the Gallowgate. Kieron Dyer was a worse player than Oba though... No he wasn't, we just had really high expectations at the time and he was always injured. He was like, at least Oba can hold people off the ball on he can score from all over the place with all parts of his body. Martins has more strength, power, pace and ability than Dyer. Firstly, whereas I was comparing how Dyer and Martins used their pace, you are comparing them as strikers, and Dyer was a midfielder. Secondly, Martins might do the occasional thing that looks good and impressive, but the fact is we are playing with ten men with him most of the time, whereas Dyer was an extremely important contributor to a team that played in the Champions League. Oba Martins will never be good enough to be a regular starter for a top 6 side. Thirdly, is it a coincidence that Martins only good spell of form at the club (the winter months of his first season), he was playing alongside a fit Dyer? I just think the only reason Dyer looked useful was a) because of the players around him and b) because of his pace and the spaces made for him to run into. At present we have no-one looking to produce the killer pass, no-one who can physically produce the killer pass and a strike force who have rarely consistently played alongside one another - therefore lacking in understanding one anothers movement. Kieron Dyer had a number of intelligent players around him and pacey players too, their movement and creativity and the ability to produce the killer pass was what made him a good Midfielder. Imagine if we had Solano, Shearer, Bellamy, Woodgate, Speed, Robert in our current team, Martins would look far better. The one thing I would agree on however, is that Dyer has a better first touch. No it wasn't like that at all, it was Dyer and his running on the ball that created the space that Solano Robert and Shearer could exploit. In that team, Robson would have realised what a one-dimensional, selfish player he was, and shipped him out. i remember dyer being quite shite a lot of the time especially when played in the middle. he often only came into games in the last 15mins when play was getting stretched a bit.

Bit harsh if Villa won 6-1 and got fined for playing a weak side like. i thought that was sandy mutch in goal and was sure he was nearly always a first choice, but on wiki-ing it turns out he got a ban knee injury "just before the final"....wonder if it was in that game ?

That's because he doesn't have a clue what to do with it, and can't dribble worth a s****. Not sure how that has anything to do with his quickness though. he can dribble, he'll often take on 2 or 3 opposition players and get past him but it's usually in midfield then he plays a poor ball from that situation and makes poor movement afterwards.

An article in the Mirror today said much the same thing. I did chuckle though when he counted Ji-Sung "guaranteed starter in the final" Park in amongst the kids. What I wouldn't give for a player like him. not spectacular enough for many but he,like fletcher have been invaluable to man utd this season.
  8. let us win and we'll not destroy every phone box in your city. we have form.
  9. fyp screenshots in more than one sense.
  10. He was one of our best signings. To date. As I said Milito is good, Motta I'm still undecided ,to me you don't need another defensive midfielder you need a creator. Cannavaro to Juventus mate. I have family from Turin so Juve have always played a part in my Football life. i've got family from carlisle but......................anyway we'll not re dig up that argument eh?

Nah its just called common sense. Thats why all you ever do is whine about me posting, instead of being able to argue against it. Bit embarassing for you. isn't it embarassing for you that you've basically had your tongue up Owen's arse for the last 4 months and he's proved you wrong, game after game if you had a brain youd get why that sentance you posted is moronic several of us have presented perfectly good arguments about Owen, you just don't acknowledge them totally different players with differing attributes, neither of which should hold their heads high at the end of the season. We're not even comparing owen to martins at this point, just arguing about the same old crap about Owen being crap/good. ok....back in an hour or so then
  13. beautifully put tmonkey. i doubt even given the patience to write such a long post i could have put it so well.

  15. Depending on the manner the published accounts are audited (if it is even audited), it might not always be an accurate reflection of the business in question. Sadly, in the society we're living in, integrity is not always present when it comes to commercial business. Again, pardon me for my skepticism. Nonetheless, I do agree with Dave when he mentioned that, ''What we do know is that Ashley's tenure has been an utter disaster and only a tiny proportion of it is not of his (or the people he appointed/employed) own doing.'' not just the accounts as published under the ashley era but those published in the latter days of the fred era aswell.
  16. I can agree with the statement in bold. However, correct me if I am wrong, there isn't any concrete proof of us being financially unsound except for the words of Ashley and his management. Besides, it would be to Ashley's advantage to depict the previous management in a bad light in order to validate his claim that he (Ashley) was a savior to the club and contributing to the rebuilding of the club at that point in time where the statements were first made and/or constantly reiterated. Certainly, I do admit that I am prejudiced against Ashley at this point in time, hence for my skepticism. the published accounts (off the pitch) the teams performances (on the pitch)
  17. Wouldn't disagree too much with that assessment. Just remember to hand a few % to good 'ol Fred. Ashley forfeited the right to blame Shepherd when he admitted he'd not even checked the books tbh. We certainly weren't going anywhere good but Ashley's tenure has accelerated our downfall more than any of us could imagine. I'm pretty sure Otter is referring to THIS mess. Hmmmm don't know bout that like. there's a fair few think sam would have took us down and with where fred had us financially.....well, at least as bleak as it is now. ashley may have forfeited the right, doesn't mean we weren't in that position. I'm not saying we weren't s*** before Ashley came in, far from it. Unfortunately though we'll never know whether we'd have gone down this fast. What we do know is that Ashley's tenure has been an utter disaster and only a tiny proportion of it is not of his (or the people he appointed/employed) doing. Us being in the s*** financially beforehand doesn't explain or excuse the vast majority of the catastrophic decisions he and his people have made. no argument on most of that.
