everyone likes to see the big clubs come unstuck. if it were spurs or everton i'd think it hilarious so there's no reason why they shouldn't. i don't go with this feeling of "best to have the big clubs in the top league" thing either. give wigan 10 years in the prem and us 10 years out of it and we'll not be bigger. the big clubs in the big league type thinking is a self fulfilling prophecy.

It'd get a bit congested on the left. could play ginola through the middle as he did play there very well on a couple of occasions. thats one of the reasons he gets my vote. he was more affective than people think because he took the pressure off our defence when he got the ball in a way robert couldn't and i just think he caused the opposition more problems than robert and was much better to watch. kept purely to stats robert probably edges it.

i'd like it to be taylor as he's the only one,despite going way over the top at times,who seems to have been bothered throughout the season. i'd expect it to be martins.

Yep. I've said this for the best part of two years now. It's so frustrating knowing he has the talent but doesn't know how to use it. Similar to what I remember Solano saying about Dyer, something like if he had Nobby's brain to go with his pace he'd be one of the worlds best, and Solano would be one of the worlds best if he had Dyer's pace to go with his brain. I think Dyer had a canny footballing brain. he did when he played up front but he didn't have the talent for it he had the legs for midfield but not the nouse. would probably have been perfect behind a shearer type in a 4-2-3-1.

i'm now of the opinion it doesn't matter who we play or they play....it's down to destiny.

watched him play for larissa against panathanaikos the other day,very nearly scored. I dunno why anyone would include Dabizas, he was a ******* liability! no he wasn't. not a top draw player by any stretch but easy premier quality, a leader by inspiration,not a bad ball player and i think he may be our top scoring centre half of all time (or at least in the premiership era) We've had plenty of players who were Premier League quality and better than Dabizas. Just seems like a weird one to include for me. not right now when we have a bunch who don't appear to give much of a shit. of all the players we've had in the premiership era, he's the one who could always be relied on to give everything. i saw him try to hobble back on and play with his knee cap a coiuple of inches further down that it should be and not pointing the direction it should be.........................also he played alongside o'brien and bramble when we finished 3rd.

If Dyer was limited, then the players that we currently have could only be described using very politically incorrect words. I remember Dyer used to come in for enormous stick on this site before he left and I used to make the same point as you, without him we'd lose any dynamic movement. Well today look where we are and what do we lack? Martins falls into a similar category. Not the cleverest player, but so far ahead of the rest of the dross assembled here as our squad, it seems pointless even having this debate. martins movement is atrocious. players with far less raw speed get themselves into better positions more often. I was shocked to see him make a run behind the defenders against fulham, must be one of the first times it's happened this season (hit the post chance). Maybe Al has had a word with him. a player with his speed should be playing off the centre half and pulling to the gap between centre half and full back,instead he drops far too deep so his speed is nullified.

who has been good at passing this season ?. it's as much down to lack of intelligent movement than any technical problem with the passer.
