Only just came back to me today that Everton missed relegation by beating Wimbledon 3-2 on the last day. Weren't they 2-0 down at one stage as well? Yes they were. I think it was one of the games in which the enquiry looked into Hans Seger's performance i knew there was something iffy about it. it had been bugging me as to what. i'm sure sky had a top 10 dodgy games thing a while back and that was one...as was our 3-0 home win over liverpool and sunderlands going down when coventry delayed there kick off by a while.

last game of the season, one team with something to play for one team without, i wouldn't bet on this game as an outsider, think west ham winning at old trafford (then again they had the tinsiest bit fight about them)

strange as i thought the song was about walking away from a pointless fight. You need to take the original meaning out of the song, and put the context of our relegation battle as the meaning. Called imagination wouldn't i need to change all the words bar the chorus to do that ? Only this verse doesn't fit, so no. And its true we are immune When fact is fiction and tv reality And today the millions cry We eat and drink while tomorrow they die did you forget..... Broken bottles under childrens feet Bodies strewn across the dead end street But I wont heed the battle call It puts my back up Puts my back up against the wall and And the battles just begun Theres many lost, but tell me who has won The trench is dug within our hearts And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apart Nope, you just move the setting of the song. And the battles just begun (either as starting anew in the Championship, or in relation to rebuilding after staying up.) Theres many lost, but tell me who has won (If we go down for instance.) The trench is dug within our hearts (If we go down) And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apart (In sadness of relegation) And that's just scratching the surface. If done in a video compilation of crying fans/players realizing defeat walking around on the pitch with the fans in the background, it'd be a great fit. It'd also work as a come-back video thing, with sadness first from going down, and then go for the fightback emotions. If you'd want to use songs for stuff, you need to take them out of their original context and put them in a new context which works just as well. You couldn't have music in films/tv shows if you could only use them in places where their original context was met. i can't see it that way. 2nd line as you quoted "but tell me who has won" only means one thing. more interested in your twist on the first verse i quoted.

It'd get a bit congested on the left. could play ginola through the middle as he did play there very well on a couple of occasions. thats one of the reasons he gets my vote. he was more affective than people think because he took the pressure off our defence when he got the ball in a way robert couldn't and i just think he caused the opposition more problems than robert and was much better to watch. kept purely to stats robert probably edges it. I could never understand why Ginola wasn't used through the middle more at the time, especially during his season under Dalglish. He was exceptionally creative although he was guilty of showboating too much at times. i'd watched a bit french footy before he came here and he never really played midfield but seemed to play up front and very wide, the way stoichkov did at barce. what some on here don't realise (possibly cos they only have the tv to go on due to age and yes i know opinion between even those who waqtched both live is split) is the way the pressure dropped off as soon as he got the ball in a way it didn't with robert. it's very hard to quantify and explain beyond i watched them both live and i'd take ginola everytime.

you were 7 when he left us. How did you see enough of him in a toon shirt to decide that? tbh. Plus, television did exist back then you know. You don't have to see a player in the flesh to decide if they're good or not. yes but if it is close the more you've seen, over 90mins away from highlights and off the ball gives another perspective. i wouldn't feel comfortable if in giving an opinion between gerry daly or sammy mcilroy even though i saw them both on tele a bit. Wey it's not fair to say Robert's better just because I know more about him and have seen him more in my time. That'd make Ameobi better than Andy Cole to me. theres a difference. a certain section may agree with the former whereas you'd certainly sectioned if you agreed with the latter.

the more i watch martins the more i think we should just have kept lomano lua lua.

who knows if shearer hadn't got thatt long term injury and JDT could have played and settled in in his more natural position.

one of the few to follow up free kicks incase the keeper spills it aswell. scored more than one for us that way. I actually only remember one tbh, Chelsea away in 2001 was it only the one. thought he got more that way. stiil always follwed up and was very close a good few times.

That's very smart. Bookies will award for joint top scorer, non? thats what i'm gonna check. also i want to make sure anelka will start. edit. apparently if for example i had £20 on aronaldo to be top scorer and it is a tie with one other player then it's classed that £10 went on the wining bet and £10 on the loser. (thats betfair rules) Weird. Wonder what other book maker policies are - for example, Will Hill has Anelka at 1/2, Ron at 6/4 and Stevie at 16/1. If ties aren't accepted there, then Ronaldo shouldn't be available given his exclusion from the Manure Squad. It's not the same scheme you were working but 1/2 odds on Gerrard not scoring a hat-trick seems like something one might be willing to lump on. You can always hedge it with a Gerrard win too. That's provided they don't have a similar policy to Betfair. ties are accepted just they don't pay out as a straight forward win. the main thing is that anelka has to score to win it outright and he is much better odds to score at anytime in the match than he is to win the leading goalscorer.

none of them were let go of needlessly but true...none of them were replaced with an improvement.

thats how many have done it. i, on the otherhand being more thoughtful than the average cretin made the distinction of putting in players as they are today. hence, given, bellamy, woodgate and gary speed. Speed? yes speed. i'd have had him in this season instead of nolan, butt or guthrie even at 39.

to break it in ?

fair enough, he could have finished better or worse than he did. Regardless he made the right run, he got a good chance & came very close to giving us the lead. This suggests shearer didnt get it wrong in starting him. Theres no reason to believe lovenkrands or anyone else would have come closer than that beyond wishful thinking. can we use that excuse for owen against pompey ?

The likes of Wigan aren't bigger then some Championship clubs are now and I can't see how they ever will be. they are now bigger than the likes of forest in all but history. huddersfield were once a big club and bolton were one of the biggest in the country. blackpool were big aswell. Well they're more attractive by default due to being in the Premiership of course (Wigan over Forest), but that's the only reason, the moment they dropped out of the league that would change. and thats how clubs get to be seen as bigger or smaller.
-
anelka and ronaldo are both on 18 goals, gerrard on 16, so a bet on ronaldo, who's not named in the man utd squad, to win that title (2/1 betfair) and anelka to score at anytime against the mackems (5/4 betfair) will make a profit. can even cover with gerrard at 20/1 incase he grabs 2 or more
