    Sad sesh

who's up fro a sad session of beery PC watching tomorrow as window winds down. i'll have me beer, wine, snacks, tele to SSN and this place on. anyone ?
  2. got Monday. Think its only half though, noon isnt it? midnight as far as i'm aware
  3. can't be...he's in the gossy park hotel
  4. who is ikey the tinker. staking the place out just in case.
  5. not really likely is it. owen on the owen market maybe 5 to 8 million. berbatov in the open market bids start around 20mill.
  6. at the same time MO should realise we've hardly had value for money from him. i can understand him not wanting to take a pay cut but wanting a pay rise after the last 3 years takes the piss somewhat.
  7. a bloke i work with reckoned shearer was shit, stood round and just waited for everyone else to put the ball on his toe for him to punt home.
  8. from what i saw (extended highlights only) owen ,on the few occasions he got the ball, kept it quite well and found another nufc player....ameobi tripped, stumbled, fell and looked like a panto horse missing the front end.

    back barton

In my opinion Barton should show some humility, even he's wearing black'n white. What he have been in jail for is "bad stuff". If he want's to show by attitude that he's a man for NUFC, he can do it on the pitch.... BOTH. he has to ride the jeers and have the humility. admitting he has a problem and is working on it would be a start. whilst on this subject i had an argument with a mackem today about joey barton and i ended up defending barton...wanna hear a description of it and how the thick mackem couldn't understand logic ?

i'll shout "come on" when he has the ball. can't cheer his name. still think he should have been sacked on conviction

  12. what was that like? Camera focused on Ashley just after half time necking half a pint and then shuddering. Did Ashley ask for the camera to focus on him at that exact point in time? It just makes us look mickey mouse in my opinion. As I remember it our previous chairman and co-owner always wore a suit and sat in the director's box, yet he managed to make us look mickey mouse on occasion. It's his actions in the boardroom and behind the scenes that matter, not what he does at the match and we'll see what those are in due course. its what happens on the pitch that matters. Nobody can laugh at you if you qualify for europe more than the vast majority of clubs and fill a 52000 stadium every week. If they do, then the reply is quite straightforward. But in my experience, it didn't happen. Most people I knew were jealous of us when we played in the Champions League, Europe and reached 2 FA Cup Finals. If you are one of those who thinks differently, then Ashleys images today are no different to those of the ex board who "embarrassed" you. Nothing like being embarrassed as selling our best players for 30 years and being ritually humiliated in the FA Cup and League Cup by the likes of Luton, Oxford, Exeter, Hereford .......... but they werent jealous when we had souness and roeder and go backwards. why do you only highlight the goodtimes but ignore where we were and where we were going ? If you are unable to assess the qualities that wish to be successful ie a board that backs their appointments, then thats your problem. I take it you levelled the same criticism at Arsenal when they appointed Bruce Rioch, Liverpool when the appoined Roy Evans [and Souness], Chelsea when they appointed Glenn Hoddle. This is just for starters. Realism isn't ypur thing is it ? Goodnight the main quality....APPOINT A DECENT MANAGER ! good examples aswell. did they do it three times off the trot ? reality is my thing...reality was we spent 3 years going backwards and didn't look like turning it round....care to disagree with that ?

It just makes us look mickey mouse in my opinion. the double standards of some people never ceases to amaze me always makes me smile calm down NE5,if the situation we currently have is the same way come tuesday you'll have someone to say. as for the owner sitting with the fans (where he can hear their grievances) good for him. not being bullied by the press, slagging him off for it. all in all it's means nowt. Calm down yourself. I've said before that sitting with the fans with a shirt on is stupid, and I stand by it. But as I've also said before, if the board are backing their manager, this is their role. Unfortunately, they are selling him short. if the board is backing their "poor" manager and taking the club backwards ?

  16. negative spin on a board who ran a club that filled a 52,000 stadium for years and qualified regularly for europe ? Positive spin on a board who have - so far - sold a manager short and gates have gone down ? Aye, bonkers. If its your opinion its positive, and if it isn't its negative Dave ? Isn't that correct ? I'll leave this thread now, didn't mean to "hijack" it, although my opinion is these threads go into this area because - like it or not - they are topical and very much to the point. The point being the old board had time to prove their worth (and their weaknesses), yet you're not willing to give the new lot any time to prove anything. You point out only the great things the old board did, but only the poor things the new board have done. This is exactly what I'm on about. I notice you've failed to mention their biggest decision so far, which was to bring back the man you worship as manager. Why is that, I wonder. Anyway, let's leave it. Again. this really is showing all the hallmarks of going to hell but i have to pull you on this a bit dave; how much time is enough? the season starts in 2 days, do we just write it off 'cause they're still finding their feet? or perhaps better phrased do you think we should accept it being written off because they're finding their feet? (not that it's an automatic write off obviously i understand that) NE5 said elsewhere he's put his 3 years money in, doesn't he have a right, if you will, to expect something this season? next? when? when his next 3 years ST money is due? i just don't know he put his money in under souness and roeder aswell. did he complain about the way that board was taking the club ?

  18. Well mate, prior to the sale of Milner, we needed a striker and a central midfield player. Quality ones, not necessarily pricey, but accept that they may not come cheap. There is no point in saying that if someone who is the player the manager thinks will make the difference but he costs 8m quid for instance, telling him we don't have this money. That is utter bollocks. Nor should we be telling him he has to sell first, thats the point. If the Milner money is spent on a quality striker who improves the team, then I would consider it a good swap, but the overall feeling I have ref my above comments, would remain until basically they show me they are prepared to sign player for the reason of improving the team and squad as a whole when players become available and balancing the books later if necessary. I don't think we have told him to sell first. Keegan himself has said the money is there, that is a fact. I believe Keegan, do you not? I think we all know we need another striker and a couple of midfielders, in particular top drawer ones, but Rome wasn't built in a day as they say, you can't expect all of the shambles that have occurred over the past four years prior to Keegan to be fixed in one window. The Milner deal was far too good to turn down, for a player of limited ability. Well tooj, I'm going to pose a question here. If we sign a quality striker [for instance] in the next 3 days, why has it waited until the last few days if the money was already there ? I'm all for Keegan setting standards, as I would too, and I've always said its quality that counts. But they have had all summer, have they not ? In fact, this Wise, Jiminez etc have had since January to identify and find a badly needed striker. Plenty of people have made comments about "timing" etc and how things would be "better", so why not ? You can't tell me that there are loads of players out there who would be better than Ameobi and even do a good short term. This need is urgent mate. Its as urgent as anything else I can remember. I understand what Keegan is doing here. He's trying to stick to his principles and bring in quality, but the player(s) he wants are going to cost money so he's reluctant to bring in a short term buy. Somethings got to give, or we will go until January at least with what we have and throw away the chance of a good season. Good way to run a club ? Is it bollocks. how about.....because quite a lot of deals go through at the end of the window when players and clubs have a better view of their options. think owen and rooney for example. you mean to say that most clubs make panic signings and/or loan deals ? Well spotted, and thanks for proving my point. what on earth are you rattling on about. neither were panics or loans.
  19. We've got an option to buy Obinna. Surely not. Why would they sign him this summer just to loan him out and then sell him the next year? They've had part ownership of him for years. They just bought out the rest of his rights, probably to sell him for a profit. that makes more sense.

  21. type in Nacho Uraguay Looks good considering most of it is taken from one game and its not his best bits from about 200 games might have been his bestest game ever though
  22. how would it be easier to get one here ? Loan work permits are easier to get. We once had a loan work permit for Friedel. how does that mean loan permits are easier to get ?
