Has it been on yet ? No idea if the (COMPLETELY LEGAL) net stream is lagged behind live broadcast but they just played Llambias rubbishing them. and he said "we are fighting for releagtion" freudian slip ?

it's a rule i'd like to bring in, like the champs league have a limit on how many players can be registered per team to take part in the competition, teams can register maybe 20 players at the start of each season and thats what they have to get on with.

I used to love it as a kid getting into football grounds back in the eighties, the mass of fellow fans heading in the same direction. I always enjoyed the moving as one moments, feet occasionally lifting up from the ground, carried along in a sea of black and white, 'hey man, how man, hey man, how man', the smell of beer in the air, the scent of an old leather jacket pressed against my nose, always a tab burning my ear, the jokes and laughter, the slow steady movement until the light got brighter and you finally emerged with the crowd noise ringing in your ears, that sound, the sound of the match about to kick off, nothing else like it, nothing in the world. i never liked after barnsley away when i got trapped up against a wall and didn't think i'd get out. those were the times though........football fans wanted to do that and the police were quite prepared to let them. it's only when someone gets hurt that anything is thought about being done.

hamstring has been ok the last week or so.......there could be a cameo (not camisole) yet.

did the police tell all those fans to push towards the turnstiles/gate ?

It basically means administrators would come in and sell off Ashley's own assets at a fraction of their value and give the proceeds, minus there own rather large fee, to Ashley. All players would be available for next to nowt and the club would also be available for next to nowt. Unless Ashley desperately, and I mean DESPERATELY, needs a few million now I see no point in it at all. Would be better for Ashley if we went down, he pocketed a sum of the cash from player sales and then sold the club for about £100million. rubbish. he could sell them as prem players then sell the club as a prem club for more than he could as a championship club.

you'll get an answer but it will have little to do with the question and will appear as some ancient buddhist riddle.

inside the ground there was a crush caused due to it being a totally enclosed area and those at the back just entering didn't know the circumstances at the front. not so outside where they'd have known the only reason for the pushing was because of trouble getting in as there were walls preventing people getting in. not so inside where most people stand away from the front for a better view and anyone coming into the back of it would have thought there was space if those in front of them moved forward.

Everyone there contributed to being there, blame is a completely separate issue! those that contributed to the pushing etc should ask themselves if the police would have fucked up so much if it wasn't for them.
-
He forgot to put while reading Roddy Doyle books as well. "missed the match, was waiting for godot" shurely ?
-
Well put, summed it all up perfectly to me. especially the last sentence. "unwittingly contributed" is where a portion of the blame should lie.

for fucks sake...have you read a single thing i've posted..yes it was the wrong decision by the police,no-one denies this. but if it wasn't for the actions of the fans the police wouldn't have been in the position of being able to make a wrong decision.

there now that wasn't so hard was it you paranoid glory hunter you. Its a touchy subject which is why im careful about getting into it. You get ignorant people who give people grief about this sort of thing without even realising what they are talking about. Im not saying you are like that, but anyone could have just nit picked at that post and the next 3 pages would be arguments about the politics of Ireland, once again. doubt anyone would ever think to put ireland, politics and religion together.

"we" Yes.... we thought you were from northern ireland...as in born and bred there ? Im not even going to bother explaining myself to you, what is the point when you will just pick faults with whatever I say. It is also no concern of yours. Move on madras i'll only pick faults if there's faults to be picked at. You dont even know me and yet you assume so much, that is the only fault I see here. what am i assuming ? That I have no right to support the Republic and that I should be support Northern Ireland by the looks of it. you have the right to support whoever the hell you want, you'll find i'm always curious as to what reasons people have for supporting teams other than those they have more connection with. now i'll just assume you have something to hide as you appear very defensive about it.

still the fans shouldn't have been pushing and crushing to get in. as an example it used to happen at the gallowgate end at SJP. the fans were wrong to do it and the police policed it in the way of the time, walk horses into the throng and threaten to arrest anyone who said they should do something about it. if anyone got hurt there i'd have blamed the fans for pushing and the police for not stopping it...............i stopped going in the gallowgate and went to the "A" wing paddock were the crushing didn't take place to get into the ground.
-
You have to factor in the fans sent to that end with tickets for other parts of the ground, plus the huge amount of fans with tickets still to arrive (of which it appears the vast majority arrived at roughly the same time). This in itself should of been policed properly, It would of been quite clear to the authorities that there were many fans who were arriving late due to traffic problems. And I ask those that consider the ticketless fans responsible for the causing the opening of the gate - Why did the police give in to the actions of a small section of fans? You don't have to be a maths teacher to work out that adding extra people to a sold out section would be somewhat of a problem. Why did they not do their job which is to provide safety to the public, and instead make a decision which they should of known would of had huge potential safety problems? Why did they not delay the kick off to alleviate any sense of loosing control of the amount of fans trying to get in? would delaying the game of been seen as a sign of weakness by the police authorities in charge, an inability to 'keep things in order'? (i'm referring here to a comment made above that delay's were uncommon then, the officer in charge was wet around the ears according to the report, and may of not wanted to appear unable to deal with the situation, so just decided to 'let them all in'). in reply to the bit in bold...i thought it was because of the risk of people getting crushed OUTSIDE the ground. it wasn't just ticketless fans that joined the crush to get in from OUTSIDE the ground but those with tickets and those ridiculously sent there from other parts of the ground (does the taylor report say why liverpool fans with tickets for other parts of the ground were sent there ?). the police failed to stop the crushing outside the ground the fans shouldn't have been crushing outside the ground. if the fans don't do it the police don't have a decsion to make.
