  1. fookin hell leave it till the last minute and its too late then more than likely loose him in the summer well done mort . sorry getting angry now s*** timing I totally agree willow, why couldnt we have struck up a deal last week or earlier for this player, same with Giles Barnes, and Alvaro, what is an extra couple of million to a billionaire? fair enough he might have put £250m into the debts and the club but if he wants success he must know that we need players I'm inclined to doubt that he became a billionaire by throwing the odd million here and there at random things that he may not have needed. TBH I reckon if we actually wanted this lad and have made a botch of it in the way it would seem we have then I'm not overly impressed with Mort and Co. either. I just really can't stand the "Ah sure we're loaded, may as well throw it around for the laugh" attitude that some people seem to be adopting. what like buying a football club for £250m? if the management team wanted the lad then they should've been backed and we should've paid more, the price was lower than most would've expected anyway. if we're being stingy over one or two million here and there, to the extent that we'll go a whole window buying no-one and missing out on 3 or 4 targets, then it suggests reports of us having a big fund stashed away are as mythical as el dorado. Quite obviously the same thing, yeah. not the best of arguments. ashley got rich by scrimping and saving, cutting back on all costs, piling budget crap high and selling it at markups. if he takes that approach with newcastle we're heading for perennial mid-tablers, or worse. btw i'm not saying that is the approach he will take as NUFC is a lifestyle choice for him not simply a business investment. tho he shouldnt think he can sit back and relax after paying £100m paying off debt as to be successful a club has to speculate on players and infastructure rather than rest on laurels. owing nothing to banks means little if the money saved isnt then plowed back into the club and translates into increased success. but regardless, we had an opportunity to get barnes at what most would agree is a pretty bargain price, only had to offer one or two million more. we couldn't even bring that to the negotiating table, not exactly a good sign. and if the management team wanted the lad, then it is hardly "throwing the odd million here and there at random things he may not have needed". it's called backing the manager. the Kalouda deal might be down to Wise et al coming in late in the window which i will charitably put down to teething issues, but it is something they need to get sorted as similar (or one of the above) appeared to happen with the Woodgate deal too. errr. no he didnt that was his most visible outlet (sports world) others "karrimor","lillywhites" etc didnt pile it high ,sell it cheap. not to mention what he has made stock trading ie adidas, umbro and theres another recent one whos shares he sold months ago (at a profit) and has again went back and bought into again. so what you really mean is that he did, only he also owned other brands. and i didnt say pile it high sell it cheap, i said pile it high sell it at a markup which is what his stores do. they buy the premium brands (nike, adidas etc) in bulk and can sell those cheap but his own brands is where he makes his money. of course thats what i mean. as part of his portfolio, and where he started out he had the lower end of the market before expanding to other parts of the market.

  4. it's the FA we are talking about. surprised it's not triplicate parchment sent on horseback
  5. he was decent till the man citeh (a) game. always a sure touch and cleared his lines. when he had time he used the ball well. he was scapegaoted by allardyce after that game for allardyces wank tactics. he may well be a defensive thomasson.......if that shot had went in he may have made it (JDT V sheff wed-----roz V derby)
  6. if he was quoted as saying such he'd get a hammering so i doubt it. more probably spurs enquired, not even a bid, we said no.
  7. unhappy at not getting a regular game......which fotballer wouldn't be ? unhappy at being played out of what he considers to be his best position...what footballer wouldn't be ? more media frenzy out of little story
  8. decison making could be fun. "all in favour say ey ey ey"
  9. there still may be a major difference between us and arsenal. getting the players s one thing...developing them is the clever part
  10. to be honest he'll find out more watching them in domestic games and in training than this friendly
  11. sure i read that brno were insisting with juve that he had to stay till the end of the season. wonder if that still stands with us ?
  12. Aye, just the seven hours or whatever the flight is... after playing in a crucial game on the Thursday night... No chance is there, really? Aye, but the time zone's only +2 or something. He's only sitting on his arse for 7 hours (minus the two hours he gains). Wasn't meant to quote Alex, man! Senegal will have played 3 games within 7 days by the close of play tonight, with Beye and Faye playing in every single minute of them (so far). Then they're going to fly back to London from Ghana immediately, after being knocked out, get back up to Newcastle probably some time Friday afternoon and be considered to start against Boro early Sunday afternoon? The comparison with Asprilla, an attacking player, is wonky, who flew in from Italy, not to mention the fact that he came on with a few party pieces and an assist. People are clutching at straws. he'd flown in from italy, then back to italy and arrived in england on the morning of the match (iirc). where as the african would be able to get back on the friday, near 48hrs before the match. anyway looks like thay'll all be involved in the next round now.
  13. Got any translation for that mate? There is no mention of Newcastle in it so prob worthless am i being wooshed...the title of the link says "Juventus Kaloudu nezíská, Brno jedná s Newcastlem [Autor prvního gólu Luboš Kalouda z Brna se raduje v utkání 14. kola první fotbalové ligy proti Spartě Praha 25. listopadu v Brně. Vzadu zklamaný brankář Sparty Praha Tomáš Grigar.] a translation of sorts with some ot the article "WITHIN Kaloudovi nowadays Brandy jednají already solely with superintendence Newcastlu United , whoa up sports within vicemistra svta up 20 wing joined koncem bygone weeks. Brno si allegedly dvacetiletého halfback price list within of more than 130 million top. Didn't read the title Still. Clutching at straws here, right? no .just translating(ish) what somebody linked. wouldn't be surprised if we did nick someone in before midnight or at least tie someone up for the summer. We can hope! i doubt the club has given up on trying to get someone in even though it now seems unlikely
  14. nowt on youtube..i wonder if he's on FM (not a player myself). if not how will those regulars tell us they know all about him ?

  16. it's a friendly with no competitive matches near by. let him have a half to get his 100th cap.

  18. itchy feel is when your 14 and with a girl. in order to get your hand up towards her chest you'll itch at your shoulder then let your hand drift.........hence an "itchy feel"
  19. i wish some club would have the bottle to do with that with some want-away greedy selfish b******.
  20. Can't believe some of you go on about a player that offers us very little! God you'd think he was pele or something! Or is it his name you got on the back of your shirts? lol a good way to judge players is against their peers, judged against his NUFC peers he more or less is pele based on potenetial not what he's actually done over the past 18months
  21. or he was speaking the truth and the clubs are covering up.
  22. best player. he's not a left back, hasn't impressed in the centre and hasn't outshone duff wide left in the past 18months. the only player in our squad that is dangerous and other than Martins has pace only player that looks like he can create a goal which he hasn't done for quite a while, even when playing in more advanced positions. IF(?) we can get a replacement then i've no problem. Do you think we can take the risk of going the rest of the season without him? I don't. Who the f*** are we going to get now like? Supertoon is spot on. He's under contract, tell Spurs to f*** off until the summer at least (since if he wants to go then, there isn't too much you can do to stop him going really). no, thats why i'm saying i'm happy to let him go if we can get an improvement in. what part is so hard to understand. Because it goes without saying we can't get a replacement in at this stage. how does it go without saying ? my guess (and i could easily be wrong) is that with such a small squad they wouldn't sell without getting someone in. Because it's 31st January. lots of deals will go through today, maybe some for us. when you woke up this morning did it go without saying that spurs couldn't sign n'zogbia as it was deadline day ? If zoggy leaves it's because at this stage of the day (circa 10:30am) Spurs have this deal set up and need to iron out the fine details. do you think we have any similar deal to the same stage for a replacement? absolutly no idea. Surely you can accept it's fairly unlikely. unlikely....not impossible. rumours now spurs haven't set this deal up. we have no idea what is going on,we don't know who we bid for and who have bid for our players.as i've already pointed out with keegan and it would appear the new management, we aren't going to be fed a 3 week paper trail linking us with someone, we'll only find out when it happens. which is a good thing.
