d'you reckon his accent will be as annoying to spanish ears ?

can you imagine if we had got ben haim and sidwell which we were,by all accounts, very close to....we'd have those two and barton, viduka, rozehnal and possibly geremi for a net outlay of about £2.5mill.
-

Isn't Lahm from Munich? Not that is all that possible any way. i'd heard lahm has gone massivly backwards since his good showings in the world cup....anyone know ?

Exactly my point. If that means we only spend £10m then so be it. i agree....................................don't think it will though

it's not a question of big name or big money signings,it's the right signings that count.

Tbh, the French have always been work-shy bludgers. i'm old enough to remember this country in the 70's....nightshift meant sleep,my cousin had the union fight (and f****** win) his case after he was found asleep on a makeshift bed, again,on the nightshift at parsons. What can I say? Your cousin was a lazy sod. he was the normal
-
we haven't spent £9mill net though,i'm sure i'm quoted on here saying we'll spend around £35mill this window, not sure how much of this will be fresh cash mind.

Don't recall that vow myself. Not personally he hasn't, but then he doesn't talk to the media. However his 5-year plan to make us Champions League winners, or summat, included a mention of something like a £200m budget? The article mentioned £50 million for Allardyce in his first season with Ashley deciding at the end of that season wether Allardyce was the right man for the job long term. With a further £270 million over five years for the manager he decides is the right man. The article didn't say wether the £270 million would include money brought in by the club or wether it would be £270 million put in by Ashley on top of club money though.. But who knows how much of it was true and how much was bollocks.. i'd find it highly unlikely/papertalk that ashley has actually laid out figures like £50mill this year etc,he'll hopefully allow to be spent what he thinks is necessary and what is beneficial and what is doable.

jeez..the last two posts are so modern...............wasn't so long ago it were other way round, maybe things have got a bit better over here?
-
Possibly, but I think it is more likely to be a case of Ashley asking Dein because he knows him, he's the best at what he does and he was available. Dein said no and I think that's how it will stay. I can't honestly envisage Dein working for any club other than the scum, as I said before, he turned down Abramovich and Kenyon was second choice. but that was when dein was still at arsenal.......what if his choice has to be away from there ?
-
could the plan be to keep fat fred until dein finds out wether he can get back in at arsenal ?
-
hope he's not a short arse,i don't fancy having "le petit mort" running the club. wasn't there a mort in those terry pratchett books.................perhaps we're on discworld ?
-
like allardyce was at bolton...the only thing neither of them can/could do is spend money the clubs haven't got.
-
But... but He's so fast!! He must be able to play there. Henry started started out as a Winger, but hasn't done too bad a job as a striker has he? etc etc I think Marins would do well on the LW or top left of a 433 personally too good to leave on the bench and while Duff is out Zoggy's in the huff and Luque a complete flop why not put him LW or at the top left of a 433 ? Do you have a crystal ball and know for sure he'd be rubbish there? he may do well on the left of a 4-3-3 when we have the ball, however that position means he has to work when we don't have it and i have seen little to make me think he has the appetite or the footballing nouse to do it well enough.
-
isn't that better though............"we'll tell you when someone HAS signed" type of thing.
