Rafa the gumbie has blown it and the yanks will use your clubs profits to fund their other enterprises. They don't give a f*** about you or your club, the quicker you lot make a stand the better. my prediction is that the yanks and rafa will be gone by christmas

wigan is as special to a wigan fan as barcelona is to a barcelona fan. some clubs "specialness" exists outside that

totally agree. Coupled with the lack of a leader in the side that raises spirits etc the side seem to just never shrug off going a goal down. not even a leader,we need more than someone who'll clap and shout,we need someone to spark something football wise.

no he's quite right, only liverpool ever gets a kicking. (oh and boris had a valid point)

i'm in the "it's not fitness" group. it's more that anything we have, confidence, belief etc disappears when we concede.

Hard considering I haven't looked at a copy in ten years. My opinions of you are mostly based on reading this board. While a lot of you obviously disagree, I still believe that Newcastle fans lack a bit of patience and have a high expectancy of entertaining football. For the record, I don't think, nor did I say, that NUFC had a crap defence under KK. I think I would rather win 5 - 4 one week and lose 5 - 4 the next week. Compared to the football I've seen in recent years this would be fantastic and in any case I dont suscribe to this winning at all costs mentality. For me Liverpool are one of the most negative and boring teams to watch in the premiership, particularly away from home, they are light years away from playing the sort of free flowing attacking football that Man U and Arsenal deliver on a regular basis and hopefully they will finish outside the top 4 this year No we're not. We're two or three top-quality attacking players away. We've absolutely demolished a few teams this season, but no-one seemed to notice. They were too busy swooning over Man U or Arsenal having beaten someone else by a lesser margin. I admit that Demento and Wenger are more attack-minded than Benitez, but let's not forget Arsenal defending their way to the CL final in 2006 or Man U coming to Anfield to defend this season. It's not as black and white as all that, and there's more to attacking football than passing the ball around in triangles in front of the opposition defence. so you gave someone a hammering while arsenal and man utd could only beat others......convinces me,liverpool are the best. I didn't say we're the best, I said we're not light-years away. Big difference. I expect to get some grief on an oppo board for some of the things I say, but is it too much to ask that you read my posts properly before diving in two-footed? you are light years away, your as far away from winning the league as we are from the champs league..to the casual observer you are going backwards. as for readig your posts before diving in i've read enough about us preferring to lose 4-3 than lose 1-0. you may take a look at other parts of the board,we have a villa fan, a citeh fan,a toffee,a couple of spurs fans,a gooner who don't appear to get their opinions out of the sun. i'm giving you grief because you post rubbish not because you support anoither club.

don't worry,a shorter skirt, some lippy and you will

i'd rather see lua lua than smith in midfield...however i'd raher see faye,n'zogbia (or emre) duff and milner than either.

i think you've been reading too many s**** articles about us in the media. Not really. I mostly just read this board. I'm talking from the perspective of a Liverpool fan here. You DO have little patience with managers relative to us and you do demand attacking football relative to us[\b]. Liverpool fans in the main won't judge a player or manager before his second season; you lot are often baying for blood after a few months. In fairness, Shepherd did have a habit of signing s**** managers, though. Patience ? You have no idea of what patience is mate. Not knocking you but you think going 17 years without winning the title is some sort of disaster, with a few FA Cups and the European Cup thrown in as consolation. Thats what johnny means, I think, apologies if it isn't, but this along with the comment about attractive football is what you don't understand. You don't understand that managers who bore the pants off us only last as long as they are winning, and we have got rid of the ones who did this because they were losing games as well as boring the pants off us. Whats to bad about that ? I don't think any of us would really have cared about Allardyces style of play if we were in the top 4, or in the League Cup Final next week, but even realistically, we were increasingly looking at a manager who didn't know what he was doing, even ones who were happy with him when he took the job, like myself. I understand that completely. For all our cups, in those 17 years we haven't recovered from what Souness did to our club. It's a hell of a lot to expect that Allardyce could sort yours out after that dick's reign with one transfer window, as Roeder hardly brought you forward. The thing about boring football is, winning or losing, without a great defence you won't win anything, ever. The top sides in the league, and particularly the Champions League, are the ones that concede the fewest goals not the ones that score the most. You think losing 4-3 is better than losing 1-0 but it isn't. how many people have to tell you that "no" we don't think losing 4-3 is better than winning 1-0 ? you also fell for the media shit of NUFC' s shit defence under keegan first time round. one thing fans fromother clubs shouldn't do when on the forum of another club is lose credibility so quick.........you are doing it.

under shepherd i used to think,we've came 3rd,4th etc and lost money but champs lge again could get us back up there, then it was big losses and team going backwards (i don't think we could have kept on like that). under ashley so far it's been ,wipe out the debts and hopefully prepare for much strengthening in the summer.

I always said last summers transfers weren't good. I also pointed out Allardyces comments that he wasn't happy with the support he was getting. Unless you know better. Are you happy with the resultant season we are having. If you are, fine, if you aren't, I rest my case. Now, as I asked you earlier, who is to blame for our position of 7th and subsequent UEFA Cup run during the last 5 years of decline you are harping on about i'm not happy with the season so far but i have more confidence for the future than i've had since robson left.
-
first part...like who allardyce ? roeder ? souness ? second part....don't fall for the media hype. do you think you would feel uneasy getting some points but playing crap all the time and knowing your luck was going to run out. how much had houllier won when he got sacked ? liverpool fans ...such an odd bunch, every season think they'll win the league when in reality we've come closer since they last won it.
-
i've been thinking that, mentioned something similar somewhere about many not having experienced the pressure like that before.

Allardyce as manager made decisions on who came in and who went out, unless you know different, something which I haven't seen suggested anywhere but on here. Allardyce chose to bring in Smith and Barton and still could have bought more players as it was said right up to the window that we had money to spend. It’s not up to the chairman or owner to identify who goes and who comes in, even if it has happened here in the recent past. The first debt repayment came in mid August, that was for £30 million, the rest was paid off later, when the transfer window had closed so had nothing to do with how much was spent. not really meaning to demean Ashley, but it makes me smile when people make out he's gave away the money he's paid to finish the debt, mainly because of the stadium expansion. He's added massively to the value of his investment, is what he's done. Priority in football is the team on the field though, as it always has been. What I remember about Allardyce last summer, is saying how he never had the support he expected and also elsewhere saying he had expected more money before the change of ownership. Who wants to get relegated but have a paid up stadium. he hasn't added massivly to the value of his investment, his investment is only worth what someone will pay for it,which is probably less now than when he bought it. as he says NUFC don't owe anyone a bean.......plenty other clubs have been taken over and left still with debt on the books. if ashley walked away tomorrow we'd be debt free wouldn't we ? he's omnly added to the value in that he's paid more out he's spent about £250mill to make how much profit ?

We're desperate for a striker in the summer imo. I think central midfield is probably the biggest problem but I'm not convinced any of our strikers are 'good enough'. Viduka is technically good and will score a few but his lack of mobility greatly limits any team. Shola isn't good enough, that's been pretty much proven. Smith looks s****. Martins is very inconsistent and Owen is rarely fit, half the player he was and potentially away in just over a year's time. The entire structure of our attack and midfield is all wrong. The partnerships up front and in central midfield are all wrong in both areas. what partnerships are they ? there hasn't been time to forge any partnerships since keegan came in. i doubt smith is his first choice forward nor barton/butt his first choice central midfield. You see, people are making excuses for the new board not backing Keegan ie you and mick who didn't reply to my earlier question. Keegan isnt' going to say anything other than what he said, because he quite firmly said that he wanted to bring in 2 or 3 players before the end of the transfer window. So what do you think changed, when players moved during the window ? And don't forget about other players such as Bentley who's transfer value has most definitely gone up in the last week or two ie buying him in the summer will cost more than buying him in January, so whats this nonsense about people saying wait until the summer all about ? Especially when we are in a relegation struggle. Fact is, the new board have cocked up with their policy, and they haven't recognised we have been playing a dangerous game with a squad short of numbers and quality. The central midfield balance between Butt, Faye, Emre, Barton is weak and unbalanced. The central strikers of Owen, Smith, Martins, Viduka is the same. Take into account other positions ie Enrique cost 6m quid and has hardly played, the failure to replace Solano. You are talking about major changes to the team here, and it won't be done looking around at 17 year old kids and cheap players out of contract alone. They have failed to understand football and grasp what was needed. didn't even see your earlier question. keegan also quite firmly stated that in his view he couldn't get in anyone who was better than what we already had. could it be the board have left it to the manager to decide ? You see, this is the bit that I simply don't buy. We know Keegan, we all know he wants results yesterday. There is no way he hasn't came in and decided instantly that we need a striker and midfield player, and didn't already know players playing for clubs lower and/or smaller than us who would improve us overnight. Whats wrong with bidding for these players ? He's being conservative with the truth, and rightly so in his position. He's missed off, at the end of his sentence, "for the money I have at the moment". We are playing a dangerous game, dicing with our premiership status here. or the players weren't available at the time?. the woodgate bid wasn't leaked by NUFC the levante centre half thing wasn't denied by NUFC ..they say nowt. we have no idea who they went after in the most part. for example...if we had bid for bentley, blackburn would hardly want it going public as they may have an unsettled player if an auction starts knowing full well that they'd get more in the summer if they wanted to sell. i agree we are playing a dangerous game but you may well be falling for the idea of "because i don't see action then none is happening" during the window. I can accept that is possible. However, we know that Benjani was available, because he moved. Keegan may well think he wouldn't do better than Viduka, Smith or be a better partner for Owen or Martins, do you think so ? I don't. The club - or somebody at the club - failed to grasp the need to replace Solano and Dyer, at least, letting them both go on transfer deadline day, and 5 months later still don't grasp it. no but it's more than possible he didn't want to sign someone like that just until the end of the season when he'd want to get better again in. FWIW i'd take martins, played correctly over benjani. Keegan might like Martins, in the short term he might get more consistency of performance and application from him, but my guess is in the long term he'll get shot of him. that would mean geting better in which i'm all infavour of, i know you onlyused benajni as an example but i wouldn't have gone for him. i think there are goals there but the central midfield is poor

I might have missed this, do you think we should sell? If we sold Zog for £7m, then bought Downing for £10m (figures which are being bandied about) would that be good business? No, because N'Zogbia's better. not based on the past 18months

the first half in that game wasn't "grinding" out a result...it was hoping the would keep missing while they fucked up chance after chance.
