  1. the fans will give at least a year. the media were against as soon as he was announced. i did hear an interesting story about the media's take on nufc. as we know ashley aint liked much i the city or media for his attitude towards them. this has carried over to the sports journos. when they were asking their finacial desk ciolleagues about hin when he first took over they were told he'll tell you nowt, print any shit you want he'll not break cover,he appears not to care about the press. the sports journos thought "he'll not do that with us" but he has and they cant't handle it,hence the negative press.(also hence even when the alvaro deal was totally bogus no denial or anything, just let them print what they want---very good thing in my eyes, the media has been a tail wagging footballs dog for too long). this was passed to me by a feelancer in football journalism and toon fan.
  2. would be easier just to rent one for the next six months
  3. yes and no.....on those occasions he took advantage of being left back and getting a bit spce to work off duff...n'zogbia hasn't got the nouse to do this as the midfield player. on at least 2 of those occasions what seemingly looked like a good ball wasn't really, played at hip height and near post when given time and space.aswell as too much setting off on runs that fire the crowd up while actually going down blind alleys. a mix between duff and n'zogbia would be canny.
  4. for everyone that wasn't here for keegan as manager first time round. take what he says with a pinch of salt. he'll say what he thinks is best to get the best out of the player/team. between now and then end of the season he'll be bigging up players he knows he wants shot of come summer. some of those on here who analyse each and every word uttered by those at the club are going to have to find a new hobby.
  5. If. One of the biggest words in the footballing language. Why are we so desperate for everyone to love us? we arent. its a reaction to everyone taking the piss for no good reason.
  6. he played 1 great advantage ,saw where the play led, realised the advantage hadnt played out and brought the play back///well done...too few refs do this. but then blew early consistently throughout and ignored adavantage for the rest of the game. There was one "advantage" he played where the ball was played square, then we misplaced a pass (shock horror), yet he got us out of jail by pulling it back, probably outside the timeframe in which he should have. Advantage is overused and overrated. was it getting us out of gaol or was it using the rule as it should be used ? advantage is underused and underated because refs are loathe to bring back play when the advantage brakes down(even within the timeframe)

  8. right then. "these immigrants are fuck off with your shite biased spiteful comments about nufc as when it turns round and you are licking our arses we'll fuck you off stealing our jobs"
  9. not sure he did play the advantage on that occasion. just play was very late in stopping. Wey he should have played advantage! he should have,i agree. referees are notoriously the only people on the planet who don't understand the advantage rule. today he had numerous occasions to use and used it once.

  11. there was an ad based on that match with a football pitch and "X's" around the goal to signify each NUFC attempt.the ad even had a title of "newcastle utd v west ham utd" i'll be awake all night now thinking about what it was for.
  12. disagree with him...boro had as many if not more clear chances than us....downing was quiet because he isn't really very good. barton was largely anon.
  13. kick off time for the next home game is about right. i'll be opening my first drink about 8am.....i am not going through that sober
  14. The cameraman didn't catch Duff and the defender when the ball was played, they were too far ahead of the play. How convenient. Looked miles on from where I was sitting, lush through ball from Charlie. looked off from where i was but maybe cos he ran round the back of the defender. like to see it again
  15. Faye is as much a midfielder as a defender. Bolton fans were certainly of the opinion that he was their best midfielder. Faye is a midfielder, he said in an interview that he was a midfielder before he joined Bolton and that that's his preferred position. The reason he played there for Bolton was Gardner got injured so they had to move Ben Haim to left back. I was of the opinion that he should go into midfield with Cacapa and Taylor continuing their partnership, but not sure I fancy Cacapa's height up against Laursen and Carew. only carew really as laursen will only get up for set pieces when faye would drop in aswell.

    harper v villa ?

given hasn't been useless and harper was injured for today so what makes you think he'll be fit for saturday ?
  17. just about a fair result and if one side had to win they probably had the better chances. give....kept us in it despite some dodgy distribution and lack of communication with defenders carr...done allright epecially in the first half when he had to do all the right hand side work (attacking and defending ) on his tod n'zogbia..when he could be arsed to find the space put in some fantstic crosses. only looked bothered when 20yds from their goal. couldn't give a toss about getting back cacapa...man of the match for me taylor...looked a bit at sea at times and took too long on the ball butt...desperate to find someone in space but with little movement he was found wanting duff...gets double manned so should expect the full back to help/make use of the space. didnt bollock zod nough to get him going barton..i have no idea where he was supposed to be playing in the first half and apart from turning a goal kick to them into a throw in and 1 good ball to duff done little to nothing emre...as with butt, the lack of movement hampers his game smith...lots of work, nowt else owen....good owen type goal.when he got the ball tended to find a striped shirt.got through a lack of unowen type work when smith went off milner....even if his crosses arent the best he forces defenders back viduka...no mobility but still a threat in the box(i'd actually rather play ameobi)
  18. That's one of the worst yet. Christ, will it ever stop? It really is unbelievable. My jaw dropped reading that. I live near to London I might have to go and pay him a visit. Talk about over the top and how dare that prick assume that everyone outside of Newcastle thinks like he does. I`m fuming. No fans I know from a variety of clubs think any of that. it's rod liddle man. what did you expect. the only thing more amazing than people continuing to get wound up by him is the way he still gets published. divvent bite, divvent read then he'll not get published.
  19. idon't think the euro stuff made the difference, they wanted him more than we did.
  20. depneds on my days off (sats and suns part of my working week). if i'm off the full weekend sat's at 5:15 are best
  21. My sentiments exactly. Good post. not gonna argue. i guess time will tell....we all hope i'm right
  22. good thing is though....nowt from nufc. thats the way to conduct transfer business, tell nowt. (then again there was nowt to tell)
  23. Honest question? Where does physioroom get its info from? It often seems like estimates made from college text books to me, and is often wrong. KK hasnt said he is out, and all signs point to him having a chance to play. keegan is a regular at disinformation. he'll regularly say someone is out for three weeks and play them the next day
  24. i had a feeling of that at first (appointed for sentiment) but now after whats happened afterwards i see a bigger picture where his shortfallings are covered by others.(scouting, youth set up etc). this will fly in the face of some but i think keegans time out will have done him good, gave him time to look at where he went wrong, how he got caught up in mangerialship and lost his verve. i still think we may be seat of the pants till the end of the season but i do believe (i cant "know" it)the summer will be huge.
