It even lead me to do some googling on the differences between Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese

Right then, so if he did stop play before the ball went out, and it turns out I'm not the only one to think he did, and he gives a drop ball, the current way its done, maybe not to the rule but it happens every week at the highest levels....its not contested, then Joe keeps on going is it not dissent ? and I'll bet you'd be screaming if it were the other way round, if they had done it. It would be interesting to see what has been said about this sort of incident because the uncosted drop ball/give it back has been happening so regularly it must have some basis from the associations for everyone in so many leagues to seemingly just go along with it.

I was more wondering if there'd been some heavy sledging going on. -
Thats what I've thought over the couple of games he's played. Obviously the staff have seen at lot more of him but just going off what we've seen, get him a loan in the Championship.

Is it significant that the two Portuguese (all be it Brazilian Portuguese) speakers are the two who seemed to lose it tonight ? -
What they do regularly is give the ball to the team whose player got injured but make them give it back to the team who had it.
-
Have to see it again like, I thought he stopped play as soon we didnt look like scoring. A seconds or so difference. Either wayif the Ref tells you to back off 5 times you know you're getting booked.
-
I thought he did, I was miffed he done it early to stop us getting the corner.
-
He stopped play as soon as the ball wasn't going towards goal.
-
Have you not watched over the last few years ? Loads of drop balls arent contested when stopped for injuries.
-
He didn't card him for that, he carded him for not retreating when told to about 5 times. Fairly sure if a Benfica player had done it you would see it differently. Bloody stupid behaviour in a friendly and the tackle was borderline red as well, could have been facing a longer ban if these things carry over, I'm sure they used to.

He may have a week extra to cool down.

It was. We had someone banned for the start of the season after being sent off in a friendly a while back. -

Need to be careful. This is getting spicy. Do red cards in friendlies still carry over into the league? -
Who else is this on tele, Toon on lap top ?
-
Or just seeing how he handles different scenarios while decided to keep or loan and keeping Maxi happy.

Growing up 70s and 80s Mackem was an insult. I mean you wouldn't call a Sunderland fan a Mackem if you thought he could kick your arse.
