  1. To expand on that, the only reason i'm ok with it is because it seems like he's going to be a winger and that is just a massive waste IMO. If you are going to use him like that, might as well sell him for an actual wide man. If as predicted we play 4-2-3-1 and he is wide in the 3, is he really a winger. From what I've seen over the past year or two that seems like his best position, scope to come inside or outside especially with a full back like Janmaat as support.
  2. So they basically just have three shirts with the same colours? Not like they'll clash with anyone.
  3. It works, a holocaust joke wouldn't and theres only just over a decades difference, go figure. (Hope it was his own work)
  4. All that money and too cheap to buy his daughter a leg.
  5. Either way it's a stepping stone. Exposure via the higest profile league in the world (Premiership) or via the Champions league, with Porto likely to go further than Anderlecht.
  6. So he's going to change then, you reckon. Not like you to play the Devil's advocate mate. Not saying he will, I think it's a better chance than him selling up, probably at a loss, to someobody who'll give us what we want. It sounds like it's completely pointless you even posting about the subject tbh. Ashley could get £250-300m for the club today, tomorrow or any time in the future. It's that simple. He doesn't want to sell, it's been a beneficial venture for him. He will never change his approach to the running of the club in the way you're suggesting. It will always be run at the bare minimum cost. We might see more money spent this summer because he's let the club slide into this state. That's all it is though. It's necessary because we might get relegated otherwise. If you think there'll be a change in his outlook this summer and beyond, whatever your reasons, then you're a complete and utter muppet. FWIW I'm not suggesting he spends his money, just that the money, when spent, is spent differently. madras, this is embarrassing mate seriously. Not even sure I can be arsed to take the p*ss any longer. Don't then, do something else. You'd love that, then there'd be one less person objecting to your "I'm geet clever, I see beyond what others see" routine that is your entire existence as a poster here. I don't think you even know your own opinion, you just want to challenge the common consensus because it makes you feel clever. So nar, I'll not do something else thanks. I'll chat on here about NUFC and other stuff in a sensible way that doesn't involve being a contrary dickhead for the sake of it. "I'd love it" god man give your self a shake, someone doesn't agree with you, get over it. No need to make it personal. You tart! You're making it personal saying that tbh. I don't really give a s***, I'm saying it like it is. You would love it. You would love everyone to gan on like you weren't a total gobshite as used to be the case before you got found out and disappeared. After what you put, fucking hell.
  7. When he firtst cvame he did spend, barton, smith, coloccini, I'd like to see us spend on players to benefit the team (buy some players at their value rather than just a "we can sell them for more" attitude). What's your alternative beyond sell us to a sheikh ?

  10. No, many are waiting to see what happens in the summer, hoping for the best but prepared to cancel their dirst debits at the end of the window. Even though they've been paying for next season since February, and will continue to pay throughout the summer? How stupid are these people and can I have their address so I can go round and sell them some dinosaur insurance? Many are on the price freeze, 10yr thing, willing to pay till August and risk it. Most I sit with with are doing it

  12. Strangely enough I've spent the day saying I don't give a fuck what they say but what they do.

  15. one means running us as a football club, one means running us as a business. Hes done it as the latter for a while, if he keeps doing it he'll lose lots of paying customers and gets loads of bad publicity (which has really just started on a national press scale), the national media having a go couod touch the nerve.
  16. My prediction is that we'll spend upwards of £20mil. The press will be telling everyone that Ashley's put his money where his mouth is, but the money spent will actually be less than what we receive for outgoing players. Personally I think he has left himself in a position where if he doesn't spend big and if there is no mass improvement, then the whole press circle including all the nationals will turn on him. This bloke has never ever came remotely to being even close to answering or even acknowledging anything which has been requested or asked of him and yet in the biggest shock of the year he suddenly appears in front of the cameras (and if anyone says the were not totally shocked when he came on their a liar). Long term (maybe even short term) only a good thing as he either matches what he said (and he said about winning things not finishing 10th so he can't use that old chestnut again) or if he doesn't and he then gets castrated by the world media which we all know he does not enjoy which may well force him to sell up. Well done Fat Mike you have opened up to be shot at now you have emerged from your little rabbit hole and will now be caught in the headlights. £20 million will be laughed at and will lead to relegation next year - you may well be right but lets enjoy him squirm in the spotlight. He was 90 minutes today from losing approx. 60 million in one fell swoop (100 million - parachute payments). Well done to the protestors and AshleyOut.com as you certainly have made a hell of a difference to the extent the fat c*** has had to come out in front of the whole footballing world. It wont be so much how much we spend but how we spend it. Will it be spent on players to improve the team or players purely to sell on ? That seems to be the crux for me and many others.
  17. I don't but as a lad in the pub bogs said "If we get relegated I can see us doing a Leeds, dropping right through..................Imagine how good the away days would be in division one!" He has a point.
  18. Devestated by this news, as if the "crash" wasn't bad enough at a distance, it's brought right to our own doorsteps. I hope the club and the fans do something fitting in their memory. (re the twitter stuff. May I suggest not posting them in here but do a bit detective work, found out which clubs they support and shame them, by name, on their own clubs boards)
  19. I thought that but didn't want to say out. looked absolutely bizzare like. I don't even know what it was about cerebral palsy at a guess.

was that meant to be read out in an Obi-wan type voice ?
  21. hope there's a load of advertising paraphernalia etc lying about inside the ground with which to make paper airplanes as I missed it last time due to being on best man duties. I'm in the femily section, have the week off so am going to start practising in the hope of reaching the centre circle.

I don't think most Sunderland supporters think we're different from anyone else. I've seen our fans behave amazingly well, and at times absolutely terribly, as I have with fans of every other football club. Regardless of what you think, this 'classy' mantra has spread like a rash amongst your lot online, almost always coupled with an 'unclassy' jibe levelled at us. My post above is calling out the bullsh*t, as I'm sure would happen the other way round if we suddenly declared ourselves the ne plus ultra of the North-East fanbase. Put it this way - one arseh*le took a swing at a horse and one adolescent idiot erroneously wrote 'boycoutt'...and ever since we haven't heard the end of either. Given the behaviour of some of the pond-life in the links provided, I think your lot got off lightly in return. and therein lies the tale. people confusing online with the wider world. hence why there are shockwaves on here when ther aren't mass calls for pardew's head during every game.
  23. and offside to boot, this one with the player actually in the keepers line of sight.
