  1. hope so (and I still don't know what to make of the spurs game). I actually think the next 3 games will define our season.
  2. "I think we are much more consistent" We're 3 points ahead...how? maybe they mean in performances, we've went from swansea performances to man utd, they may have been steady even when they've lost ? They're like a better version of Swansea couple of seasons back. Had 80% of ball possession against Villa but lost that one, but they've been very solid across the team this season. I really don't see this when i see them.... i see a high pressing team which get it wide and cross for Lambert and Rodriguez to attack. They are nothing like Swansea, they may have had lots of possession against Villa but its not usually a staple of their play. agree they aren't like swansea but from the little i have seen of them they've been staedier than us this season, when we are bad we are very bad.
  3. I've seen things kicking off at Carlisle but never over here. there was a bit of bother outside the central before and after carlisles last visit to the mackemas in the cup.

I did it at the Gallowgate when I was a kid but never to the height some of those are at. During some of the bigger games you could see people up trees in Leazes Park from the Gallowgate, that was after they'd knocked down the old Leazes and had a lower back wall. there are photos from the fairs cup run of people watching from trees and I think from the roof of the houses on leazes terrace.

as much as I liked rob lee as a footballer his personality often came over as smug and arrogant, both in the press and in person.
  7. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/10512931/Sports-Direct-in-row-with-Adidas-over-Chelsea-kit.html Seems all based on not wanting their shirts sold from grubby shops next to stacks of cardboard boxes full of fake crocs. and wanting to keep the price artificially high I'll wager.

Anyone on here actually do that? Brilliant, mind. some of the older fellas maybe, there were a few on the floodlights at Huddersfiled the day we were promoted. First picture of you.

eh ? I thought the joke with shelbyville was that they were basically the same as springfield but neither could admit it.

even those playing there will still probably stop in or around Newcastle. wont come to a choice anyway as there'll probably be one or two concerts per summer at each place.

Dunno about that like Get battered off them and finish high in the league, or beat them and battle relegation? Anyone choosing the later is f***ing mental. Anyone choosing the latter is a mackem. wireside tried, on RTG to make a case for not only rather winning 9-1 back then as opposed to winning the league back then, also that he'd rather a 9-1 back then, over a century ago than the lived experience of a 5-1. I think he was lying.

at work yesterday one of the lads was flicking through the new FHM calander and muttered "theres an alternative universe in which I'm banging her", someone else piped in "aye, the same one where sunderland win the league", messroom mackem piped up "not going to happen, the theory is that all possible universes happen, us winning the league isn't possible so it wouldn't happen". fair do's like.

yet they played the likes of Luton, Southend and Colchester the last time they were down there. if I'm not mistaken the night before we beat barcelona 3-2 they played Bury.

speaking to a couple of arsenal fans tonight. they want the mackems to stay up (boo!), on the reasoning that it gives them another weekend in Newcastle.

you know, after reading randy savage's thread again, you almost feel sorry for them. If they were a person you know that they'd be from the roughest area, with the parents that couldn't give a shit, crap schooling and too stupid to make a decent fist to make a fist of any of the rare breaks that come their way.

there are times when you talk to fans from other clubs and local rivalries crop up, "so what do you really think of Sunderland ?" and you pause, do you mention the club, their fans, the area but thank you Mr Randy Savage now I know exactly what to say..........."they just sums up all facets of them so, so perfectly.

And they know it too: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/the-biggest-indictment-of-safc.846074/ some harsh home truths in there.
  23. be interesting to see how pardew tries to play it. seemed like he tried to replicate previous tactics with different personnel at swansea. if he tries similar on saturday we could see shola or cisse back and launching balls in behind their full backs.
