Possibly already mentioned but that was the worst Liverpool following for quite some time. The numbers were there but the support was terrible. For once the tedious "your support is Fucking shit" was warranted. Heard them celebrate both goals and that was all. 1-1 and the oppo down a man and they gave nothing to their team.

both a week early though.

not helped by the attitude in the press and on the terraces that contact = foul.

how is a player in the right for hitting the deck as soon as he is touched ? surely it's only a foul if the challenge does enough to impede the attacker which it doesn't. Well he was impeded. You see lots of little tugs like that in a game, where it's enough to throw a player off balance or slow them down. It might not be enough for them to hit the deck, but it can prevent a player from getting in a shot or going past a defender. It's a deliberate foul and I don't blame any player for going to ground and making sure they get the pen or the free kick. If you fight to keep on your feet, you're far less likely to get the decision. I don't think it was enough to impede the player, you can tell by suarez's exaggerated movement, up and back before going down. FWIW I will always blame any player for going down when they can stay up.

has there been a better group of goals by one team in one game ?

I think the term is 'clear goal scoring opportunity', he still had Krule to beat and at a tight angle, I'm unsure if you can consider that a clear goalscoring opportunity. tight angle ? you aren't talking about todays with mapou ?
-
he was good. seemed like a lot of work had went in to getting there first (debuchy aswell), risky, but it worked.
-
Consistancy... either that or being able to do it regularly. (surely I don't need a safety wink there ?)
-
yet most think we actually have a decent group of players...

I'll wait till Villa/Cardiff/Today type performances are the norm (ie controlled, where we use what we have to good effect and get what we earn)

I know which rule i'm on about, not so sure about which one you are on about though. I'll assume you've had too much as per and you think I was referring to your post. I wasn't. look up

on recent form he'd have tripped over the ball.

aye err what ? The 'last man' rule. I thought it didn't exist any more. it does in "goal scoring opportunity" type speak, is the player going to be through on goal as opposed to having to take someone on to get there.

Yip! I think people might slowly start to do that u-turn though, I thought it was impossible but the future is looking brighter and brighter, can't see how they can keep going in the other direction! This team is going places! Pardew got it right today and as most people who routinely criticise him do, I will admit that and hope for more or the same. But this post is absolutely dire and is falling into the realms of WUM. Just fully Classic WUM call out just when things don't go in favour of the Pardew haters. What's the wind up? I think people might start to come around to Pardew's new standard of football and start to believe we have a good team at our club who not only are talented but have a character and spirit about them to succeed! Our manager might be poor but he's trying to implement this new style and he's got the players to do so! I said I'd be happy with top 8 with good football and I think we are striving towards that! No not at all. Haters FFS man. The wind up is the tone man. People are happy we won, and people have praised him. Is there any need after one game to say stuff like "can't see how they can keep going in the other direction" come on man. I'm all up for positivity but it's just gloating. we won ? shit ,missed that, going to have to go back out now to party.

Thought you had jacked us in? Properly this time. I have in terms of ganning to games. altogether now "he is the loyalist, football supporter, the world has ever seen"
-
not in this case, it's if it was a foul or not.
-
yeah I know. I just rail against the owenite idea that any contact is a foul. I hate the idea as well - but you can't do that to a man - because you know it's getting blown up. You've got to stick to the rules - however soft it was a foul in the box so it's a penalty. He was last man so it's a red card. s*** - but that's the rules. eh ? was the contact enough to floor the forward ? if not then it's not a foul. if it is then any contact is afoul.............then every corner will take hours.

i disagree, i saw at lot more robust stuff going on today that was fair game. at first I thought it was as you say, then at HT I watched it again and got incensed by it, on getting homne and watching it again (and again and again and again) it's never enough to stop the forward. In which case - amicably - we'll have to agree to disagree. no probs.

it was his fault but it wasn't a foul, it's what officials fall for all the time as they have to believe the michael owen line that any contact equates to a foul.

re gerrard booking. seemed like it was for nowt, but minutes after the sending off. what chance a word from the 4th official in the refs ear piece about it being a crap decision and the ref attemting to even things up in the way they do ?
