Especially when the logic doesn't make sense. Obertan was brought on over HBA to help protect the left side and it actually ended up weakening us. In that instance, there was literally no excuse for not bringing on Ben Arfa. there was like, personally I'd have brought colo on and tried to push the full backs on 10yds or so especially as they caught santon loads with the ball played inside him. really can't see any reason FOR bringing ben arfa on last weekend. When you have a team pushing forwards and leaving lots of space to exploit behind, I would think a player like ben Arfa would certainly be worth considering as part of the mix. they didn't really leave a load of space for a ben arfa type player to exploit, that would call for movement and someone to work along the line or at least someone to work off the ball. not ben arfas strong points If a team is pressing forward for an equaliser there is always space behind to exploit. Why would you need someone to work along the line to do that? You just put someone with some pace and ability to run at a stretched back four and an eye for goal. Get one of the other 11 to cover the lines. because if you just keep lobbing the ball over in the hope that that player will get to it first it will more often than not come straight back at you, far better try and play it for possession and in that scenario ben arfa isn't what you need.

I could've imagined benny kritensen playing in sunglasses.

Gunnersaurus is the most depressed mascot i've ever seen. probably because he knows his name sounds like an STD.

I don't, ideally I would like us to reinvest all our profits like any football club should. I just think he is entitled to some level of debt repayment... overall the terms are pretty good compared to a commercial loan on the open market. catch 22. if any profits are reinvested playing side the team could/should get better but ashley stays as we are unlikely to find a buyer that would give him enough to break even on the deal or he takes some of the profit back as debt repayment possibly dropping the price he would want to sell up but to the detriment of the playing side.

tbf i'm not at all convinced by AVB.

He isn't one of Man City's best players ever though, Sunderland however... yep run of the mill ex City player. But King of the Mackems king of the mackems, fuck me, you'd abdocate wouldn't you ?

someone has to shop that graphic to another two lines, goals and points.

How does work ?. Tottenham were far from tired, they battered us, and if it wasn't for our GK making the most saves in one game this season we would have lost. Tiredness my arse. started slow and didn't really fire till they had to.

a luque goal perhaps ?

where are the frenchies this board once had ? I need some info on yoan as I'm sure I read somewhere, either freanch sports piece or planet L'OM that gouffran would be throwing a hissy fit if he wasn't starting and up front at that. did he have that sort of reputation ?

couldn't believe the amount of times citeh got the ball wide, particularly to navas, about 15/20yds out and they only had 2 or 3 within 25yds of the goal.

Bar Krul, we were far from exceptional. Is it a fair comment to say it was - and here comes the cliche - a good time to play Spurs? Inevitably such a comment would imply no credit should be given to you, which isn't the case whatsoever, but does the sentiment hold true? good time to play spurs ? you mean after a euro midweek game ? (personally i think it is a mitigating factor but according to many it couldn't be for us so it can't be for them)

yip, those were the two you wouldn't expect most prem keepers to get, the rest, good saves though they were, you wouldn't be surprised if most keepers stopped them individually........but to stop them all ? thats what makes it special.

Hello Tim mate, long time no see, what you been up to ?

I didn't see the incident so don't know what the refs view of it was but if it is as people are saying, maybe the players who did it should be the focus as much as the officials.

The league is wide open for teams outside the top 6 this season if they can show a bit of consistency. The ones who make better use of their resources are more likely to finish closer to the top 6, so Southampton will probably be one of them. We could finish anywhere from 9th to 15th IMO. southampton haven't had the most difficuilt of starts. gets more difficuilt for them now looking at their upcoming fixtures. I'll be impressed if they are still top 4 come fa cup 3rd day. They've played 11 of 19 opponents, including two of the 'top six'. Only lost once and won six. Your post reminds me of what people said about us in 2011/12. lets see what happens then.

it's danny guthrie on the deck isn't it ? I'm no fan of barton but he's just carrying on with an ex team mate.

only my parents ever call me tha..................now hey!

We could do that, and then we'd bring him in on loan. probably wouldn't want to come to a club where you deservedly win a game and your own fans claim it was lucky.

Are you saying we can't sign Messi? s***, I had better lower my expectations. well we can, we just get some darren bradshaw-a-like to change his name by deed poll or whatever it is these days.
