Exactly, he blew too early, he should have waited but didn't which tbf has given us lots of fun probably because he thought if he left it longer it would be too long from the original foul. for all the rules seem set up to play advantage for as long as it needs to see if the advanatge plays out, tey never do it and this must be in the guidelines given to them.

unfortuntaely that is the way the game is going (gone), talk to anyone in the game about todays transfers and it's a fairly common story.

What? Not getting this at all. Bowyer was f***ing rubbish. I absolutely hated him under Souness. i'm with yorkie here. bowyer was largely crap for us.
-
didn't seem like a strong push in real time. as if ben arfa went down easy because he received the slightest touch. when you see it again and again you see there was more in the push than at first sight.
-
didn't think it was a pen in real time. looks more of one with every watch though.

The option may well be reliant as much on QPR staying down as Remy staying out of jail.
-
as good as useless if that's the case as they are favourites to come up. doesn't mean they will come up. it's not as if we could force them to sell.
-
don't know how true it is but got told yesterday that we have a deal in place for next summer IF QPR don't get promoted.
-
no reason why he couldn't rotate that furthest up pressing role with sissoko.
-
and quite often we picked up the second ball. benteke was like andy carroll in the air outside the box, won the header but didn't win his team possession.
-
against west ham he played more midfield. yesterday he was much further forward.
-
Sissoko was marking Benteke and totally lost him after some great movement by Benteke. Maybe so - but Benteke is one of their main central forwards so it should have been one of the CDs marking him.. why ? it's often not the case, quite often you see forwards marking forwards from set pieces.

same XI as villa. hope I get my lieu day.
-
re mole and wil... he played like he did in that 6 win spell season before last, much further forward doing all the work chasing so the wider two can drop onto the full backs (re watch the swansea away game)
-
Absolutely impossible to play it again until now of course. for 6 games

It's one game in a season, that's what it is. In other words, very little to judge how a season will go from. Actually, you can take a hell of a lot from today's game. He's a safety first manager, no doubt, but he's shown that he's comfortable going for it when he trusts his team. I'm not saying he's an all-out attacking manager but we saw his mentality today, he's fine to go for it when he feels confident. This was an awkward fixture to predict as they've played better than their results suggest (due to opposition), he deserves credit for being ballsy enough to go there and look to beat them at their own game. said all last season we were unbalanced, missing the remy/aubameyang type we were seemingly after. now we have that the pattern seems to have changed. I'll give it a month or two with the current squad before wondering if thats what pardew wanted to do but didnt have the personnel.

Not really. We played well today and the win was brilliant but some of the stuff that's been posted on here afterwards is f***ing criminal like. It is If we play like that for the next 6-8 games i'll be delighted but it's a bit premature at the moment. Let's see how we're looking half way through November rather than just playing 90 minutes of good football out of 450 minutes. about 105mins if you include then of the fulham game. I was including the Fulham game. Villa had a good 20-25 minutes after half time today. We looked ropey then. Very happy to see that we recovered. Very happy. villa did have a good spell, we didn't look ropey though, get what you mean though. as someone who has pushed the 4-3-3 since ben arfa arrived, seen it work very well the season before last before being ditched because of a bad result (and who knows why last season ?) i'd like to see it as our default and I think it will with remy's arival. maybe differnt variants at time, tiote/jonas for an injured/suspended cabaye/anita/sissoko. It gets the best out of ben arfa which creates space elsewhere.

think he would aswell (and moving him further forward is like a new signing anyway)
-
He was, but there was no marking whatsoever. Seemed like 3 of them were lining up to head it. Yeah, Mbiwa & Sissoko were caught out big time. Didn't track the runs at all. Zonal marking maybe? The more I see it the less I blame Krul. Colo, MYM and Sissoko were standing in some weird diagonal line leaving 3 players to attack the ball at their will. Krul must have seen this, panicked and tried to do something about it. You can't leave Benteke, the 6ft 4 lad and whoever else it was to do what they like. Krul will take the blame but the defenders were far worse imo, abysmal defending there. None of them did a good enough job, but only Krul consciously decided to move where he did and I doubt it was to do with the marking. The others just switched off. You're probably right but he was certainly in a rock/hard place situation. Unfortunately when keepers come that far generally bad things happen. Would have probably saved it had he done nowt. He came outside of his 6 yard box, when that happens it usuallh means bad stuf only if they don't get the ball. he's to blame along with sisssoko, others to a lesser extent.

Yeah, good bit too. agbonlahor shot wide ?
-
Dean is always going to book him, it didn't look too bad to me but ref's give them. he was always going to book him for the next foul after the first one, just not sure it was even a foul. he seemed to come round the side of benteke and get in first. like i say i'd like to see it again.
-
He played well but his booking was daft and could have put us down to 10 men. want to see it again. didn't look like a booking at the time.

reminiscent of that 6 win streak two seasons ago. cabaye pushing right on with the wide men dropping a bit. good, win, deserved win with a very good performance and I hope we stick with this pattern, hopefully in time a bit more excahnge movement between remy/ben arfa and cabaye/sissoko. edit....big part of the game seemed to be how alert we were to loose balls. a big chasnge to last season.
