  1. Easy money, looks like Rosenborg will be a certain money maker for me this season as well. So pleased the Norwegian league is starting up again, silly odds + predictable games = sexy money. Keep us updated i can see their game to game odds being quite poor this season.
  2. 5 years ago it wasn't unthinkable. Dekka said it was unthinkable last about this time last year. I think he must've been the only person in Newcastle who couldn't see it coming. not seeing it coming and being unthinkable are totally different ideas.
  3. They guy has made mistakes, he's accepted that, unfortuantly for us it cost us dearly. The guy though has put money into the club to keep it running, has now got a system in place for building the teams, and the club so that it can start to make a profit, we are top of the league, he has backed the manager (maybe he's not the right manager if we go up), what more do you want him to do?, what more can the guy do? It's not like he can go to the FA or the Premier League ans say "I f***ed up, keeps us in the Premiership please?" is it?, The only thing he can do to change the mistakes he made and start to build the club is whats he's been doing all season (or atleast announced a full time manager). And what do you think is going to happen to this profit? Look, I can't give evidence that the guy isn't a t***, and you can't give me evidence he is. Don't tell me he's bought the club for millions, f***ed, ad kept it afloat when he could easily of put it into admin. I'm jusat saying that the signs are encouraging this season in both his off the field plans and whats happening on the field. Whats wrong with not shouting to the guy to f*** off?, ans whats wrong with thinking he's changed or atleast noticing positive changes? Forgive me for not shouting bad things to the guy who looks (in my opinion) to be changing the club for the better and could easily send the club into a worse position of Portsmouth. Lay off the guys back and start forcusing on the team, it's like your looking for him to slip up. I’m just asking you what you think will happen to these profits he may use them to put back into the club. he may try and get some money out to offset the over 200million he's paid out already.
  4. rosenburg and villa singles. a treble of twente, chelsea and everton.
  5. I'm not sure, but I knew Jose' would go straight back out, it happened to him the last time. I wonder if we could just actually get Van Aanholt back? I don't see why it would be a problem. saying that the last couple of time kadars played at left back he's looked very tidy and growing in confidence.
  6. We're top of the league and are so by some distance now, what more could the club do? I always think you should judge somebody by what they do and not what they say. At this time we're doing very well and could hardly do any better and that's how I’ll judge them. Exactly, but obviously the damage isn't undone, and until there is real evidence to suggest they're not continuing with their persistent lying then the fans can sing what they like imo. My only gripe with them is that the songs aren't quite right. You might think, what more can we do? At the moment, nothing. In all, a colossal amount. i love this persistent lying stuff. they all tell lies all the time. i wouldn't want them to tell the truth all the time.
  7. So assuming one of them is hanging off the Gallowgate and the other is on the wall (please don't take out any seats) then it won't really change any layout of the stadium or take any seats away. thats why i planned it that way.
  8. No he's not off the hook, but apart from making yourself look ignorant about footballing finances what else does chanting abuse at Ashley do? He isn't going to decide one day in the middle of the season that he is going to up sticks and leave because a bunch of lads in tracky bottoms bought from his Sports Direct shop are calling him nasty names is he? I don't think anyone needs to be told to get behind the team (well apart from the tartan blanket brigade in the East Stand but unless they have their hearing aids switched on they wouldn't hear me anyway), but it's a waste of carbon dioxide and saliva shouting s**** at Ashley. hey blef....was farty man farting today ?
  9. he's not off the hook. i've always objected to singing it during the match at anytime. before or after is ok if you want to.
  10. no no no......why run the risk of injury through playing pointless games.
  11. Shows they’re not fickle though doesn’t it? That they’re not going to start kissing his ring just because we win a few games in a league we wouldn’t even be in of it wasn't for the Ashley inspired disaster that was 08/09. Was there any need for Dekker to accuse them of not being proper supporters? I have my reservations about overall benefits of the signing section but they get behind the team game in game out. so not chanting about him is kissing his ring ? as for getting behind the team quite alot of it is taking the piss out of the oppositions fans and starting anti ashley stuff. i personally like the gallowgate east stand corberes response when the kids start with the anti ashley stuff.......they start chanting "newcastle newcastle newcastle" The "get out of our club" chants seemed to have stopped, thank f*** (and I am not an Ashley apologist by any stretch of the imagination), and the "I don't care about Ashley" chant is not really offensive is it compared to calling him a "fat cockney racist". There are plenty of people in Level 7 who don't sing anti-ashley songs, but when people are singing "stand up if you love the toon" and hardly anyone stands up in the lower leazes and milburn it is disheartening, especially as the Barnsley fans were taking the mick out of the rest of the ground not singing and making a noise today. I don't doubt that some of the Gallowgate makes some noise but we cannot hear it in the Leazes corner just like you say you can't hear us. all we tend to hear (which i guess is what the majority join with from level 7) is "your support is fucking shit" which was thankfully missing from the repetoire today and the "fat cockney bastard" song. has to be said aswell today, for all barnsley brought a good following we didn't hear one peep from them.
  12. Not quite, but that individual performance from him today would have certainly got him a man of the match award in many of our other games. Okay so he's a bit of a speed merchant with limited ability, but he does offer us natural width which is very useful. Some of his touches and passes were especially excellent today. after a nervy first 10mins his movement was very good. the win and lay off for the pen were very good. didn't he set upi carrolls very good in the first half aswell. caused them bother all afternoon. still don't think it's enough for him to still be here come the summer but credit where its due.
  13. one on the gallowgate roof and in the milburn leazes corner tunnel thing.
  14. i probably just about had him as man of the match today.

  16. rochdale....kin ell barce......kin ell again lyon.....this can't be right psv.....some night this is. i give up.
  17. i knew it was butts last season (got to be) but wasn't sure about smith or barton.
  18. those sloggers are also the high earners and it probably wont be the clubs if and when they go. For smith and possibly barton it may mean doing an owen and hanging on for aslong as they can contractually.
  19. IF we go up the summer coming will tell us more about ashleys tenure than anything that has gone before. He'll not be able to use the financial position card as he has done so far. Then it will all be his, he'll not be able to blame the position on what went before.
  20. why use a model ? go for the real thing.
  21. a chant or two would be better as they can easily not show a banner up there. for those saying about the finances sky brings into football ask how many subscribers wouldn't bother with it if it wasn't for the football. also if sky pulled out it would have to be at the end of any deal so the clubs would have time to cut their cloth accordingly. all power to you but i doubt it'll change anything.
  22. Of course no one knows if we'd have gone out of business if Ashley hadn't bought the club. But when he did buy it our balance sheet was insolvent and that means that someone had to guarantee to fund the club for the next 12 months or the auditors wouldn't sign it off as a going concern. If its not signed off as a going concern every secured creditor has the right to foreclose. So who was going to give that guarantee if Ashley didn't? This is not a point that can be validated and doesn't really add to the debate; we were never signed off as anything other than a going concern, given guarantees from the owner. The same guarantees could well have been forthcoming from the previous owners. The fact is we were truly exposed by relegation; don't let the anti-Shepherd view cloud your objectivity. If you read my posts on other threads you will find that I am not anti Shepherd or pro Ashley, imo both have done some good things and some bad. Your idea that the Halls and the Shepherds would have guaranteed to fund the club is certainly interesting, given their track record on making their own funds available for investment. And since Ashley had so much already tied up in the club how exposed were we by relegation in reality? He had to get us back up and didn't asset strip anywhere near as much as he could have in the summer to try and have every chance of succeeding. This is all the difference between what could have happened and what did happen. Who knows what could have happened? We do know what did happen, which was relegation which exposed the club. Under Ashley's ownership. To be clear I certainly blame Ashley for relegation. Any sort of stability in the club last season would have ensured our survival. But how exposed we are having been relegated with Ashley remaining as owner is debatable. And to continue on your theme what did happen was that he didn't find a buyer and he did make a decent effort at giving us a platform to go back up. Aaargh! We were and are far more exposed as a business having been relegated than in any other scenario (we haven't been promoted yet). Ashley is responsible for this because it happened under his stewardship and he is doing no other, now, than protecting his (perhaps ill-advised) investment. All I want to do is give context to his alleged investment (more likely loans). Everything he has done is as a result of really poor business decisions; at last he seems to have realised what is needed to get the club back to the Premier League. But then he based his acquisition strategy on buying a Premier League club for goodness sake! many have said he took a gamble on us staying up and he knew if it failed he'd be carrying the losses. he has carried those losses and will probably look to get out when he can. however had fred and co stayed in charge it is possible we'd still be a prem club (though personally i think allardyce would have took us down) but still making year on year losses with nothing left to borrow against. very much the portsmouth position but with bigger debts accompanying our bigger turnover.
  23. are you saying we need to learn how to walk like an egyptian ? boooooooooo
