  1. No, we have to wait for another 10 appearances where he looks off the pace, makes Smith look like a decent goalscorer and generally offers f*** all to be fair to the lad he seems a bit like harewood was when alongside carroll...ie a front runner having to feed off a front runner. strange that everyone will cut guthrie some slack when playing out wide when playing as the deeper striker is just as out of position for best,
  2. admittedly i wasn't there and didn't see it but all reports had us well in control as opposed to most of our away games. more of it pleaes to close the season out.
  3. the irony in this thread being that the majority of people in bridge's position would have set about twat with a baseball bat expect him to put it all behind him because its football.
  4. chelsea fans planning a dummy (as in babys) protest against wayne bridge. Fucking pathetic. It disgusts me the way people will get behind a twat because he's their twat.
  5. no doubt everton and spurs could say the same about us re traqnsfer targets and offering stupid wages. Not really as we aren't a historically small club attempting to punch above our weight. We are a historically big club that theoretically should be able to compete with the best in England but due to incompetent management has ended up in the 2nd tier of English football. we arent an historically big club. until 1993 we were a yo-yo club with very passionate suppost. and since 2004 have been a club on the drop and living on the minor glories of the recent past.

  7. there is no "one person" to blame for this. fred and ashley bare more responsibility than most though.
  8. and also if pompey go into liquidatio tomorrow the mackems will only lose 2 points.....west ham would lose 6.
  9. bearing in mind the kid will alreadfy know all about it, if bridge went to the world cup wouldn't the kid be asking "how could you even wear the same strip as someone who done that to you ?" good on wayne bridge. football and money are not the be all and end all.
  10. personally speaking i think we had the players to stop up. bringing in kinnear was what done it in.
  11. you know what...you'd be pissed off but survive.
  12. to be honest why shouldn't players be getting paid the money they get paid? considering how much money there is in football. the footballers are the ones who earn the money, so it is them who should take the wealth that comes with it. all the main problems with football financially are caused by the employees of the club in the boardroom and people like abramovic and the man city lot. its their responsibility to ensure the club balances the books, not the players. they set the ticket and merchandise prices and they are responsible for the financial well being of the club. this isn't down to the players or agents. yes they greedily take money out but it's simple for the people running the clubs to say "no, we wont pay you that much". if that means they can't compete with citeh and chelsea then so be it. it looks like the pigs in the trough attitude of many (mainly premiership) footballers is coming to and end.......................and as far as i'm concerned it won't come a moment too soon.

  14. i've been saying that for years. game carries on and that player is out of the game (ie can't play anyone onside etc) and must leave the pitch after treatment.

  16. not many are saying we should or could buy him, many are saying that given the choice in the summer of playing keane or ranger , they'd play keane.
  17. isn't he very left sided ? ie bruce is desperate to get him as left back ?
  18. As a Newcastle fan with a Geordie accent I find that hugely embarrassing and completely wrong. I hope you appreciate that this likely goes for the vast, vast majority of us. this, that bloke's a c***. every club has their cunts...bigger crowd, bigger ammount of cunts unfortunatly.
  19. when cole broke the other record was better.... I was in the leazes at the time. Too young to remember that. In general I find most of our fans to be personable and a laugh. Met very few nobheads. sure its a societal thing. people are great when on their own but when with others of their own 'breed' they behave in the way they believe is their rite. i'm sure i've done this recently about americans.

  21. agreed. though i think a system where clubs can only borrow to a certain percentage of turnover would come in first (which is along the lines of what platini wants to bring in). nominated squads of limited size would be a fantastic start. I don't really like the turnover idea though because there will still be a big financial disparity between clubs e.g. Man Utds turnover dwarfs Spurs so they are allowed more money to build a squad. Spurs meanwhile, dwarf Wigans turnover and will again have way more to spend on wages & transfers. it would be a starting point as the big clubs have too much power right now. if a salary cap were brought in it wouldn't bother the majority of clubs as they'd never afford it anyhow.
