i'd really hoped watford was a turning point in away games in that we dominated. these two games coming up are massivly important and he ahs to get it right not so much in team selection but in mentality.

I think he was signed because at the time Hughton wasn't entirely comfortable with having to rely on Carroll and Ranger as target men, having lost Harewood. This was before Carroll went on his insane goal scoring streak and without hindsight I don't think anyone would have predicted it. yip. plus if he fails we'll still be able to get shot for more than we paid for him. also he's hardly had a chance yet to lead the line, instead playing off a front man which isn't his natural game, poor, poor start but far too early to be making out he's as bad as some are.

I'll post this as a Scunthorpe fan, which is difficult to do right now. That was easily our worst performance of the season. Absolutely gutless performance; they just didn't turn up. It was always going to be one way traffic, but they looked like they didn't even care. Missing your best defender (Mirfin) and your best striker (Hooper) doesn't help, but add to that a right back who should be back playing college football in america, and a centre back who wouldn't look out of place in Sunday league football, it was always going to be a big defeat. There was a huge argument after the match between the players. Think they already know they're down, and no there's a rumour Hooper is out for the season. Had a decent night our after the match though, after I'd recovered from my vertigo. aye.some lads in the bar beforehand were saying 3 or 4 nil and they'd take it if they got no more injuries for more important games they might get points from.
