imo the movement has gotten a little better - as in improved, not saying world class here - with the inclusion of Anita and the availability of HBA. Pardew undoubtedly hates this, much as he undoubtedly also hates sunshine, babies and music, so I'm sure it will be drilled out of them quickly. Not as static as last season, so far, and still work to be done but it's mildly encouraging.

327 words. 34 on Newcastle. What a waste of oxygen.
  3. You probably didn't even read it, man. It doesn't just say that, that the cup competitions are just lower down our list of priotities, it says "the cup competitions are not a priority for the club. They are used to be able to look at our squad as a whole. The focus is on a top ten league place because the financial rewards are so great" How anyone can even try to spin that to anything other than "no interest in winning the cups" is beyond me. Sorry, don't think they're mutually exclusive like. It's editorializing and, at best, an uncharitable interpretation.
  4. Both ex-players at this point but Papa Bouba Diop and El Hadji Diouf. edit: fuck me, Diouf plays for Leeds. Thought he was older and retired.

Because really, what are stats except the collective representation of factual data? I'd much rather hear about emotions and how they relate to objective truth.
  6. 38 seconds Jol/Holloway next, can't really see it being anyone else. Moyes could be in danger if they were Chelsea. But they're not. Think it's Holloway/Hughton myself. Jol has an opportunity to buy time, with Fulham's next 3 fixtures being winnable (Cardiff(H), Stoke(H), Palace(A)) whereas I can see Norwich being likely to slip into the bottom 3 after theirs (Stoke(A), Chelsea(H), Arsenal(A)) and simply not recover. Palace have So'ton(A), Liverpool(A) and Fulham(H) and I can't see them moving out of the relegation zone either.
  7. they've done a decent job - for no discernible reason - of disguising it if it has. http://fotoforensics.com/analysis.php?id=d527f2d02780527c797f236dcd028a106e1ffc2c.61769
  8. only way I can see it is if we're bottom 3 at christmas. PDC, Jol and Hugthon for me although I apparently clicked Bruce instead of Jol.

We resorted to just clipping long balls from half way-ish up the pitch from about 75 minutes onwards. Once he went 4-4-2 we just hoofed, not that we played that much better 4-3-3 but it was still better. Aye that's another knock against him tbf. Resorted to 4-4-2. And brought Tiote on. Which probably invites hoofballs as colo/mym would rather send it over Tiote's head than pass to his feet where he'll spin into an opposition player.

Not sure how much he got entirely wrong here today, really. Maybe not taking off Cisse sooner? We weren't hoofing it that much tbh. Play was along the deck for the most part. Defending was a shambles but how much of that do you want to put down to him and how much do you want to say it was botched assignments or panic by the players? He's not supposed to be able to make them perfect. Preparation for defending set pieces was atrocious. And we didn't adjust after the half.
  13. was, along with remy, one of the few good things this afternoon.
