I think it's too early to call it a weakness, he's only had one season with European football during his career and that was sidetracked early on with numerous injuries. We did fine this season with injuries without rotating that much and the squad was still extremely thin. Next season will tell a lot and hopefully show that he has learned from 23/24 even if some of those injuries were just freak accidents and bad luck.

We are in a very different position now compared to the window when Wood, Trippier and Burn were bought. Back then we were basically willing to buy anyone who was happy to join as we were desperate to avoid relegation and didn't have to worry about PSR. Can't see either Watkins or Wissa ever happening unless the prices were really cheap, say £25-30m. Watkins turns 30 before Christmas, Wissa 29 in couple of months. I just don't think we are in a position yet to make signings like that when the squad is so thin and relatively old already.
