Just heard that the mackems have only won one in their last 10, and that was against Barrow! I knew they were on a bad run but I didn't realise it was that bad. Happy Days.

Newcastle United Vs. Crystal Palace Wed. Jan 27th 2010 7:45pm KO

For any other game I would quite like to see how Jonas looks at Right Back but if it is Victor Moses who plays left wing for them, and he is meant to be attracting attention from some of Europes biggest (Barcelona, Arsenal etc), then it really would call for a solid defender with little thoughts on attacking for this game. -
and they aren't. they are the oldest league club. I have never fully understood that. If they are the oldest then who else was in the first league with them?

Stick some white stripes down each side and lose the cat off the shorts and that may not be too bad. Whatever happens though, is it too much to ask to get the black of the sponsor the same as the rest of the strip?

Leeds fan friend of mine just texted me to say we had just put a third bid in for him. No ITK, just passing on what i was texted. He reckons £2m.

Which is basically what I am asking. What level has he been at so far to prove he is good enough?

Apparently the referee for the Fulham Portsmouth game tomorrow is only 24. Anyone know anything about him? Has he reffed in the Championship yet? It seems far too young to be thrown into the top league to me.

I've not seem him play, only on the dreaded youtube, but first impressions of his goals on there are that he reminds me a bit of Cole. The main problem would be our severe lack of a Pedro or infact any creativity at all to set up chances for him.

Not half bad for a 'pub keeper' -
I know I should let this drop, but I have to agree with Jayson. Boro were turgid and there for the taking. Yes I am delighted to get another 3 points, another clean sheet and to be 10 points clear. But we all know the quality in this league is a joke and when we go up, if we dont change over half of the team we will struggle. For a home game like this, with a huge crowd backing us, it would have been nice to see us get the ball down and attack them, much like the we did for the last 10-20 minutes. The long ball tactics succeeded in this case, but I didnt enjoy watching it.

To me, its not that a full Wolves team would have got anything at Old Trafford. It's more that playing in such a game and pitting themselves against the best should be what getting into the PL is all about. Much the same as teams who work all season to get a place in Europe, then when the games come around they rest the better players and moan about the number of games.

Snow is forecast to stop before midnight but temperatures are set to be -4 and -5 so they had better have the grit down now. -
How's it going for the players who left Newcastle?
Belfast Boy replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
It's all down to confidence and how they were managed here. The players who jumped ship once we were relegated were the ones who had mentally giving up months ago. It's no coincidence that the one decent man manager we have had recently (Keegan) was the one who got the best out of them. -

Hughes came back out on the pitch and waved to each side of the ground. He's gone. -

Except then Duff wouldn't be rejuvinated and would be fannying around on the wing with a face like a wet trout. -
Straight red for Turner (mackems) in injury time.
