  1. Why was it chosen you mean? Fairly obvious I would have thought, club rarely on TV, bit of a narrative around them at the moment, good chance of an upset.
  2. Who does have the best squad in the Championship then?
  3. Agree with the first paragraph. Disagree with the second, you know what you're signing up to when you follow NUFC. Particularly in a cup game. Well I kind of agree, though I thought Benitez was above that. It was more a general point. Martin O'Neill used to let 3000 Villa fans trek to Eastern Europe to watch their under-12s.
  4. Have no problem prioritising the league in a situation where we need to basically win every game, it's not like when you're mid-table in the PL and tossing it off, or even when you're at the bottom and getting howked every week anyway, where a bit of confidence from a win could be vital. IMO managers though should be telling supporters that it's going to be a second string before people trek halfway down the country for it. It's not on really. At least if people have paid their money with their eyes open, they're not going to feel so aggrieved.
  5. There was, when this place and Toontastic first split in two, for months if not years half the posts on both were just the two forums slagging each other off (with their criticism of this place being just that, mods too strict and full of 'kids'). Talking about ten years ago here, if not more. Settled down eventually and everyone went their separate ways. Met The Fish many times, he's alright, never shuts up like.
  6. NUFC-Forum is the "go-to" forum? Isn't that the place where all our whoppers come from?
  7. I think it was Southampton who recently had one for a fan in his 80s that died. We're only one step away from a minute's applause for everyone in the ground when that's happening. Think football clubs are putting themselves on tricky ground with the way they've treated the lad from Sunderland as well. Fair enough for his own club to do something but he's been to Newcastle, Everton and Man City that I know of, and he's won the BBC goal of the month competition. How many other kids across the country with terrible illnesses are going to want to be treated the same, and are clubs going to have to start saying no, at which point they look like cunts but let's be fair, they're football clubs, not Dream Come True charities.
  8. Away goals rule does apply in the CDR.
  9. Looks like The Mirror, as seems to be their MO at the minute, de-sensationalised their story after first publishing it, it now says Bruce just went round and took photos of the fence. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/steve-bruce-involved-furious-bust-9669110 Original text was this: https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/24973-ross-mccormack/?page=12#comment-1173210
  10. Apparently he rang up and said he couldn't get to training because his electric gates were knackered, Bruce stormed round, climbed over the fence and had it out with him on the doorstep.

  12. Highlights from Barca B's last home game in their 15k capacity stadium:
  13. The GoFundMe page for that bloke is up over five grand. Part of me marvels at the generosity of people, most of me thinks they're absolutely crackers.
  14. Las Palmas goal off £130 tonight.
  15. What problem is he even trying to solve?
  16. That was the day I was on MOTD going absolutely radge.
  17. https://www.theguardian.com/football/the-set-pieces-blog/2017/jan/19/bundesliga-clubs-managers-premier-league-germany-england Interesting read.
  18. Fucking weird like. You'd think the TV companies would take the opportunity of home games against Reading and Wigan to stop the 12 year run of consecutive fixtures, just to get the monkey off their backs.
  19. Brilliant that. Through ball so perfectly weighted.
