I'd take a club to be proud of even without a League Cup in ten years.
-
Wallsendmag must just spend hours on end arguing with himself.
-
Wat? Nobody is arguing he should be in the first team, are they? Are they saying when Pardew found out Gutiérrez had cancer he ditched him and told him to find another club? If so, I find that to be an unlikely scenario. If by 'they' you mean Jonas, then yes they are.

He's definitely got some sort of narcissistic personality disorder. Bloke's a complete fucking maniac.
-
So much faith in Cabella that he was favouring both Obertan and Gouffran as recently as last month.
-
How many places has MYM caused bother? When has Mascherano been a problem in the dressing room? Such a shit excuse for a shit manager. The irony is that Ba also had a history of it, and when he tried it here, Pardew bent over backwards and mangled the whole team, including the front three that HBA was bossing, to try and keep him happy. Both Ba and Cabaye behaved far worse than Ben Arfa ever has here but never found themselves out of the team for it. Tooj is right - always double standards.
-
Come on now Hans, he was given "several starts".
-
The fucking irony of Pardew's number one fan Cronky accusing people of ignoring what has happened at previous clubs.
-
I genuinely don't know how someone can follow NUFC yet at the same time be of the genuine belief that Ben Arfa was given regular starts over 2-3 seasons. He's never started more than 16 league games in a season for us (even Obertan managed more). Last year he started less top flight games than a player now playing in the Turkish second division. How can anyone pay attention to the club and yet be so misinformed?
-
Pardew would never do anything like that, he's a really nice bloke just trying his best.
-
We have a manager who is excellent at dealing with missing key players so don't worry about it ffs.
-
If we'd had him in our squad (and Souness wasn't being just as much of a cunt to Robert), we'd have won that quarter final against Sporting and faced AZ Alkmaar in the semis. But at least we got rid of both "bad apples" \o/
-
A slight ankle knock and he's on crutches? Hmm.
-
He was perfectly within his rights to take on a manager who did damage to the club that we've never recovered from.
-
Pretty sure he's not like.

Yet back in 2011, Steve Stone was telling all and sundry how wonderful Pardew was for, guess what, ceding possession: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/legacy/thefootballtacticsblog/2011/10/newcastle_profit_from_pardews.html

Picked lazy Ben Arfa against Arsenal and Liverpool, both away, and got a point in both. Then dropped him against Burnley and lost. Aye, that certainly reflects badly on HBA. Bruce is a cretin. I already knew that.

He's welcome to work again. Why does it have to be football? If no club wants him, tough, get down the job centre. Nobody's preventing him from working.
-
Jobs where he would be considered a risk are closed off to him, unless we think he's going to rape a teammate I don't think it applies. Plenty of companies won't hire a convicted rapist though, or even a convicted criminal. If a particular football club wants to sign him, that's their decision. But if nobody wants to, he'll have to find a cleaning job somewhere. That's life.
-
You can't say "chances are he didn't intentionally rape this woman" you have nothing to base that on. His own vehement protestation that he's innocent despite the conviction is what I'm basing it on. The court would have come down like a ton of bricks if there was a hint of him raping her "on purpose", whereas the conviction was largely circumstancial. Hmm there is a sentencing guideline for most offences that is very commonly used by Judges. They use it to fit cases into a category which then suggests a starting point for sentence and a range. Looks like the Judge took a view that this was a category 3 rape (least serious). It has a starting point of 5 years. Rapes admittedly involve the same act but some are far worse than others. There seems to be a bit of a trend that you're not allowed to say this, which strikes me as completely bizarre.
-
The length of sentence isn't a problem, it's this daft law where everyone is eligible for release at half time. Makes a a bit of a farce of the whole idea of sentencing tbh.
-
It's not as simple as that though is it, they paid 2 million quid for him or whatever and if they pass on this it might cost them more money. Really? I assumed he was currently just a free agent.
-
Course he should be able to work again but I don't really think he should have a right to play football again any more than anyone else convicted of rape should have a right to a particular type of job when they come back out. He'll have to be grateful for whoever is willing to employ him again, whether that's Sheffield United or Tesco. I wouldn't want him here, that's for sure.
