  1. .com: Two home replacements gave them some more threat up front but again Scott Sinclair's best efforts were from distance and Danny Graham also rarely looked like scoring against his former side - Wayne Routledge similarly impotent. Graham was never on our books to my knowledge.
  2. Why even argue with him? Dear me.
  3. I just think of Cattermole's face standing next to Kevin Nolan in the tunnel before the 5-1. Never seen anyone look so absolutely shit scared in my life.

Don't see how anyone has to eat humble pie on the comments made before WBA. He's playing the way a lot of us said we should be playing, less hit and hope, more football on the ground, Ben Arfa, Ba and Cisse all in the team. It's the people who said "he's doing the best he can because he doesn't have the players to play anything other than long ball" who were more wrong tbh.
  5. Yes, seems a sensible suggestion, let's replace him with a worse player. FFS.
  6. Sky Sports had us at 23% possession. I've actually never seen it that low. Just goes to show how little a statistical game football is. If you go on the stats, it was very much like our game at Blackburn - they had significantly more shots, corners and possession but the games were worlds apart in terms of how they panned out. Thought we were comfortable today and deserved to win.
  7. No way on Earth I would be resting him on Monday. Great opportunity for him to grab a goal and a week off to follow.
  8. Just needs a goal. Didn't play very well today but how often does that happen? Don't see the point in worrying about it, just look forward to him scoring again. It's rare that a player scores so consistently throughout the season anyway, it's only noticeable because Cisse has done so well.
  9. Think we've played it pretty well so far tbh, they look absolutely toothless without Graham and Sinclair.

Even after being sacked, he's still absolutely obsessed with the derby. Fat headed turd.
  11. Outrageous odds on HBA first goal again, 11-1 ffs. Less likely to score first than Shola, Nathan Dyer, Luke Moore and Leroy Lita?? Get on it.
  12. Just had a read of the match report from when we played them up here in the Championship, have absolutely zero recollection of even a single second of that game.
  13. Aye I like the European round up and I need something for the walk to work since the Tuesday Club and the Ramble don't surface till later in the week. Tbf I don't mind them, it's only when it comes to Newcastle that it winds me up.
  14. Thought we might get a little bit of credit from either the Times or Guardian podcasts yesterday, seeing as we barely got a mention after WBA, but instead the only thing of substance that any of them had to say was both calling James Perch "despicable".
  15. On 5Live last night, Phil Neville said he watched our game against Arsenal with Johnny Heitinga, who said that Krul and van Persie are actually two of the best mates in the Dutch squad, well they were anyway.
  16. Maybe it's my black and white goggles but I reckon Krul's been better than Hart. A lot more to do for a start.
  17. Some bloke singing "He paid for our team, he paid for our team, Andy Carroll, he paid for our team" was getting a good reception down the side of the East Stand after the game.
  18. It's actually very clever goalkeeping from Krul. In that situation, there's generally two things that happen, the goalkeeper takes either ball or man, either way the striker goes to ground. The third option of neither almost never happens, so Carroll preempts it, as loads of players start falling before contact. The only problem is when that contact doesn't come, you look very silly indeed. Great goalkeeping tactic though, especially as more and more players preempt tackles. I think most players now, bearing down on goal when the keeper starts to rush out, their main priority at that point is to get the ball in a position where a keeper trying to claim it will clean them out, which is why so many players go so wide into a position where they clearly can't score but are likely to get clattered.
