On the contrary, people around me were getting very pissed off with the constant stream of long balls aimed at Best against West Brom. It was the same at Bolton, every time Krul got it, you'd think the ref had told him to give it back to Jaaskelainen.
-
Never seen a single thing from N'Gog to suggest he's a Premier League player in a month of Sundays.
-
Bale's one of those all-too-rare players with a footballing brain and technique to compliment the ridiculous pace. Frightening player when he's on his game.
-
He's got to sort out his problem with staying onside, it was fucking embarrassing yesterday.
-
Surprised people thought he had a good game, I thought he was as poor as he's been at any point in the season, absolutely abysmal, the crowd in general around me were very unhappy with him too. I also agree with tmonkey that it was a much better finish than it was an assist, gave Ba more to do than he should have had. What the fuck do our wide players get coached given their reluctance to take a touch and whack it low into the box? Chelsea and Spurs in their game last week scored two of the simplest goals you can see, two quick wide players getting half a yard and simply putting it into a dangerous area and we never ever do it. Only example I can think of this season is Simpson's cross against Everton diverted in by Heitinga, which was the right idea but Tim Howard was about to throw his cap on it until his centre half poked it past him.

It's Anfield. With that in mind, we've got absolutely no chance of getting anything. I'd give up everything I've got to take three points off the bastards though.
-
He is a PSG fan also, not that I think for a second that he's going anywhere. Yet.
-
Doubt he'll even play tbh.
-
I know they're still in the bottom three but I'm amazed Martinez has managed as many points as he has. He's doing a bang up job under difficult circumstances, they'd be mad not to keep him on even if they go down.

Very much enjoyed yesterday's trip, great result given the performances leading up to it so that NUFC didn't completely ruin Christmas. Performance wise, it was very poor until the goal really, Best and Obertan were absolutely atrocious, particularly the former who could barely control the ball most of the time. Great to have Williamson back though, he made a massive difference. Bolton I fear for, they are the worst team in the division imo. Obviously Holden and Lee being out for so long has really hurt them but they've also got absolutely jack shit up front and a terrible defence. Doesn't look good.

FFS. Taking the absolute piss.

Not sure I'd know Rob Elliott if he came up and smacked me in the face.

It's bullshit anyway, there was no booing, there was a bit of a cheer when his number went up but that's more a dig at the manager for taking so long to haul off a player having a shocker and for putting him on the field week after week. "He was the man of the first half, by some distance", aye righto.

"It's not the Greeks, it's the Chinese he's after!" Oh man. Possibly one of my favourite comedy scenes ever.

Wigan 27? Some of theirs must have been arrested several times.

They're a truly vile club. Dominance in the 70s and 80s followed by being overtaken by their most hated rivals has left them with a monstrous chip on their shoulder - they sincerely believe they are one of the greatest clubs in the world based on a period that hit the skids before many of their current fans were even born and the fact that what they actually achieve on the field doesn't match up to this makes them very bitter. Add this to the Hillsborough issue (don't mention Heysel though, apart from when you're holding up banners gloating that your murderous actions prevented your city rivals from a shot at the European Cup) and this leaves them also believing they're the most hard done to club in the country and everyone is out to get them when in fact the opposite is true and the media, the FA, UEFA have been kissing their arse for years. Now something has happened to throw that off the rails, they don't like it. Yet look at said city rivals. Top flight club since the beginning of time, won stuff, played in Europe, all the rest of it, not like they're a Tranmere - has anyone really got a bad word to say about Everton in general? Just goes to show it's not even the place, it's just that club. Vile fucking scum right through - the manager, the players, the supporters, and I'd love nothing more than to see the utter twats crash and burn.
-
Shola and Sammy for the last couple of games? Give over man.
-
Who is it that decides which words are acceptable?
-
See, that's what our wingers should be doing. It would be so easy for Obertan to use his pace like that to get half a yard ahead of the full back and slide a low cross into a dangerous area before the defence can set themselves for an incoming striker to tap in. Bale hasn't done anything special there, just used his pace properly and delivered early.
-
Has there been any word on his injury and whether he'll play at Bolton?
-
Is this based on anything more than a figment of your imagination? Post-Ramadan goals scored by our strike 'pairing'... Ba + Best/Shola WBA: 2 Swansea: 0 Norwich: 2 Everton: 0 Stoke: 3 Wigan: 0 Spurs: 2 Wolves: 1 Blackburn: 3 Villa: 1 QPR: 0 Ba+HBA Chelsea: 0 Man Utd: 1 Man City: 0 Blackburn: 0 Nothing scientific by a long shot, but it's more than plausible that the extra 'big unit' up front creates a bit of extra space for Ba to work his magic. Fuck me. I reckon it's more plausible that three of those four are three of the best teams in Europe, just a sneaking suspicion like.

Why would he just say black people when discussing racism in English football? Can Ji-Sung Park not be a possible target of racism, or Michael Chopra? "Coloured" generally means non-white which is what he was talking about. I'd be interested to know how our free speech in Britain compares to other Westernised countries. Nobody would defend Alan Hansen's right to wear a white hood on MOTD but complaining about a harmless word in a harmless context on a football show, regardless of whether you're black or white, is canny pathetic if you ask me.
