Why are Enrique's wages even up for discussion when the man himself has said that it is the club's broken promises and lack of ambition that have him thinking twice about signing up again? I find the insinuation that one of our top class players, who gave everything to get us out of the mess we were in, is suddenly just out for the money, very unsavoury indeed.

They'll be well aware that the only way they can get back to the top level is by buying top players like Jose though. You can't try and get there on the cheap then spend it when you get it, it doesn't work. Shepherd tried that in 2003 and blew it. I think the one time they did this season it was fucking Nicky Butt. The derby at SJP was a classic pundit selection.
