  1. Indeed, or someone like Park. We can dream.
  2. I don't think they want the ground, they just don't want a much bigger club moving in a stone's throw away from their place, which seems fair enough to me.
  3. I prefer to use my eyes rather than judge on what he did elsewhere. The player I watched last year would comfortably be good enough for the top flight. Psychologically, there seems to be a problem. Ability wise, no way. Not seen anybody give Jose the runaround as much in four years. Deciding he's not good enough without making efforts to get him to use his clear assets is a cop out imo.
  4. Four years? No Chance. Nah, three coming up. And yes he is better than Lovenkrands but with the money at our disposal, I'm not sure that's the only criteria we need to fulfil.
  5. He's been absolutely dreadful at Bolton for, what, four years other than a three month purple patch this season. Didn't manage a league goal for nearly a year at one point.
  6. Elmander's dross but I'd love Sturridge here. Looks a much better player than I gave him credit for, would be even better if he hadn't gotten silly and done a Shaun Wright Phillips. Needs to get away from Chelsea.
  7. Are they as good as Andy Carroll? He's the type of player who'll get you Champions League football. Those three might keep you up, if you're lucky. We need a player as good as him to be on a par with the beginning of this season, before we do anything else. An inferior player means we've gone backwards. Shouldn't be a problem considering how good our scouting is.
  8. Yeah thats the one i was thinking about, doesnt come close to suggesting that is over the length of a contract though as people keep saying. Just likely means we spend for example £25m on fees and £10m goes towards all wages/signing on fees etc. Trouble is £25m won't even buy a replacement for AC, never mind anything else. Peter Odemwingie 11 goals £1million Clint Dempsey 10 goals £2.5million Hugo Rodallega 10 goals (last season) £4.5million Just from the last couple of season, but going back through the years there are plenty of examples of players who didn't cost a fortune but performed in the Premiership. Yes, there are players who didn't perform, but it's far more obvious when they've got a large transfer fee attached to their name (see: Torres, F) And how much do they do for the rest of the team? He had six assists by December, that's without even considering the amount of play that went through him. Just signing a goalscorer isn't enough having lost a player like Carroll - that's why he's worth far more money than someone like Bent. Do you think those three players are as good as Andy Carroll?

  10. Ji Sung Park's one of my favourite non-NUFC players.
  11. Oh dear. I'm asking, I'm not certain..Beckham, Scholes, Giggs, Butt, Neville x+ he did some seriously good buys in irwing and Cantona and Schmeichel...Or am I wrong? My point was that he held onto his homegrown players because he knew they were the lifeblood of the club, and still retains several of them 20 years later. He didn't sell them to the first fucking bidder.
  12. Big clubs have, according to the rags, been looking at Clichy... The likes of Barca and AC Milan have been mentioned... Don't understand why but unless he is planning on selling. Doubt it. being honest trading out clichy for baines would be a very good decision by wenger, can't see it happening mind My sentiments exactly. Doesn't Wenger rate Gibbs? If so I'd imagine he'll be too stubborn to go out and pay so much for a player in a position where one of 'his kids' is coming through. Baines is worth more than £10m as well. I know Gibbs is still young but he's looked very poor every time I've seen him recently.
  13. The thing I like about Punk is that most of the time his waffle is too ridiculous for even me to bite.
  14. Those are pre-Carroll I believe. I might be wrong but I'm fairly sure that includes the Carroll sale. We were definitely higher up the table last time I checked. Fair enough, thought UV had said at one point that they were pre-AC but I can't be arsed to check.
  15. Proof that they were forced out? i.e. refusing to sign a transfer request or it being known that they weren't wanted. And how will that proof manifest itself? If the club accept an offer that surely that alone is proof that they're not wanted.
  16. I'm not one of those who doesn't mind getting beat as long as the books balance. If that makes me less of a supporter then so be it. I'm not too sure this season would have been much different had we not sold Carroll tbh. Next season's the acid test. What about if we'd not had him from the start of the season? Really not sure what your point is now like. That the club have deliberately reduced the squad to relegation standard and are gambling with next season's survival.

  19. Because only a year back Barton was a complete waste of space and Guthrie was a good midfielder for the side. We're not doing the whole hindsight s*** again are we? "HAHA You thought Barton was s*** and look at him now!!!!1" Sorry that we don't all have a crystal ball like you. Wullie has a blind spot when it comes to players like Guthrie and Lovenkrands. Probably because it's more fun to blame the owner than players who just aren't performing. I get slated when I'm "negative" about the owner, I get slated when I defend average/poor players who are doing their best for NUFC. It's getting to a point on here where the owner and his lackeys are the only people who it is OK to defend. Canny pathetic imo, and very ironic coming from someone who defended Titus Bramble vociferously every week no matter what.
