Stops me looking like an utter fool by needlessly protesting against somebody whom it has already proven it will not affect at all. But no, we have to do it to show others that we will not stand for it. Why the f*** we should care what other people think about is like, it's not like they don't just make their own opinions anyway! i thought the first protest forced ashley to publicly put the club up for sale no sorry that was you keeping your arse warm! There was a lot out there protesting against Ashley I was supporting the team. There was the same result - he's still here afterall. Jonny Hall confirms himself as the most apathetic, fence sitting apologist ever to post on here! Jonny must be so proud he took the higher ground I'm not taking the higher ground, I'm just refusing to put my efforts into something that clearly won't work. It's been proven in the past that the great fat one doesn't respond to protests and boycotts and whatever, he's greedy and he's smug and will just laugh at any resistance to his plans. When? HE'S STILL HERE. Although they've been on a smale scale, there have been no indications that he'd be 'scared' into selling the club. If there was, he'd have sold for pennies when he first put the club up, or when he put it up in the summer. He hasn't been subjected to either of those things on any sort of scale, never mind small. A few hundred outside after two games last season, f*** me, it's hardly Tiananmen Square. Shepherd got far worse. f*** knows why. If the stadium was absolutely empty, not a soul in but the away fans, he would absolutely s*** himself. That's debatable. If he really wanted bums on seats, he'd have made a signing (either player or manager) to appease the fans. He knows that a Shearer appointment for example would guarentee people in the ground every week. Plus he's already got the money from season tickets so half of people not turning up is pointless. It may make him shit himself, but all he would do is put us back on the market where he'd fuck around with it all for another few months before taking it back off and making some ridiculous commitment statement. It's a never-ending roundabout. We just have to face it, he will only leave when he gets off his fat arse and makes the moves, we can't make him do anything. Why would he need to make a signing to appease the fans and get bums on seats? He's made a profit on transfers and he's getting 44,000 in watching us play Doncaster Rovers. He thinks we're fucking stupid and will take anything as long as it's wrapped in a black and white shirt and he might just be right. I never thought I'd see Newcastle United fans just lie down and take such treatment with the pathetic whimper we have. What's most depressing is that it's taken this talk of the name change to get people's backs up - he even managed to get us relegated without anyone kicking up a fuss ffs. What has happened to us?

Not sure how protesting somehow equates to not supporting the team, as has been bandied around this place for the last 12 months. We've stood and watched the club be taken to its knees under the guise of "don't rock the boat." We've been total cowards as a fanbase - the latest TF main article has it spot on.

    WTF?

    Cracking OP.
  6. If they put The Simpsons on the screen so I don't have to watch the fucking dross on the pitch, I'm all for it.
  7. In all seriousness, we should have a whip round and get some of the lads off the 28 Days Later forum to climb up in the dead of night and tear that hideous Sports Direct logo off the Gallowgate.
  8. "There is an ownership to it and the history is wonderful, we are not trying take it away, we are just trying to add to the revenue to our club." Fuck off, you thoroughly despicable cunt.
  9. I think Adidas make woeful shirts these days, generally all to one boring template. Nike's are much nicer.

    Is it just me?

Enjoyed this season to start with but apathy has taken over as the club drifts nowhere fast. I enjoy watching the games but that's about it, my habit of knowing everything that was going on at the club has disappeared.
  11. IMO all they do is provide good photo oppotunities when you take a pasting. I've got all the pictures of the scoreboard saved from every arse kicking we've given the mackems at their place over the last few years.
  12. I wish he'd bloody start shooting, he's perfectly entitled to when he's just skipped past half the opposition for the 14th time in the game.
  13. The Alan Smith Guide to Popularity: a) accept pass from teammate b) immediately lose ball due to having a touch like a trampoline c) attempt lunging tackle to win ball back d) give opposition a throw in if lucky, free kick if not so lucky e) accept rapturous applause/yellow card f) repeat
  14. If the last year or so has shown anything it's shown that for the most part Newcastle supporters are either unwilling or too apathetic to do anything to effectively express their anger at how the club is being run. Sure, there'll be people who ring in irately to phone ins, write angry letters to papers, or stand outside the ground and complain to any TV cameras present, but that's as far as it goes. Very little has been done which would actually affect Ashley in a tangible way and make him think twice about what he does or how he runs the club (don't fool yourself that the limited Keegan protests made Ashley decide to sell the club, with hindsight it's obvious that there was plenty of truth in the numerous rumours that he'd been trying to flog it from the minute Keegan was appointed). The fact that Sports Direct shops are still healthily trading in the centre of a city where the majority of the population are supposed to be mad supporters of the club shows that saving a couple of quid on a pair of trackie bottoms is more important to most than making a stand against the destruction of the club. If anything the people or groups who have actually tried to do something or organise things to try and get Ashley to even acknowledge the supporter's views have come in for more criticism and even blame from a lot of people than the owner and his cronies themselves - don't rock the boat sailing into the iceberg, or it's your fault if it sinks. Welcome to <your name here>FC. Shit all over us and we'll keep on giving you our cash. Cracking post.
  15. I don't like them either but at least they stand up for themselves. We just bend over and grab our ankles under the guise of not upsetting the applecart, even when the applecart is flying down a hill straight into a brick wall.
  16. Give over. Why should I pay £70 or whatever for astroturf trainers, shorts and socks elsewhere when I can get the same for half of that price there? My point exactly. Personally I'd rather pay a grand for them than line his pockets any more than I have to. There are clubs where it would happen - Liverpool for example.
  17. I'd like to think that Newcastle fans would partake in a blanket boycott of whoever gets the naming rights but I know it wouldn't happen, we're too bloody soft. You just have to look at the amount of pricks wandering round town with Sports Direct carrier bags to realise that.
  18. Pity the penny still hasn't dropped for some of the nuggets on here.
  19. We should use Gallowgate as it was originally and get a noose put up.
  20. Absolute fucking scum. Someone take a sledgehammer to his car, or better, his skull.
  21. Bloody Man City, useless twats.
