did you see him get skinned by Griffin? that was quality by griffin. had jonas done it you'd have still been wanking over it. it was class tbf. made me laugh though, not what id expect from him. Was pretty much on exactly the same blade of grass as he crossed from against Juventus for the goal too wasn't it?
-
Aye I thought him and Charlie caused them loads of bother first half until Jonas got switched into the centre and was told not to attack.
-
What a pass from Oba. Glad we didn't attack with these useless buggers second half, we could easily have thrown it away. nowt about the movement from the bloke who received the passes ? Absolutely. If we'd bothered to give him some service second half, we might have had a hatful. Understandable though against such a good side. That free kick is even more ridiculous than it looked at the time mind. Fucking joke of a decision from a linesman standing 2 yards away. Mong.

You'd tempt me for that, as long as I can pick the team at half 12 and be in the pub by 1.

I've only been to Stoke once, to the cinema. That was enough.
-
Indeed, points like that are only any use if you win your home games against dross like Stoke. I'd rather get beat 10-0 at Stamford Bridge and beat Stoke than get a point down there only to end up fucking up like today.
-
Whereas we'll look like geniuses by getting relegated.
-
Probably pissed off at being sold to Stoke. That makes two of us.
-
You say 'already' as if he's not a manager who got sacked from Luton and Nottingham Forest. We're not a fucking charity case, giving a chance to clueless managers from all over the globe ffs. That's the sort of attitude that nearly had Graeme Souness take us to the wall.
-
Just put yet another tenner on us being relegated, at least the thieving leech won't put me too much out of pocket for my Championship season ticket.
-
Reminds me of the episode of Seinfeld where Jerry takes a jacket back "out of spite". That is why Kinnear is here - spite. Ashley will have roared with laughter when Faye scored today. He knows he won't get his money back and is quite happy to see us go down instead for revenge.
-
You can't go with that formation against Stoke ffs. They've got players like Amdy Faye and Richard Cresswell who will DESTROY YOU given half a chance.
-
Allardyce cost us the game at Chelsea last season by taking Martins off and under Kinnear it's started to happen again. Anyone with the slightest common sense can see that Martins' presence forces the opposition to play a much deeper line. Boro battered us last week with Martins off and Stoke did the same today. Utterly fucking clueless.
-
The players didn't tell each other to sit on the edge on the 18 yard box because of the threat of Stoke and WBA. The players didn't decide to bring Martins off enabling Stoke to push up 20 yards. The players didn't decide to replace Guthrie by moving three players out of position. The players didn't replace our only vaguely central midfielder with a centre half.
-
Typical 4-2-2 Owen today - two goals due to his positional sense and contributed fuck all else.
-
Classic Kinnear. We will be relegated this season because of this man. No bottle, no spine, no clue.

I still can't get my head round the amount of people who thought the bloke was vaguely competent.

OK, I don't see any Racism in that. It's interpreted, quite understandably, as the negative stereotype which says muslims = terrorists. Racism is the wrong word because Islam isn't a "race", but it's the same kind of bigotry: taking a negative characteristic from one or some and applying it to all members of a human category. "All them blacks/Jews/Muslims is lazy/miserly/terrorists." Why weren't the Newcastle fans singing it at Tuncay? Yeah, great excuse. "It can't be prejudice because it was only directed at one guy." And why do you think it was directed at one guy, and one guy only. Could it possibly be the fact that (pre-haircut) he had a passing resemblence to a Mr Richard Reid, something that had already been picked up by other football club supporters and the press? You can chunder on about Richard Reid to your heart's content, but anyone looking at this is going to deal with the words that were actually said. Ok then, why don't you tell us all why Mido was singled out last year then if it wasn't anything to do with looking like Richard Reid? Fuck knows how these morons think. You've had it explained more than once.

I guess that they could claim Incitement to Religious Hatred but I doubt that could be proven when looking at the chant. I'm afraid I'm not well-versed in the legalities, but I'm sure it doesn't just have to be about "race" to count as hate speech. Jews aren't a "race" but that doesn't mean that prejudice against them doesn't exist or doesn't matter. I think you'll find Jews are a race.

jonas puts in the defensive work however he is more effective out wide. Both N'Zogbia and Jonas like to come inside and both work hard and get stuck in. I think it could work with the pair of them and Butt/Guthrie until Barton returns.
