  1. Immense but not very mobile. I think we have better options to be fair.
  2. My mistype - I meant v Fulham. I mixed it up with Spurs in reference to the guy at the office... I stand corrected. Side note; GOAL 2 featured this goal in the opening scenes.
  3. The Bellamy goal v. Feyenoord has been mentioned many times but for me it sticks out for a different reason. Over here in Canada I am surrounded by band wagon jumpers (Chelsea, Manure mostly) and then Italians who follow Serie A. I was in physio getting my knee worked on and they had the game on TV. I was confined to a bed next to a self proclaimed expert who kept telling anyone who would listen that Newcastle were out classed and really didn't belong at this level etc. When the goal went in I started yelling YESSSSSS!!! Get the F*CK INNNNN!!! The physio came over and had to warn me that I was wrecking my knee and to sit still. The other is Robert's "ninja kick" v Spurs. Ripped the piss out of the Spurs supporter at work over it asking if Spurs EVER entertained their fans with sh*t like that.

    Joey Barton

Is there an opportunity for CH to approach the match officials and speak to them about players targeting Barton? Or will this just backfire? In our 11 a side league there is one player that is a dirty c*nt and our captain has a quiet word with the ref before the game and it seems to work. No whingeing, just "can you have an eye on #7 - he gets a little aggressive".
  5. where was he playing before ? Porn United - sprays all over the place but he scores quite a bit.
  6. Sorry for my ignorance but the teamsheet lists the numbers 1 through 11. Do they not wear their squad numbers for reserve matches? Of course not, there are not even names on the shirts I suppose. Why "of course not"? Tim Krul is wearing #1 but his squad number is 26. Why not wear the same kit for both?
  7. Sorry for my ignorance but the teamsheet lists the numbers 1 through 11. Do they not wear their squad numbers for reserve matches? Judging by the backs of the Sunderland tops in this photo: http://tweetphoto.com/42550399 I'd say no!! Cheers for that - just assumed that they would wear the numbers the club gave them.

  9. I am thinking draw. CH respects McCarthy and knows that this will be a tough (scrappy) match. I think he will set us up for an away point.
  10. Hughton was quoted as saying Ben Arfa was "very unlikely", it's just been the French media and OM who've been doing all the talking. There's been nowt, other than us saying we're waiting on Tiote's work permit. Hughton's remained tight-lipped for the rest, he was even coy about the Sol transfer when asked at Carlisle. The Perch one was only known because we bid in January. Fair shout - you are right. It just seems that the HBA deal has been a pissing match so I thought CH was getting his leg wet with the rest. When I think about it - he hasn't said anything or been drawn in by the media. Much like the S Taylor comments on Sky Sports. Colour me corrected...
  11. It is also the way he has handled transfers for me. In the past (remember the Rooney bid a few years ago?) it was all over the place with claims of "you won't believe the players we have lined up" bullsh*t. Now - barring HBA it seems the announcements are made after the deal is virtually done.
  12. Just watched the Sky Sports clip and I must say that CH exudes class. He answered the questions in a measured and intelligent tone and gave away nothing. I have to admit that it is refreshing given the sensational quotes that have been plastered all over the media in the past. Well played.
  13. I saw this as well, with Carroll playing at the back post. I think it just looks like a 4-5-1 because Nolan is slow...
  14. We have one guy on the team who insists that he is God's gift to coaching. He takes the team talk and turns it in to a cluster f*ck of tactics that make no sense. He is the same guy who tries a rocket from half way every few minutes only to see the ball miss high and wide EVERY time. When he plays we lose half our matches. When he is on holiday we win most of the time and play very freely and have fun.
  15. Not sure anyone in the rest of the world gives a f*** about navel gazing luddites.
  16. The problem with the black and white templates is that they look like North American referee's shirts. I like the more stylized b&w stripes to differentiate.
  17. Apparently, one for the league and one for cup competitions...
  18. Hopefully the slight delay and everyone slating it off will possibly see them change it. Hopefully the shirt looks better on than it does lying on the ground and there is not f***ing patch. No chance IMO. The manufacturing cycle is 120 days. These shirts began the design and spec process as soon as the deal was announced. The pre-production samples were likely available around May 1-10 with product in containers and ready to ship this week at the very latest if they hope to sell them at the beginning of August. The change kits were ex-factory 10 June to be in stores for 15 July.
  19. The NIKE curse in full effect...
  20. Blatantly offside. Just saw the replay - no question, good call.
  21. The CBC commentary at the half is all about how bad the pitch looks. They are predicting that it will have an effect in the later stages of the game. Their thought is that England will cope better. Let's hope so.
  22. Watching Milner today - he must have been really ill for the USA match. Different player today.
  23. Here is another interesting quote that backs up my feeling that there is something going on between the players and Capello. I just get the feeling that there is not a great team spirit. ... and to have Shrek taking a pop at the supporters is ridiculous. BBC Radio 5 live's Graham Taylor "I do now believe there's a real danger of England going out. They're something not right behind the scenes. I don't know what it is. I have an idea: I don't believe the proper preparatory work is being done. Look at the body language: something is wrong."
