Said that both he and Ashley felt it was the right time to go - Ashley brought him in as manager, down to the job he did at West Ham. That's what really gets me. A football team and its owner should in principle have the same incentives as the fans. Those should be basic fundamentals but have somehow gotten skewed. How on earth can an owner get away with changing the name of a traditional club to 'Tigers' ffs or changing a team's colour from blue to red? Owners should be absolutely terrified of decisions like this. You have to wonder why it isn't in the best interest of Mike Ashley to provide entertaining football and/or strive for success. It's because PL clubs have become the play-things of very rich men, who act on a whim. The government should force through the german model, where no-one person has overall control. However, money and power talk.
