  1. Bit of a difference between slapping in a £12m bid for a player with 2 hours to go, and making bids with 2 days to go. I disagree. I hope we sign Grennier, but I have little faith in it happening, purely on what they have done in the past.
  2. They also 'bid' for Kieron Richardson, when he was at the mackems (season when we were relegated) The club has form for lying to the media and fans and has admitted as such - over the KK debacle. I can't see them stopping just because they were caught 'once'.
  3. was that you? Certainly was. Martin (who is hosting tonight) is a red and white and I get the feeling he's not very patient with us lot. Tried to stop me in my tracks, but I kept on going and got my point over, with Ando agreeing.
  4. Just been on Radio Newcastle and called Kinnear 'Walter Mitty'.
  5. Need to get him signed up, but I've got no faith it will happen. These 'ghost' bids have been done before - usually on deadline day. No intention to sign, but so they can try and placate folk that they tried. Hope I am wrong though.
  6. Bid will have gone in, but no intention of signing the kid (or anyone else) Will then say before the derby that 'they tried'. Rinse and repeat.
  7. Not sure where this target man idea comes from - Dutch mates I asked earlier, reckons he's better playing as a 2nd striker. Either way, it's a good opportunity for him - lets just hope he takes it.
  8. Need him to be fit for Saturday. Our only bit of creativity
  9. Pardew talks out of his backside - remember Kinnear said the other week in the programme that no player would be sold, this window. They all tell that many lies, they don't know when they are telling the truth! I'll be genuinely amazed if we manage to source a quality replacement for Cabaye, by 11pm on Friday night.
  10. Mick Lowes towing the club line on Radio Newcastle.
  11. Happy enough with the side. What a cracking night for Adam Armstrong
  12. From a Dutch friend of mine on FB; " Pretty good in Holland, managed to be called up. Failed in Germany. Is a good forward (striker / just behind the forwards) - but not great. He COULD be good player for the Premiership though. And could be a good fit at Newcastle. Obviously he knows Tiote - as I think they played together and to a lesser extent Anita and Krul"
  13. Its not? It's spending way, way less than is coming in. Ashley runs the club like paupers, but it's far from it.
  14. The club isn't even spending within it's means, if you factor in that we haven't permanently signed a first team player for the last two transfer windows (assuming de Jong on loan is the only deal this window) Begs the question - where is the money going?
  15. A balance sheet supporter are those who believe the club line, that the club is on it's arse, but is living within it's means, because it's terrified of doing a 'Leeds or Portsmouth'. These are the same fans that will get a hard on when the club accounts are released in March, because it's back in profit - barely, after Ashley has taken his cut. Expectations have been so hammered down over the last 5 years, that it's untrue to the point that even to 'dream of better' is to be called a mentalist, because we are little old Newcastle and can't compete with the likes of Hull, Everton, Southampton and Swansea. We are a Premier League club ran with a League Two mentality.
  16. We've been been here before - some of us older supporters (such as me, Merlin and Wally McFool, etc) Better players have been sold off - all because it was good business and the club lacked ambition. Supermac, Waddle, Beardsley, Gascoigne, Ferdinand, Given and now Cabaye have all been peddled, whilst the club keeps on going nowhere as is as far from realizing it's undoubted potential as ever. Ashley will be loving it - Cayabe goes, de Jong comes in (on loan) and for some, all is now well with the world! Is this what many new fans are about - all balance sheet supporters? Makes me sick. Aye, I might be long in the tooth and some will call me for banging on the same drum all the time. I'd rather that than be a soppy set of cunts though.
  17. No excuses now to not fetch in a replacement. Sad to see him go, but why should he stay when the club has no ambition? Ashley wins again - more profit and the club safe from relegation.
  18. I know its shit to see Cabaye go and Ashley's a cunt but ffs stop this trousering bollocks. Do you genuinely believe that the transfer fee will be reinvested in the club - the same way as the Carroll cash was?
  19. Selling your best player before the derby - huge levels of /o\ Ashley must be getting a major hard-on as we speak, with all of that money coming that he will no doubt end up trousering. Will be amazed if a replacement is sourced and if it's like for like.
  20. As I said in the other thread, if we are in for him it would suggest Cabaye is on his way. He fits the bill of an Ashley signing - young, with more potential.
  21. Terrific take We'll see over the next few days if our interest is genuine. Would suggest that if we are in for him, then Cabaye is off and soon.
