  1. Lucy Bronze just said on BBC that she's played the whole tournament with a fractured tibia. Hard as nails.
  2. Spanish bottled it there mind - but we'll take it.
  3. Lucky first pen! Re-take due to double kick after slip.
  4. Pens it's gonna be then. #HowayTheLasses
  5. Spain to pinch this in ET, I think. Momentum seems with them. (hope I'm wrong!)
  6. I've enjoyed the game, despite the biased ref and comms. It's been a good workout for the lads.
  7. We've done OK first half, I think. Look dangerous on the break - Arsenal breaking us down though with snide fouls.
  8. Some finish for the OG. Couldn't get his feet sorted out I think.
  9. What's this 'Shagger' business? Disappointing, but we aren't exactly short of goalkeepers at the moment. I do agree that there does seem to be something very amiss behind the scenes at NUFC. Is anyone actually making decisions at a boardroom level or is it all being left to PIF? (who are apparently notoriously slow!)
  10. .com's, take; Red menace: Isak: inevitable update Latest: The Times claim that a contract extension and substantial increase on his wages was offered to Alexander Isak by Newcastle but rejected. Earlier: Following confirmation of Alexander's Isak absence from the touring squad, the Mail are reporting that the player "told Newcastle he wants to explore a move away from the club" during the current transfer window. They stress that no formal transfer request has been made by the 25 year-old, no bids have been received and the player is not for sale according to his current club. None of those things matter though; the message is clear. A concerted campaign from the North West involving briefings to sympathetic media outlets has succeeded in unsettling the player and encouraged his representatives. This latest development will doubtless prompt a backlash against Isak from disgruntled Newcastle fans, which will then be advanced as a reason for his inevitable exit. How much blame can be attached to United is debatable, but a turnover of director level personalities hardly helps paint a picture of a club with a coherent strategy. Rightly or wrongly, there's a feeling the project has stalled and the grand off-field plans of PIF remain unannounced. Ultimately though it comes down to money. The Premier League have ensured that the Magpies cannot match the salary offered elsewhere - and cannot reject the offer made to them in exchange for their prize asset.
  11. He won't be the first big name player to leave us - he's done his bit. Got to make sure we get a really good fee, given that he's got 3 years left on his current deal. Then need to invest in a quality replacement+a back up to that player. It's disappointing, but that's football I guess. Eddie done the right thing in leaving him behind.
  12. Get well soon, Gazza. Wishing him a speedy recovery
  13. 4-1 win for Spartans at Gretna 2008 today.
  14. Another 6 weeks of this speculation to come. For the record, if Isak wants to move - it will happen. Howe won't want an unhappy player around the club. Just hope that we have a good replacement lined up if so.
