  1. Roeder doesn't want players on the wrong side of 30. That should rule Dailly out. If you could only have faith in Roeder. Original posted should have read 'the latter'. I have faith in Roeder - it's our fat b@stard of a chairman that I have zero confidence in, and it's he who pulls all the strings.
  2. I'd be a lot happier with Andrade, than Dailly. If we get the former - it shows the present ambition of the club. Not good enough. >
  3. I doubt very much that I will be renewing this summer. Cash is tight for me at present, and that couple with how the club is run at present, will ultimately be the deciding factor. I'll more-than-likely be picking and choosing my games, next season.
  4. At 2-0 down, I'd have taken the draw. Milly's goal (was it offside?) came at a crucial time to get us back in. Ramage was poor, but he didn't look fully fit - am I right in thinking he was carrying a knock before the game ? We shored it up when Edgar came on - he was quite impressive again I thought. We could have sneaked it in the end, but 2-2 is probably a fair result and I'm reasonably happy with our position, given the injury situation. New faces are needed though, and fast. An experienced CB and a LB would be a start.
  5. Someone made a point earlier that had it been Newcastle fan's instead of Liverpool, we'd still be protesting too. It's about making people aware of what actually happened, and not allow some of the ignorance which has shown itself in this thread to become the norm. Many of our younger poster's on here (though no fault of their own) have neverever stood on terraces where you are packed in like sardines. It often happened at St James during the bigger games - I understand because I did. Funnily enough - the week after Hillsbrough, we played Luton at home and the fences which penned fans into the terraces had been ripped down. It was a very, very solom (sp?) atmosphere - something I'll never forget, as with the previous weekend when the disaster occurred.
  6. Can't believe some of the rubbish that I've read in this thread from some so called Newcastle 'supporters'. It's no wonder that our reputation with other fans has gone downhill in recent years, when we have the amount of muppets in our ranks that we do. Take a good look at yourselves and be ashamed. :wullie: I'm old enough to remember Hillsbrough - the day itself and the few weeks that came afterwards. Fair play to the scousers for what they did last night - though I suspect they will never get the justice that they seek.

    Sunday gossip

No direct quotes, so more unsubstantiated speculation.
  8. Says a lot for some of the nuggets on here when they actually believe what was intended to be a wind-up. *shakes head* bluebiggrin.gif
  9. I'd have settled for a replay before the start of the game, but it's disappointing that we couldn't hand on in the end. Inexperience was perhaps our downfall here - we cannot rely on the youngsters indefinitely. New faces are needed and pronto.
  10. Bugger - DJ Campbell scores from a corner. More bad defending apparently - yet another set piece.
  11. Is he Tresor's younger brother or cousin ? blueconfused.gif
  12. Looks like Emre hasn't made it today (according to Radio Newcastle) - Butt returns, and they are also suggesting that Pattison will play left midfield. Why no Alan O'Brien ?
  13. Good news. Hopefully this will put an end to the recent speculation.
  14. I doubt it was planned - Parker probably had a lapse in concentration. It handed the initative straight back to the Mancs, who took advantage.
  15. It was stupid of Parker, when he knows Given is having a problem with his kicking at present, due to his groin problem.
  16. Good article - have to say. It does make you wonder about this 'curse' business. I remember Guillit saying that he felt the club was cursed, when he had his spell as boss. Whether you believe in it or not though - it's only right that the directors take the majority of the blame. They have used people's loyalty towards the club to feather their own nests for too long. It's been a money-making machine for the powers that be since the 2nd World War.
  17. Kind of ironic (a little) that Everton fans are kicking off about this, when nufc.com's match report has made note of some monkey noises aimed at Martins from some sections of the Everton crowd.
  18. True to a point, but we aren't even down to the bare bones - it's worse than that now.
  19. Just heard Roeder on the radio - says defending for the goals from set pieces was not good enough - 3rd goal was typical of our luck today. He has also backed Martins after his penalty miss. Bramble and Moore are out for another month. Ramage is going to be missing for a few weeks, though the extent of his hamstring problem isn't known yet. He's again refusing to use the injury crisis as an excuse and also added that the players need to keep on fighting and if anyone thinks we will lie down in upcoming games, then they are wrong. He also commented on the Barton speculation saying that midfield isn't an area we are looking to strengthen - he is happy with the numbers. Defence and attack are priorities.
  20. Sounds like we got off lightly with a 3-0 beating and it's worrying the way some of the players appeared to chuck in the towel. Where was our captain today ? No sign of him trying to encourage players - something that was picked up by the lads on Radio Newcastle. I'm very worried for Monday - Man United must be odds on to hammer us.
  21. Top lad. Needs to keep on doing the business on the park though. We've had too many players in the past who are happy to provide sound bites to the media about what they are gonna do, and then not back iu up on the pitch. I hope Oba is different - he does seem to be.
  22. I met him back in '94 in 'Suits You' in Eldon Square. Just so happened that I had my camera, and my ma took our picture, after he kindly agreeded. He couldn't get over the fact that I was 'a bit' taller than he is (I'm 6'8") bluecool.gif. He's still one helluva big bloke though. Absolute top class fella. If we can get him on the books as a coach, he'd be a wonderful addition to the setup.
