Never mind that, why exactly will the prices be lower now we're desperate? Half of the ones we seem to be linked with are freebies at the end of the season, so I'd hope so. One positive is that we can pretty much guarantee any potential centreback a starting spot at the moment.
-
The injuries are just getting silly now, and January can't come soon enough. The big worry is whether any of the players we'd targeted would still be interested if we continue in the God awful manner in which we're playing at the moment.

Pardew's wages are linked with our wage bill and our debt. It's also possible that his wages are linked to league position, qualifying for Europe, cup wins, etc. Couldn't say. We know that they are linked to the wage bill and the debt though. So, if he thinks he can get by with what we have then that's what will happen. Logical enough. It's his job and he has a set of objectives that can affect what he earns, naturally enough, they will influence his decisions. As they would yours and mine. Have i missed something? I mean I've seen people mention it before, but never thought anything of it other than speculative bollocks. How would anyone 'know' this? (aside from Pardew etc obviously) Its bollocks, good bollocks but bollocks all the same. From a "club source" just before Pardew took over... You what? Neither off those quotes, wherever they have been dragged from, back up Lotus' argument in any way whatsoever. In fact they offer almost exactly the opposite, what sounds like a sensible approach compared to the made up ravings of a tin foil be-topped lunatic. Who's this us out of interest?

Flair players? Yesterday? I'm struggling to think any of our players on the pitch could be considered 'flair players' beyond supposedly technically decent players in Santon and Anita.

Moyes didn't have a squad as good as this though. Besides that being open to debate, It has no bearing on the basic sentiment. Like Hughton I'd be happy to try a different tack now, hold our nerve and see Pardew crack on and supported for as long as he can be.
-
Id really love to see a manager not be hounded out after his first big slump, and actually get to see where backing someone ala Moyes actually takes us (for better or worse). Unless we are sitting in the bottom three come March, and even though I'm not loving what he or the team is doing at the moment. I'm all for sticking with him.

Fuck off... ...to this thread.

Betfair wont let me bet on him as first goalscorer. Good luck Nile son. Get us the winner.

Why does everything that happens have to be an excuse to have a go at "some people on here"? You mean, some people in the world, some people who have a different view to you. Incredible really. "Some people" who were wrong at the time and are even more wrong now. Not naming any names, of course... You didn't really get my question. Doesn't matter like. You could just admit you were wrong about it... As if. I'm only playing, dawg. My point is that most people (everywhere) realised we'd need a bigger squad than what we have now to compete in at least 2 competitions and it was just brushed under the carpet by Pardew when it didn't happen. Now it's dawned on him, when we're 12th, that a few more players would be helpful. Coincidence or stupidity? I don't think its either tbh. AP has to live with our transfer policy or go elsewhere. That policy has done him some real favours in the past but last time round it came up short. So he has his own internal battles to fight with Ashley/Llambias and whingeing about his squad in public after the August transfer window wouldn't have done him or the club any good. But he's winging about it now after saying it was brilliant a few months ago. He knows more than anyone how all that stuff works and it's only now a problem when we're/he's doing badly. If we were currently top 6 I doubt he'd be banging this particular drum. Yeah, he should have been whining about how most of the squad are substandard going into the new campaign. That'd have been helpful. He went about as far as you could sensibly go by saying he'd have liked one or two more at the time, and I don't think his actual opinion has changed one iota. Just that unlike the rest of us, he has to had his gob and give the media what's best for the club or the current bunch of players once in a while. Now, like the last window, he's giving the nudge nudge wink wink to the chairman to, seriously now, get me the fuck some players.

Ahhhhh Malandro, So good to see you bring the best kind of malodorous funk back to the table. Inarguable yet bordering on the suicidal. Awww yeah. good gawd! Hit meh!!

I don't think that's true. We bought a defensive midfielder who's adept at playing RB and maybe even a little LB if need be. Anita offers a lot of versatility that a pure CB would not. It shouldn't be one or the other. We've known for years that we needed a CB who can improve us but yet again we're stuck with 2 CB's who, at best, keep us treading water. I'd call the "policy" effective but not efficient. We get good players but not enough of them. When was the last time this was not the case? Considering the break even budget we have, I think we have a remarkable number of 'good players'.

I have been playing around with accents trying to replicate your issue with 'wonga'. This has led me to the possibility that you are inebriated, an Eton educated toff, or both.

want us to pull out of the Barclays premier league aswell, remember those boys that fixed LIBOR causing more distress than wonga could ever have a chance of doing ? Premier League should have cancelled Barclays sponsorship deal re LIBOR I'm sure other sponsors would have jumped at the opportunity to sponsor the PL. Wonga are a disgrace, can't ever remember any of the banks charging over 4000% on loans they offer!! You really cannot grasp the difference between short term/high risk loans from loan companies and long term loans from banks can you. -
And bashing the Premier League for having the temerity to be sponsored by them (with journalists bringing up Sharia law, while the MP's throw their season tickets off their nearest available bridges in mass protest? Struggling to remember that, though you may be right and I've been living on the moon for the past 5 years.
